EcoSMART Home Pest Control with organic ant killer Review and #giveaway

November 4, 2009 · Filed Under giveaway, review

EcoSMART contacted me and requested that I review thier bug spray. I hate spiders and said sure send me something to use in my house. They sent me their Home Pest control for Indoor and outdoor use. I really don’t like it. It smells way to strong, and I suppose it’s my fault that I hate it.

I did not read the directions.

The bottle says this product is made from plant extracts that have a very strong smell (smells great (peppermint oil), but I can still smell the bug spray part and it was so strong I got a headache). Please test in a small area. Big clue there, I did not test in a small area I sprayed the entire downstairs. UGGG. It only took 24 hours to clear out.

I think it works great, I haven’t seen any spiders since then but I just can’t use it again inside the house. I think I can continue to use it on the outside perimeter of the house though. Not sure how good it will work in the rain though. That’s another problem with living in the Pacific Northwest.

They also want to give one bottle away to one of my readers. If you are interested in trying:

I learned that children exposed to synthetic pesticides early in life are much more likely to develop asthma. This natural version of repelling all the bugs Florida has to offer seems essential, give my 4 young children’s health. Thanks for the info about the string scent, though.

Can pesticides which are meant to be deadly to pests be truly safe to use around children, pets and the environment?

With EcoSMART, the answer is, “YES!”.

  31. Cynthia C on November 10th, 2009 6:13 am

I learned that their blends of natural plant oils are every bit as effective as synthetic chemicals, killing bugs fast without any toxins or harmful residues.

  32. Carol G on November 10th, 2009 1:07 pm

I have used the Ant & Roach spray, and have found it to be very effective against ants. Don’t know about roaches, since they are not a problem. Agree that the scent is extremely strong, but since I used it in only limited areas, I didn’t have anything but a pleasant scent lingering for quite awhile.

  33. Cori Westphal on November 12th, 2009 6:58 am

Not only do they have this insect spray, they also have an insect repellent that is made from natural plants oils. I live in MN and we are the ‘land of mosquitos’, right? We go thru tons of unhealthy, stinky, poisonous bug sprays each summer and I’d LOVE a healthier alternative!

Octopamine is a key insect neurotransmitter that regulates insect movement, behavior and metabolism. The blockage of the receptor activity prevents the transmission of the octopamine signals, which delivers quick knock down, kill and repellency against a wide variety of household pests such as cockroaches, ants, dust mites, flies, wasps, spiders, crickets, and fleas.

  86. Auriette on November 23rd, 2009 8:49 pm

The natural oils they use work to block the bugs’ neurotransmitters, but they’re safe for pets (I guess unless your pet is a bug).
