So Mother’s Day was yesterday and we spent the day honoring mom, right? Well, why does mom only get one day. Think about it. Mother’s are the glue to families. We run the house, we make sure everything gets taken care of. We are the teachers, we are the nurse maids, we are the painters, the household managers; there is not a job that we don’t do. Even in my house where I consider the trash to be my husband’s job, I do it often. We just keep everything moving forward, always ready for the unexpected. With kids, there is always something new around the corner.
Like Miles running after his friend and not looking where he was going. He had a wipe out. I was terrified that he broke his nose but it was just a bruise and he was fine.
I kissed the boo boo and many other boo boo’s all year round just like any other mom. It’s not until you have your own children that you can truly appreciate your own mother. I love you mom, and you too Teresa!

Two Weeks ago Western Union even had a concert at Camp Pendleton in San Diego for military families. The concert featured Wyclef Jean and Paulina Rubio and gave moms and families a nice way to celebrate love. There are plenty of ways to show love to those you care about. My mother has one secret passion that she doesn’t indulge in, though majorly boring for me, she loves to go to the bingo parlor! So the Saturday before Mother’s day, I take her and we play bingo for the next 4 hours…. she absolutely loves it!

We have a standing – Daughters day out — where Mom and I get together weekly – to go shopping, just have lunch or during the summer – I stop by to just visit and sit with her out on the front porch
Monday is the only day of the week I’m off from work, so I usually take the kids to dinner and the movies and allow my wife to have some much needed ‘me’ time!
I also bring my wife flowers home (Purple tulips are her favorite) quite frequently!
