I was offered Blurt from Educational Insights to review and giveaway on Mom Start. I said yes but said that I would do the best review I can without opening the box because I want to donate it. I really want to make Christmas a happy time for others and my kids are too young to play this exciting game. One other reason I’m giving this game to charity is because it is for 3 or more players and well I may be a family of four but compressively we’re still only a family of two.
Blurt is a board game based on vocabulary, coming up with words. The object of the game is to make you way around the board before your opponents. One player will reads the definition of a word and it is up to you to be the first to guess the word. The game also has different skill levels. There are two sides to each card with one side being easier and more appropriate for younger kids.
For example, the definition might be "A Flat Moving Part That Sticks Out From The Body Of A Fish", then hopefully you can come up with the answer. When you do you blurt it out.
“Fin”
Then you would advance on the board. Simple but very mind boggling and for people like me nerve wracking. I have a love hate relationship for games like this. Especially when it’s played in a large adult party setting. Blurt would be perfect for that.
Blurt also wants one of my readers to receive one.

I learned that people like to paint their faces and turn upside down and make videos for youtube, definitely didn’t know that. And now you can buy kits to help make your chin character.

I learned two things:
1) Woman are generally better at Blurt than men.
2) Kids (12 to 16 year-olds) are better at Blurt than their parents.
I learned that Tim Walsh created Blurt and that he’s coming out with a new documentary film called “TOYLAND”

I learned that “Tim is a frequent speaker on toys and has appeared on many national TV and radio programs, including The Early Show on CBS, NPR’s All Things Considered, Fox’s After Breakfast, The History Channel’s Our Generation, and CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, among others.”
I learned that Tim Walsh was born on Christmas Day.
They invented Tribond? That’s a great game!
I would like this for Hubby’s class. SO FUN!! Thanks for the chance.

They also have TriBond…which I could have swore, there was an older edition. Great game!
My kids & I would love this! Just yesterday my son actually corrected his grandmas (my mothers) grammer. I was so proud! (my husband says I created a monster.) Oh, & on the blurt site I learned that it was a “Honors Winner” at the National Parenting Publications Awards
The owner, Tim Walsh, has written two books on the history of playthings.

Tim’s book WHAM-O Super Book was picked by NPR as “One of the best gift book of 2008″.
The company has been in business for 20 years.
They have a great book called Wham-O super book about 60 years of Wham-O toys.
I learned that In 1990 Tim Walsh co-invented TriBond, a board game that has sold over 3 million copies and was
inducted into the Games Magazine Hall of Fame
in 2000.
The Tribond games looks interesting. What do a flower shop owner, composer and wedding planner have in common?
They make arrangements!
This game sounds like a lot of fun while learning new words. Wham-0 is 60 years old.
Learned that ‘Blurt’ is a great vocabulary builder for kids
