How to Choose Diapers, Baby Looney Tunes Light Up Plush Giveaway

Happily Healthy is teamed up with Warner Brothers and Mom Logic to bring new mothers answers to baby questions. Happily Healthy offers fun, and engaging ways to nurture your baby over a series of videos and posts on Mom Logic.

Dra. AlizaHere is some information on how to choose diapers from Dra. Eliza that you can find on Mom Logic:

If you’d like to learn more about the different types of cloth diapers available today, here are a few highlights:

  • All-in-Ones / All-in-Twos: Think of these as cloth versions of the disposable diapers. These come as one piece. The distinction is that the All-in-Twos have an extra insert that serves as an absorbent layer, while the All-in-Ones have the insert and outer covering set into a single piece so you’re ready to go.
  • Fitted Diapers: As the name implies, these are fitted at the edges to help prevent leaks. But be aware that this option requires a diaper cover.
  • Flat and Pre-fold: Yes, these are the kind of diapers you think they are — the old-fashioned kind! They are actually made to be a bit more convenient nowadays, using snaps instead of pins. However, they are not fitted and do require folding. There are always the pre-fold options that offer more cloth and therefore more absorbency. They are by far the cheapest option for cloth diapering. Bear this in mind if cost is a factor in your choice.
  • Pocket Diapers: These are similar to the All-in-Twos option, only the inserts go into a pocket vs. sitting in the diaper. The best part is that you can use any natural and organic material as an insert for added absorption and protection.
  • One-Size Diapers: The name says it all! These are one-size diapers which you can take from infancy through potty training. For moms with older and younger kids still in the diaper phases, it doesn’t get any more convenient than a one-size diaper.

Save on Ergo Chef Knives

The Chef Knife:

chefknife

The chef knife’s 8 inch blade is great for cutting veggies, I used it on potatoes the other day for corn chowder. It’s also meant for fruits and meats. It features a crisscross knurl on the end of the blade to pulverize garlic and nuts.

The Utility Dragon Dagger:

Utilitydraggondagger

The Dragon Dagger’s 5 and 1/2 inch blade is great for cutting bread and sandwiches. It cuts a mean peanut butter and Jelly if you ask my daughter’s opinion. We used it on home made bread, pizza dough and on sandwiches. It features a serrated edge and fork prongs on the tip to pick up food with. It’s super sharp making it great for cheese, veggies, and small fruits.

I have found that both of these knives are very manly. They are red and black and decorated with flames. I’d prefer pink and flowers but if you want to get your man in the kitchen flowers aren’t going to do it are they? Both of the knives come with a blade guard for storage.

The  discount code is MOMS10.

It will be valid on Monday, May 31st at 12 AM- Saturday, June 5th at 11:59 PM.  It’s good for 10% off all items excluding sale items.

This is a sponsored post. I received the products listed above.

Scrubbing Bubbles Extend a Clean Gift Basket Giveaway

ScrubbingBubblesExtend-A-CleanScrubbing Bubbles is a well known name in cleaning, when it comes to the bath room; especially in our house. I like to use Scrubbing Bubbles in the shower and on the tub.

According to a recent Scrubbing Bubbles® survey, eight in 10 moms begin multi-tasking as soon as they jump out of bed. To help simplify your cleaning routine, Scrubbing Bubbles® has released the Extend-A-Clean™ Power Sprayer, a new cleaner that works hard so busy moms don’t have to. The power sprayer creates a barrier working to keep bathroom surfaces clean for days.

We recently received a gift basket from SC Johnson and their brand Scrubbing Bubbles. The basket is all about how to “minimize morning madness”. We like the coffee mug, and my husband has been sharing cappuccinos out of that coffee mug. Thanks Dear.

As far as the Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean goes, it shoots really far and with the press of the button. There is no need to continue to using the nozzle. It creates an invisible barrier that keeps bathroom surfaces clean for up to four days.  The powerful cleaner cuts through soap scum and grime with little to no elbow grease.

Swimsuit Season is Looking Great

image Finding a bathing suit lately has been quite a struggle for me. I haven’t been happy with my body and nothing I find gives me the proper support I need. I have issues with getting too cold and having the “deer in headlights” look, if you know what I mean. So even when I find something that I feel decent in, I still don’t feel comfortable going out in public in my swimsuit. Last year I purchased a swimsuit from Victoria’s Secret and it was a wash. You would think that by purchasing a swimsuit at a Bra specialty store that the swimsuit would be supportive, nope, not one bit.

According to a recent survey of more than 1,000 women conducted by Lands’ End, eight out of ten surveyed (83 percent) confessed to having worn the wrong size swimsuit. They also believe other women wear the wrong size suit as well; 71 percent believe the majority of women wear the wrong size suit. This could explain why respondents have experienced swimsuit-sizing mishaps such as saggy bottoms (65 percent), cleavage overflow (58 percent), behind usting out/seat creep (56 percent) and muffin top (54 percent). Lands’ End offers a wide variety of suits to flatter every body including mix and match, one-piece, tankinis, bikinis and mastectomy suits.

