Last year Barnes and Noble introduced The Nook. I’ve been using the Kindle 2 until my husband took it away from me because his broke. (ok, he didn’t take it, I gave it to him because he has trouble falling asleep and reading helps him.) We switched to a digital reader because my husband goes through books like the wind blows and he doesn’t like the library. He’s a little weird, so overall, it’s cheaper for us to use a digital reader. It’s also a lot easier because when he unexpectedly can’t go to bed one night he can just purchase a new book and it is instantly there.
Opening the Box: I found the packaging easy to open and sharp!
The Nook is an ebook reader that allows you to read your books no matter where you are. That is an advantage over the Amazon Kindle. The Kindle does not share except with other Kindles within the same account. So my husband and I do share books, but with the Nook, I can share my books with anyone anywhere. If you have an iPhone/iPod, soon to be iPad, BlackBerry, and your computers, you can swap books from the nook.

Another advantage is the color touch screen that is just below the reading area. At first I thought the reading area was smaller but it is the same size. The touch screen is quite nice and easy for me to use. You can view by cover art. My husband said I need to warn you that not all book covers that come up are suitable for kids to look at. He probably was looking at Sci Fi books just to let you know.
The combination of color and touch on the beautiful lower screen make navigating nook intuitive and simple, even for the tech novice. nook presents the controls, navigation and keyboard you need, only when you need them.
Another advantage is you can change the screen saver and choose some very fun ones to look at. They have an Alice and Wonderland that look really cool. I’m just sad that I have to download it onto my computer then over to the nook, but they might work on changing that option. We’ll just have to wait and see.
It is very light and portable
My only complaint would be that the Nook is slow compared the Kindle. Directly downloading a book that we were trying to purchase took a little more time than we liked, but it’s still so much faster than going out to the store, esp since stores aren’t open when we are looking at getting a new book.

I would download The Daathar Chronicles by Stacy Reynolds because I need the royalties.
I would start by downloading The Cellist of Sarajevo, and then continue with hundreds of other titles and also my textbooks for school.
Also, I follow you on twitter (I’m NicoLina54), I tweeted the tweet you asked for, and advertised on facebook (at http://www.facebook.com/nicknackx54)
I would do anything for this nook because I am finishing school currently to be a special education teacher and i already love reading but the price for books at school is so much I’m not sure I will be able to take summer classes :’(. Having kids, being a full time student, and having a full time job is intense!
My passion in life is helping people and knowledge is key for my field. Getting this Nook would brighten my future. The first book I would download would be most likely a text book for my special education courses i take at Ferris State University. But the first book I would choose for me would definitely be, “Helping children cope with divorce” by Edward Teyber. This past year I got a divorce and I want to be there every way for my Children.
I’m totally obsessed with book and especially vampires and mythology.so I’d probably get one of cirque Du freak books first.
the first book i would download would be Handle With Care by Jodi Piccult
The First book I would download ( what a hard question!) would probably be a Sookie Stackhouse novel.
the first book i would download would be dead in the family i love vampires and all that jazz.
I would download My sister’s Keeper along with over 30 different textbooks for school!
I would download The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
my first book to download would be Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie!
After getting hooked on the show “Criminal Minds.” I began to have this quest for knowledge. I have never been much of a reader, but all of a sudden it’s all I want to do. I support a wife and 3 children. We do fine for ourselves, but we don’t have the resources for extra things like a Nook. If I was to win, I imagine I would read something by Dean Koontz or James Patterson. I love mystery’s!
Thanks!
I would download Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex because Eion Colfer is my favorite author and I’ve been absolutely dying to read the newest one
I would download The Confession by John Grisham, because I love his novels about lawyers and the law.
I would download the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because it has taken me ages to get around to reading it and I could read it on the Nook without anyone seeing the cover.
I would download “The Painted Boy,” by Charles de Lint. The idea that I could begin to transfer all of my paper books to a much more easily stored and transported format is so exciting. I’ve been collecting books my entire life, and have way to many to find shelves for. The space in my house is reserved for shelves, not furniture. With 4 paycuts in the last 2 years, I haven’t been buying books and can’t afford the Nook. Give me an opportunity to begin to download a few at a time, though, and I would be thrilled.
I would download Oryx and Crake by Margret Atwood.
I think I might order: “Where Angels Go” Barbara Newcomber sounds fun and endearing.

I would download any book by Charles Dickens, Debbie Macomber, or Edgar Allen Poe. Pretty much any classic literature.
