Swimsuit Season is Looking Great

image Finding a bathing suit lately has been quite a struggle for me. I haven’t been happy with my body and nothing I find gives me the proper support I need. I have issues with getting too cold and having the “deer in headlights” look, if you know what I mean. So even when I find something that I feel decent in, I still don’t feel comfortable going out in public in my swimsuit. Last year I purchased a swimsuit from Victoria’s Secret and it was a wash. You would think that by purchasing a swimsuit at a Bra specialty store that the swimsuit would be supportive, nope, not one bit.

According to a recent survey of more than 1,000 women conducted by Lands’ End, eight out of ten surveyed (83 percent) confessed to having worn the wrong size swimsuit. They also believe other women wear the wrong size suit as well; 71 percent believe the majority of women wear the wrong size suit. This could explain why respondents have experienced swimsuit-sizing mishaps such as saggy bottoms (65 percent), cleavage overflow (58 percent), behind usting out/seat creep (56 percent) and muffin top (54 percent). Lands’ End offers a wide variety of suits to flatter every body including mix and match, one-piece, tankinis, bikinis and mastectomy suits.

Lands' End

This year, thanks to Lands’ End, I have found a beautiful swimsuit that I feel very comfortable in. In fact, I feel like it actually flatters my body, making me look slimmer. The color is very nice, I hate wearing drab colors or huge flower patterns. I like simple and sleek. I’m an average height, but when a swimsuit gives me the appearance of being longer, instead of wider, I’m in love. back

Land’s End provides the ultimate amount of choices when it comes to selecting the perfect swimsuit of the season. You can even chat on-line with someone if you still don’t feel equipped with all of the options to make a good decision. Here’s what I did.

I went to Lands’ End and selected swim from their navigational bar. Then I chose women, and I picked one from the first page. I chose Woman’s Regular All-over Control Solid Carmela Slender Swimsuit. I did look past the first page, in face I looked for a while, because I wanted to make sure I was getting the right one for me, a modest mother of two that would still love to look sexy.

Swimsuit Features:

  • Shirring defines your natural waist
  • Slendertex® slims you in seconds
  • Supportive underwire bra
  • 2-leg height visually lengthens legs
  • When they say supportive, it really is supportive. When they say slims you in seconds, as soon as you get it over your body, which for me, I’ve put a little weight back on so it took me a little bit longer to get it on than I want to admit, but once I did, It took lbs off in appearance. The bra inside it really feels like a bra I feel tight and secure. The price is great for getting style, and security in a swimsuit. You really do get what you pay for.

Now I’m ready for my beach vacation, I just wish it wasn’t so far away. We can’t afford to go visit my mom until the Summer is over. Why did you have to move to a tourist location, I will never know.

I always have swimsuit issues. I am only 5’1″ and ‘not filled in’, if you know what I mean. I, too, don’t want the ‘deer in the headlight’ thing so I look for something lined but not to the point to where I think I stole someone elses boobs to wear. I haven’t even attempted to buy a new suit in the last 2 years since I have a hip injury that required surgery. The doctor decided to fix the hip and cut my nerves so I not only walk funny but I’m barely mobile at all, therefore having trouble keeping a few extra pounds off. I’m not huge. I’m barely wearing a size 4 but I feel HUGE, deformed and just plain UGLY. I thought about a tankini but I don’t know. Just depends on the fit. I have looked over the Land’s End swimsuits and, though they may work, I can’t afford them. Guess it’s short and tank tops again. Can’t really get in the water anyway. Can’t trust my leg but, I love a nice tan….

You look great, by the way!

        Hi Gena,

Lands’ End makes them in different stride lengths, I forgot to mention that in my post. I went with average I think, but they also make short and tall. I was really amazed at all the options you can choose from.

    2. I hate swimsuit season. But, your suit looks great!

      • Momstart says:

I usually hate it too, but I want my kids to be comfortable with the water, so I need to be comfortable with it too. ;-) Thanks for visiting my blog

You look good!! Congrats on the great bathing suit find because I agree that swimsuits are AWEFUL to find….a good fitting one anyway. And I try to be modest and cover up and most swim suits want to show off all of your assets! I really like this suit on you though!

Looks great! Like the color on you! I especially love the design on the back. We should do the MLT pool sometime … though it’s indoors, it’s alway 88*F in the water and out.

      • Momstart says:

We’ll have to come to the pool with you on Tuesday sometime. I need to sign my kids up for swimming lessons, oh, and have you ever gone over to Green Lake Park, they have a wading pool. It’s supposed to be really nice and a great place for moms to exercise.

    5. That suit is very flattering, love it! I love Land’s End clothing, especially their suits. :) Great review!

You picked a great looking bathing suit, I especially love the back design of it. I love that Lands End makes swimsuits for real women, most of us with kids need support somewhere on our bodies :)

    11. It’s very flattering, and I like anything that has shirring on the sides.

    12. That is a flattering suit on you Mama!

    13. Nicole says:

I’ll definitely have to check them out. Add me to the list of people who has swimsuit issues. I’m short and quite slim, but after two kids my body has sagginess issues in a number of places. Most swimsuit makers seem to think that if you’re small you’ll want to show off lots of skin, but trust me, that’s not a pretty sight in my world!

    14. This sounds GREAT! I need to find a swimsuit for this season!

    15. nicóle says:

I think you look fabulous, and I love that swimsuit! I’m off to check out their other ones! :)

    16. this is an adorable suit!!

    17. You look amazing! The swimsuit looks awesome on you. I hate swimsuit season too because my baby pooch is so not attractive.

    18. Tenille says:

You look great!!!! Kudos to you for posting a swimsuit pic, but why wouldn’t you when you look that good?!

      • Momstart says:

You have No IDEA how tight the swimsuit is sucking me in. I still have some extra skin from having a baby. This is Super Control

But thank you for the compliment

I’ll have to check it out — supportive swimsuits are so hard to find! But it is important to swim with the kids, and fun, too!
