One Year ago today…
We were thinking about selling our house.
We had a dog that we all miss very much.
Miles was only crawling.
I was still wearing pregnancy jeans.
The sun was not out and we were playing inside.
I wasn’t on my laptop.
I woke up in a terrible mood and didn’t want to get out of bed. Last night before I went to bed my husband said I could sleep in. He said he’s get up and make breakfast and take care of the kids.
He’s sick today!
It’s not his fault and I’m not mad at him, I’m just upset because I wanted my day off. Or morning off rather. My kids felt my grumpiness and just mirrored it back onto me which made my morning even more grumpy.
Finally, Zoe said I want to go to the park and with the sunshine outside I thought what a great idea. I ran upstairs and got dressed and by the time I was dressed the kids were yelling, pushing and grumpy again and no one wanted to go outside. Ooooohhh.
I’m at my breaking point, wanting to pull out my hair and scream, so I just popped in a movie, (hit play on the DVR) and we sat and waited for daddy to feel better. It wasn’t until snack time around 10 AM that everyone felt like going outside again. So we went to the park and I think my day has turned around.
Zoe played outside until lunch time and Miles had to go back home with Daddy to take a nap, but now they are both down and we’ll see how the afternoon goes. It can only get better.
My Plans:
Go to Home Depot and Michaels for Room Decorating Ideas
Go back to the park and blow more bubbles
Go to the grocery store and pick up a loaf of bread, gravy and black olives.
It can only get better from here.
I had to get away and out of the house today because it was a beautiful day. We went to play at one of the local parks and it was quite a bit of fun. Both of the kids had a blast.
We took on a new trail!
Saw some wild flowers
And took on the slide
The Game Review Network selected me to review Twilight Scene It. I love the Scene It games, but what I love even more is Twilight. I’m one of those crazy fanatics over the books. I have read all four books three times and am ready to read them again. You might think that I need to get into a new books series but I just love reading it over and over and over again.
Does that help me with the Scene It Twilight? No Way!!
I own a copy of the movie and love to watch it over and over again, but that doesn’t help me with the trivia either. Why?
The Trivia is HARD!
So who is the author is not the hardest question, but that’s not in the movie right?
And I did learn that she was in the movie but I have no idea who she was.
The Board has both Bella and Edward on it and that isn’t the only way that the movie icons are illustrated in the game. The tokens that four players can choose from are Charlie’s house, a baseball, Bella’s truck, and Edward’s piano. All are huge representations of Bella’s eventful stay in Forks.
You can advance around the board by answering triva questions or DVD based puzzles. Sometimes you’ll get to watch a scene, but it doesn’t mean the question is going to pertain to anything you just watched. It’s still fun to re-live the scenes though.
Product Features
What’s in the Box
DVD, game board, 4 collectible metal tokens, 100 trivia cards, 30 Fate cards, 1 six-sided numbered die, 1 eight-sided category die, 4 category reference cards, and instruction sheet.
Like any other Scene it game it’s a great game to get out during a party and if you have a bunch of moms over that love Twilight it is sure to be a huge hit. I like just watching all the scenes and Dr. Cullen lead the game.
Twilight was provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency through The Game Review Network.
Losing weight is not an easy process. If it were, we would all look like super models. We would all look like we never gave birth. I am completely amazed at women that lose all their weight and that have no hips. Before I had children I didn’t have hips. Then when I was pregnant with my daughter I got a spare tire for a stomach and hips in my legs. Now I feel like the shape of my body will forever be the shape it is now.
However, it’s just those last pounds that I want to lose. You know, If I were to lose 10 more lbs I would be the weight I was before I had children, If I lost 10 more than that I would be the weight I was in college. I would also be in the healthy weight range that some crazy chart in my OBYGN’s office said I needed to be in. For my height I’m supposed to weigh between 114 and 135. Crazy I think but I’ve seen people taller than me weigh in at 131. So it can be done.
This week my weakness was the coffee run. Before I went on my trip I had given up coffee runs and if I was having coffee I was only having one cup a day. So I was cutting out a ton of sugar. I failed my goals this week and yesterday I was feeling really badly about it but today I’m feeling much stronger about it and my goals. (It could just be the difference in the weather today)
We had our monthly weigh in at my MOMS Club and I did not lose any weight. I was 151.1. It was depressing, but one of the moms said I looked really skinny and that I needed to stop wearing baggy clothing and show off my stuff. So that was uplifting. Thank goodness for friends or we would all fail all the time.
My goal for next week is to give up the coffee runs, and go back to one cup a day. Also to increase the walking with my kids. I still find myself sitting too much. So Here we come next week to kick your behind.
I don’t often write about my faith and that was one of my new years resolutions that I never worked very hard on. I do believe in God and in the possibilities of miracles. If it is in God’s will it can happen.
My aunt was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. It was stage four and she was given six months to live. She began asking her friends to be prayer warriors for her and she has been in and out of remission and fighting it step by step.
I have been so impressed with her faith and her unwavering ability to live and enjoy life in her condition. She’s one of the most amazing people in my life.
Last Summer and last Winter she came up to Washington to visit a very good friend of hers and both times she did everything in her power to visit with me too. Which meant so much to me.
Through out all of her battles with Cancer she has never faltered in her faith. She sends out Christmas cards and e-mails keeping us all updated. Between surgery and drugs I think most people are exhausted by Cancer, but you never can see that in her. You only see strength and determination.
Her latest battle was with a brain tumor that was cancerous. She had it removed surgically and came through the surgery talking. The doctors have given her another six months, but we know that was what she was first given years ago. My uncle has asked that none of us are to give up. The power of prayer and belief in God has kept her alive this long and we should continue to believe in miracles. I ask those of you that believe in God and pray to say a prayer for my aunt. Her will to live is strong and her family loves and needs her still.