Lands' End

This year, thanks to Lands’ End, I have found a beautiful swimsuit that I feel very comfortable in. In fact, I feel like it actually flatters my body, making me look slimmer. The color is very nice, I hate wearing drab colors or huge flower patterns. I like simple and sleek. I’m an average height, but when a swimsuit gives me the appearance of being longer, instead of wider, I’m in love. back

Land’s End provides the ultimate amount of choices when it comes to selecting the perfect swimsuit of the season. You can even chat on-line with someone if you still don’t feel equipped with all of the options to make a good decision. Here’s what I did.

I went to Lands’ End and selected swim from their navigational bar. Then I chose women, and I picked one from the first page. I chose Woman’s Regular All-over Control Solid Carmela Slender Swimsuit. I did look past the first page, in face I looked for a while, because I wanted to make sure I was getting the right one for me, a modest mother of two that would still love to look sexy.

Swimsuit Features:

  • Shirring defines your natural waist
  • Slendertex® slims you in seconds
  • Supportive underwire bra
  • 2-leg height visually lengthens legs
  • When they say supportive, it really is supportive. When they say slims you in seconds, as soon as you get it over your body, which for me, I’ve put a little weight back on so it took me a little bit longer to get it on than I want to admit, but once I did, It took lbs off in appearance. The bra inside it really feels like a bra I feel tight and secure. The price is great for getting style, and security in a swimsuit. You really do get what you pay for.

Now I’m ready for my beach vacation, I just wish it wasn’t so far away. We can’t afford to go visit my mom until the Summer is over. Why did you have to move to a tourist location, I will never know.

Show Teacher Appreciation to Win a Select Comfort Sleep Number Bed

sleepnumber Don’t we all have a teacher in our lives that touched us in some way. Select Comfort the makers of the Sleep Number Bed are holding a contest where you can win a Queen size Sleep Number p5 bed, just like the one I gave away a month ago. I can not believe it was a month ago, where does the time go?

I had a lot of great teachers over the years. My favorite one was Mrs. Faber in 8th grade. She was the science teacher and since I was in the smart kids class I had her twice a day. Middle school can be really difficult, kids are nasty. We’re picked on for what we wear, what we do, what we say, it’s awful. So not only was she an excellent Earth Science, and Physical Science teacher; she was also a teacher of “duh” you guys sure are dumb for being so smart. I know I was one of the kids that other kids in the class were calling a “nerd”. I wasn’t the only one though. Some of the smart kids were so clicky, that if you weren’t in the click, then you were a nerd, a geek, or some other nickname that was chosen by the ring leader of the day. So one day, before she starts class she rips into all of us. She goes on to tell us how tired she is of all the name calling, and BullSh** that’s going on in the class. She said you guys have got to start treating each other with respect, and most importantly, we were all in the SMART class, so we were all nerds, geeks and weirdoes.

That’s the short version, but what’s your story? Share your story and win a bed and a prize for the teacher you love.

    Contest Details:

Please submit a short essay or video about how a teacher helped you or your child succeed. The best entry will receive a Queen SLEEP NUMBER® p5 bed set, and the teacher in the winning essay will receive a SLEEP NUMBER® Bedding Collection package valued at more than $500! Entries will be judged on creativity of entry, quality of entry, and capturing the essence of the contest theme. Your entry can be either a 1,000 character-limit (including spaces) essay or a video (no longer than one minute long). Videos must be posted on youtube, simply paste your link in the entry form below. Limit one entry per person. Enter by 6/6/10 and must be 18+ to enter. For more information, please visit www.sleepnumber.com/teachercontest.

    Sleep Tips:

Select Comfort’s Vice President of Sleep Innovation and Clinical Research, Pete Bils– who has been researching sleep for more than ten years and was a former high school math teacher– just posted some great sleep tips and facts relevant to school-aged students. Pete’s advice can be found at http://beds.com/zzz-help-teach-a-b-cs/.

My daughter and I went to Disney while my DH, due to new job, stayed home and was charged with care of hamster. Hamster escaped. DH bought new hamster. I FOUND original hamster when I arrived home & popped it into the cage with the newbie. Not long after, discovered a soggy nest of baby hamsters. Thought we had a little time before we needed to worry about separating parents. Poor mom had just given birth to quite a litter. WRONG! Another batch. Grrr.

Separated parents, but didn’t think we had to separate mom & babies for a little bit. WRONG AGAIN, no such thing as breeding/family relationship boundaries in the world of hamsters! Another batch. Arrghhh.

By the time all was said and done, we had 4 hamster cages taking over our rec room. Not to mention all of our family friends were now proud hamster owners. Thank goodness our local pet store accepted baby hamsters.

Moral of the story: discuss how to catch a renegade hamster with DH before leaving him to hamster duty for extended period of time and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you ever, EVER put more than one hamster in a cage!

We now own a 1yr old Yellow Lab ( no member of the family currently has a matching pair of shoes) and two cats. All are neutered!

Thanks for the opportunity! We could certainly use some more chew toys!
