So Mother’s Day was yesterday and we spent the day honoring mom, right? Well, why does mom only get one day. Think about it. Mother’s are the glue to families. We run the house, we make sure everything gets taken care of. We are the teachers, we are the nurse maids, we are the painters, the household managers; there is not a job that we don’t do. Even in my house where I consider the trash to be my husband’s job, I do it often. We just keep everything moving forward, always ready for the unexpected. With kids, there is always something new around the corner.
Like Miles running after his friend and not looking where he was going. He had a wipe out. I was terrified that he broke his nose but it was just a bruise and he was fine.
I kissed the boo boo and many other boo boo’s all year round just like any other mom. It’s not until you have your own children that you can truly appreciate your own mother. I love you mom, and you too Teresa!

Two Weeks ago Western Union even had a concert at Camp Pendleton in San Diego for military families. I used to drive my Mom through the Forest Preserves by her house at least twice a week…she loved to watch the seasons change, the daffodils bloom, the geese and their babies and the leaves turn color. We usually went after her trips to the doctor…I lost her 3yrs ago and I miss her terribly.

I tell her every chance I get that I love her and appreciate all she has done for me. She truly is the best mom ever! Thanks for the opportunity.
One way I try to make my Mom feel special is take her dinners from the restaurants she used to love. She can’t go out now and misses dining out. It takes some effort to get meals to take out from some restaurants and then get them to her hot but she is worth it and is always happy to have them.

I make my mom feel special by calling her frequently, even just to discuss Wheel of Fortune, just so she knows she is on my mind even when it isn’t a “special” day. She lives 1500 miles away so I cannot see her as often as I would like.

Do something simple that you take for granted. Make dinner, clean the house, do the dishes. When Mom is gone clean the house from top to bottom! She will love it
