Great American Bake Sale Giveaway

GABSOne thing that MOMS Club of Woodinville is really big on is charity projects. We do a different project almost every month. We are often gathering food for our local food bank, this month we are doing birthday bags. We buy or gather left over birthday party supplies and put them together into birthday bags, birthday bags are sets that can be used by other families to throw a party. They include cake mix, candles, plates, you know, the necessities. We do this to help our community. Here is a photo of my donation!

I was recently contacted by C&H Sugar to host a bake sale for my community, and although I don’t have time to put together a bake sale, as you can see, I strongly support Feeding America and helping out others.

Hamlet Review

I have watched BBC America’s new version of Hamlet about three times since it arrived last month from Warner Brothers. Two of my all time favorite actors are starring in this play brought to DVD and TV by BBC. When David Tennant first decided to take a break from Dr. Who, he was cast as Hamlet on stage in the London Theater. I wanted to go see the performance live, but that was next to impossible since I live so far away and tickets would have been insane just to fly to London. So, when I found out they were going to make a DVD that I could buy I was ecstatic. I was even more excited when I found out that Warner Brothers was going to send me one to review free.
 
I’m a huge science fiction fan, that goes back to the beginning of Star Trek Next Generation. Patrick Stewart was a great captain of a spaceship named Enterprise, and now he’s well known for other movies like Xmen, but nothing has been as good him in this:

Watching David Tennant and Patrick Stewart recite Shakespeare’s play Hamlet actually gave even more understanding to a production I already know and love. I remember watching another version and in some scenes I had no idea what was going on. I never before understood why Ophelia killed herself. I thought it was because Hamlet rejected her, but no, that was only part of her losing her wits, it was that Hamlet killed her father. How I could miss that, I have no idea. In this version I even wondered about Hamlet’s sanity myself. He seemed quite crazy, even though he was just pretending to be crazy. Seemed to me, losing his father pushed him over the edge too. I loved how they  modernized it. Some of the outfits that David Tennant wore were insane. His muscle man shirt just cracked me up. You have to watch this movie to truly get the spirit of Hamlet.

Baby Looney Tunes Blanket Giveaway

I have always had a thing for Baby Looney Tunes characters. The little Taz was always my favorite as he just ran around in a blur spouting out things no one could understand. He’s so cute. Babies are cute too and they need so much attention and love for quite a while. My two are two and three now and finding so much independence it makes me a little sad.

Who Grew My Soup Giveaway

HGYS LogoCampbell’s has announced the winner of the Help Grow Your Soup campaign. This campaign was designed to raise money for the national FFA Organization. Five farms where chosen to receive barn restoration, and we got to vote on which farm was chosen, each vote was equal to 1.00 in donations. The winning farms were Providence Grove H.S Farm, Bowers School Farm, The Just Wait and See Farm, Dull Family Farm and Augie Fudala Farm and the campaign raised 500,000 and the money will help students explore the many opportunities that modern agriculture offers. So far, two of the farms have finished their restoration.

Shrek Forever After Giveaway

clip_image001Are you excited about Shrek Forever After, I’ve seen Shrek 1 and Shrek 2 quite a few times and I’m about to watch Shrek 3. In two weeks I’m going to be throwing a Mc Donald’s Shrek Forever Chicken McNugget House Party. We’re going to receive Shrek 3 and Shrek Forever Toys happy meal toys. I’m pretty excited about it, and it will just build our excitement for Shrek Forever in theaters this summer.

May 11th is National “Eat What You Want” Day:

I’ve already been eating everything I want. WOW, birthday, Mother’s Day, not eat what you want day. It’s been eat what I want day since May began. I think my healthy eating will come back after the month of May is over.

· Pile your sandwich high on Tuesday and forget about the carbs!  Arnold/Oroweat/Brownberry Breads are a great source of Whole Grains, so there’s no need to feel guilt.  You can find some tasty ideas online so there’s never a dull lunch.
