Off to BlissDom Today

My best friend and I are driving to BlissDom and I’m about to leave. I’m not sure how plugged in I’ll be while I’m there. I saw one tweet last night about the wifi speed being slow, but what can you expect with 500 bloggers in one spot. Of course that would drain a system.

This will be my very first blogging conference. I’m going to learn how to brand myself and become a better blogger. I’m going to learn how to maximize my reach and become more personal. I’m very excited to see some familiar faces and learn from the best. Wish me luck and hope that I have the courage to be social.

 

I also need some energy from somewhere. My kids have not slept well since I have arrived here in Texas. Oh how I am losing it.

 

If I can be on, I will, otherwise, I’ll be posting on Monday of Next week. Have a great weekend without me.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie’s Bow-tique Review

clip_image001My son has always been the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan in the house. He has a Mickey Mouse Doll, a Minnie Mouse Doll, a Pluto Doll. There is just something about that song Hot Dog. You know, Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog, Hot Dog Hot Dog Hot Diggity Dog, Come inside it’s fun inside. He just gets up and starts dancing at the end of every episode. Miles tries to move his hands like Mickey Mouse does. He’s just adorable. Miles also likes to repeat the words “OH Toodles”.  On Tuesday February 9th Walt Disney Studios will release MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE: MINNIE’S BOW-TIQUE on DVD! We were sent an early copy of this to write a review of it. This new release features four Minnie-themed stories including a never-before-seen episode and a fun Minnie magnet bow frame. ‘Minnie’s Pajama Party,’ and ‘Minnie’s Bee Story,’ include Disney’s Adventure Mode – an interactive game using the remote control with multiple play levels.

My daughter just loves the bow frame and magnet set, she ripped that right up and took it to the fridge. We just receive a new fridge and it’s actually magnetic. So happy about that. That started about an hour of playtime with her brother without the TV.

MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE: MINNIE’S BOW-TIQUE

All of the episodes on this DVD are about Minnie Mouse. She is the best party host, always thinking about her friends and their needs.

Minnie’s Bow-tique

This is a new episode that will air in April. It’s the grand opening of Minnie’s Bow-tique, a store jam-packed with every kind of bow and bowtie imaginable. The selections include: the "Glow-Bow", a bow that changes color with every mood; the "Grow-Bow", a bow that grows to tremendous size by just adding water; flying "Butterfly-Bows"; and a "Photo-Bow" that snaps instant pictures. Problems arise when Pete, embarrassed about buying a lady’s bow for his favorite aunt, causes a few accidental mishaps in the new store. However, super salesperson Minnie finds the perfect bow for Pete. The Bow-tique’s grand opening is a success – and it all ends in a Big Bow Show with the Clubhouse gang modeling the latest fashions under the biggest bow of all, a colorful, sky-high Rain-Bow.

Minnie’s Bee Story

In Minnie’s Bee Story they all set out looking for their friend Bee, they encounter the Professor and Donald does not behave very well. He tries to catch bee with a net, but in the end they are all friends.

Minnie’s Picnic

Minnie wants to have a picnic on the new Mickey Mouse picnic grounds. They grab all the supplies they need for 12 friends, load up Toodles and off they go. Of course when they get there they run into all kinds of trouble. Well, you know the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, it’s not really trouble it’s more like, oops, how do we fix or accomplish this. Great beginning to problem solving skills for your children.

Minnie’s Pajama Party* (Never-before-seen episode until 4/6/10)

Minnie and the girls set up a fun Pajama Party sleepover for the day – but it’s not as easy as it sounds, especially with the addition of Pete and Willie the Giant! When Willie the Giant comes they have to move the party outside. In this episode they learn how to divide things into equal parts amount all of their friends. First Minnie starts with a pie and then it’s the clubhouse. Each friend gets their own space to sleep.

Plush Donation from Tales 4 Tomorrow and a #giveaway

Tales 4 Tomorrow is a great new learning to to give to kids. It is sometimes referred to as the environmentally friendly Webkinz, these endangered species plush come with a code that you can then upload to www.tales4tomorrow.com where kids can play games, watch videos, learn fun facts about the environment, and spend time with their new friends in their natural habitat. Tales 4 tomorrow is working with Conservation International. Conservation International (CI) announced a three year partnership with Kango on the Tales 4 Tomorrow™ (T4T) brand, which combines animal conservation with games for kids in an online virtual world. The T4T toy line will be exclusively distributed by Fiesta to specialty and gift channels, and will include eco-friendly plush toys, trading cards and the interactive website www.tales4tomorrow.com.

