Just hitting shelves is the new album, The Princess and the frog. Walt Disney Studios sent us one of the CD’s to review. All of the Disney Classics have EPIC music in my opinion, and what we get from the Princess and the Frog is not only magical but also historical. There is a bit of New Orleans in the beat. Disney released the musical THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, an animated comedy set in the great city of New Orleans. From the creators of "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin" comes a modern twist on a classic tale, featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana, a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana. For some reason it took me forever to figure out what this movie was going to be about. I kept thinking that Tiana was a real princess but then the previews didn’t make sense. I can say that I am no longer in the dark.
The CD features Anika Noni Rose(Dreamgirls), Ne-Yo(R&B music star) and Academy Award® winning composer Randy Newman. Randy Newman did Cars, Toy Story, 1, 2, and 3 (will be out in June), A Bug’s life, and Monsters, Inc. Just a little perspective on his talent. The inspiration for The Princess and the Frog is that it is set in the great city of New Orleans, having all the sounds of Jazz, Zydeco, Blues, Gospel. All are present for an unforgettable musical experience the entire family will enjoy.
My husband liked it but not enough to add it to our weekend playlist. I do however, think that I will add it to my playlist that I play for the kids during the week. The music provides culture and I love Jazz and classical music. I find the last song to be classic, but can you expect anything less for the newest Princess in the Disney Princess Lineup?