Thank You!
Thanks to Fortyseven Communications on behalf of Hudson Entertainment I received a demo copy of Rooms for the Wii. I popped it in and gave it a shot. This is my preview:
In Rooms, players use various items and the guidance of their host, Mr. Book, to navigate a series of surreal mansions. With the right combination of intellect, strategy and various objects, players must carefully shift pieces in the current room around, in a manner similar to slide puzzles, to keep moving forward. Players are also rewarded with a bonus if the background is placed correctly. With more than 100 rooms and a level editor to create even more, players will be enjoying their own unique puzzle adventure for ages to come.
Rooms: the main building launches March 23 for the Wii and DS for $29.99.
Rooms took me a little bit to get into. I felt like the introduction was just a little bit too long. I had to keep hitting the A button to continue the conversation.
The Introduction:
There is a boy and he finds a gift. When he opens the gift it transports him to a new world and he runs into the book. The book is his guide and is going to help him reach the exit. The kid just wants to go back home but follows the instructions hoping to get done soon.
The Play:
The object is to get to the final room. It’s a puzzle game, you have to find a key to unlock rooms and then go from puzzle piece to puzzle piece until you can get to the exit. Each level adds a stage of difficulty and objects get in the way.
There are things to help you along the way but to continue to gain these you have to defeat more levels. With each level you get to a new room and closer to the exit. Just remember, if you enter a room with water in it you will drown. I died very quickly because I wasn’t thinking and entered a room full of water.
There will be more options for play but they are locked down until later in March.
My Thoughts:
As I stated above, I didn’t like the feel of the introduction and almost put the game down. I’m happy that I didn’t though because I love puzzle games. I’m addicted to puzzle games. You know, I would be playing puzzle games all day long if only I didn’t have children or a life. My other thoughts are that this would be better on the DS, and it is available on the DS in addition to the Wii. I would prefer the closer screen and smaller play area for this game. I would also be interested in testing out the level editor. That sounds like a whole lot of fun.

We recently received the New York Style Risotto Chips to review. We received three bags, the Spicy Marinara, Sea Salt and Parmesan Roasted Garlic. Being the frugal person that I am I will only open one package at a time when I’m trying things. I hate for something to lose it’s freshness before I have a chance to get it all eaten. So I opened one bag so far. We tried the Spicy Marinara for lunch.
To me this flavor is like being in a Mexican Restaurant. The chips are light and easy to find yourself at the end of the bag. The flavor is rich and powerful. The coating is just enough in my opinion. It isn’t too much and it isn’t lacking. They crunch just like chips, get stuck in my teeth just like chips, but have a better texture making them light and airy. If I found them on-sale and had a coupon and wasn’t on a diet I would buy them.
I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. My only concern with all of the chips is the amount of calories they have in a serving. Of course, I haven’t checked out the amount of calories in a bag of chips in a long time. They are a good source of fiber though and you won’t find that in a bag of chips.
Light, crispy and delightfully dippable, Risotto Chips™ are great as a side for deli sandwiches, crumpled into a steaming bowl of hearty soup or enjoyed with your favorite spreads and dips. Of course, they’re also tasty right out of the bag!
Risotto Chips™ are all natural, have 0 grams trans fat, are gluten free and offer 11 grams whole grains—all without sacrificing taste. Available in three palate-pleasing flavors, Sea Salt, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic and Spicy Marinara.
You can print a coupon by visiting the New York Style website. If you join the Central Park Club, you will automatically receive a $0.75 OFF coupon for any New York Style product.
My Cozi Journal made me realize that I need to be using my blog more as a journal. What does that mean?
Probably more posting from me. Or more organized posting from me. Making sure that most of my giveaways are listed on two different designated days during the week, then I have all the rest of the time to post personal stories. I mean, my children do something cute every day don’t yours?
I’m not saying I will change, but I might. Depends on life!
You can see, my life is full of spunk!
More Butterfly Viewing For you!
My husband doesn’t even read my blog anymore, that should say something. He only reads my journal, because then he doesn’t have to see all of the other posts that he has no interest in. He’s not into giveaways, or reading mom reviews. I’m always all over the place, that’s just me. It’s how I clean house too; going from one room to the other doing what I feel like as I see it and my mind changes.
My blog is like my house!
I really miss owning a dog so I have to watch videos of pets on-line. A PR Company that I occasionally post things for asked me to post this information and share it with my readers. I figured I might as well, because I’m enjoying the videos.
Pets are more than just animals to their owners; they’re part of the family. For those pet owners who get so much from their pets, Purina® Pro Plan® is helping them “Do More” to give back to their pets with a new series of helpful Web videos and tips on www.DoMoreForPets.com featuring Jeff Probst.
The Pro Plan® Doing More™ for Pets program is a series of short Web videos that provide pet owners with new and creative ways to care for their pets. Jeff Probst, Emmy Award-winning host of the hit television show Survivor and an avid animal enthusiast, stars in the videos along with two furry friends, Cooper, a yellow lab, and Zoey, an American Shorthair cat. Each video gives an overview of a different suggested activity for owners to experience with their dog or cat in a fun and safe way. Pet lovers can view the Web video series at www.DoMoreForPets.com.
“I collaborated with Purina Pro Plan® on this project because we share the same philosophy when it comes to caring for pets,” said Probst. “Pro Plan is geared for pet owners who get so much from their pets they do all they can to give back to them. That’s the kind of pet owner I am, and hopefully pet lovers see it come to life in this series of educational Web videos.”
A total of nine videos will be released throughout the spring, three of which are currently available on www.DoMoreForPets.com, including:
