We received Funny Lunch from Scholastic last week and it’s Zoe’s new favorite book. It’s about a dog who likes to cook, and my daughter loves to pretend to cook for us all the time. Chef Max is a great chef in a restaurant and when someone asks for something special he delivers. Want a hot dog, you better watch out and be prepared for what you get. You’ll find that the best thing to order from Chef Max is the Daily Special.
Funny Lunch is written by David Catrow. David Catrow is a nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist and the award-wining illustrator of numerous books for children, including Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Songs by Alan Katz. He lives in Springfield, Ohio, with his wife, and their three dogs, Bubbs, Beetle, and Blue. Max Spaniel is based upon Bubbs! Visit his website.