T4T is environmentally conscious, they make the outer coat of the plush toys from soy and cotton, and product tags are made from recycled paper.  Tales 4 Tomorrow was happy to support my charity and support their own. They will donate 5% of proceeds generated by the sale of the plush toys to help save Endangered species worldwide. Their hope is that Tales 4 Tomorrow will raise awareness and inspire the next generation of CI members to improve our planet. 

“We are so pleased that proceeds from Tales 4 Tomorrow will support important endangered species projects through CI,” said Laura Bowling, senior vice president of communication at CI. “In addition to providing critical funding, Tales 4 Tomorrow’s focus on Endangered species will help kids learn about the importance of saving some of the world’s most threatened animals.”  The four projects that kids will choose to support through CI include:

  • The Big-Eyed Tree Frog
  • One of the cutest, most prolific frog species, the big-eyed tree frog is a dynamic animal that will help raise the awareness of the conservation importance of this group and its habitat within the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania.
  • Maintaining and Restoring Tiger and Rhino Habitat
  • India’s North Bank landscape is a vast area peppered with protected parks that harbor a host of animals and plants, including tigers and rhinos. The small size of some reserves means that animals must move between the protected areas, in search of food and water. This project will help maintain and restore important habitat linkages and promote practices that favor conservation.
  • International Tiger Coalition
  • The International Tiger Coalition (ITC) is an alliance of 39 non-governmental organizations (millions of people) united under the common aim of stopping trade in tiger parts and products from all sources in order to secure a long-term future for wild tigers.
  • Panda Guardians
  • The epicenter of the May 2008 Sichuan earthquake was in Wenchuan County, China, located at the eastern edge of the mountains in a biodiversity hotspot – a region where many endangered animals such as the giant panda and golden monkey live. CI is working with local partners and scientists to jumpstart a long-term project designed to help the local communities, wildlife, and natural ecosystems recover from this natural disaster.

Soldier of Love By Sade available Feb 9 #giveaway

soldier-of-love-albumSoldier of Love is only the sixth studio album the band Sade have released during their 25 year career, and the first since Lover’s Rock in 2000. For Sade herself, as the lynchpin of the group’s songwriting effort, it’s a simple matter of integrity and authenticity. “I only make records when I feel I have something to say. The album was completed in the summer of 2009, mainly at Real World. The feel of the music this time had moved away from the old country soul styling of Lover’s Rock and assumed a more eclectic identity. At times the band sounded like the original Sade, with Matthewman back blowing soft sax on In Another Time and the vocal on Long Hard Road hymning. But with songs such as the joyously quirky reggae chant Babyfather, and the dramatically arranged album opener The Moon and the Sky, Sade were exploring new territory. “I never want to repeat myself,” Sade herself says. “And that becomes a more interesting challenge for us the longer we carry on together.”

Have Game Time on a Budget: A Walmart SuperBowl Party #giveaway.

Random Tuesday – My son, Texas, Weather, Flying and come link up!

randomtuesday Random Tuesday Thoughts Im Talking A Lot Of Shit Today

I flew to Texas today with my children. I find that people are so very selfish. When getting on a plane, everyone is in such a hurry and then when putting their luggage away, good grief. Does anyone use the space under the seat in front of them. That’s actually my favorite place to put stuff because then it is so easy to access. I just pull it out and up.

I do have to commend the man sitting in front of my son though, there was no room and he was in his car seat so every time he moved he kicked the guys seat. How in the world he stayed calm and never once looked at me or my son is beyond me. I would have lost it or changed seats. The Flight attendant saw what was going on and offered the man a new seat.

This flight attendant was quite the flirt, Wow, I mean she was nice but she was over the top with every man on the plane, at least I had a reason to smile. She filled up my kids cups with water and maybe she was just a happy person.

I’m thinking about my wardrobe for BlissDom. I have no idea if my clothes or my ability to put my clothing together will be stylish but at least my hair is rockin. I love my new hair do. It’s the best decision I have made in a long time.

Why is it so cold in Texas right now. I was really hoping for some warmth and sunshine. I really need some warming in my hands and feet. I’m cold right now. And Oklahoma, i hear they are under buckets of snow, was planning on driving with my friend to Blissdom; I wonder if we’re even going to make it now.

My son is really pushing all of my buttons lately. Love him so much and I do baby him, discipline is hard for me when it comes to him. I just want to cuddle him and tell him, it’s ok. Oh man, I’ve got to get some more back bone. I’m working on it, and made some progress this last week too, but now I’m in Texas and I forgot my naughty spot. Oops.

 

I’m thinking of changing my blog, but the changes will come with whatever I learn at my conference, if I make it. I need to go to bed. It’s got to be 10 here. After I finish this episode of DollHouse.
