A new yard to landscape, a new house to decorate, to use planters or not

IMG_1769 We moved into our new house about two weeks ago. I still have boxes here and there but we’re mostly unpacked. There are a few things still that need organizing and I need a lot of decorating to go around. Right now on the fireplace I have a glass vase full of fake flowers. I need to get some real ones. Perhaps I could use a planter there instead.

 

I found this site called Planter ixchange and found some really cute planters there.

I need to add some color to the walls. Perhaps I’m going to leave the color addition to objects for now. I don’t have time to paint while I’m chasing my two little ones. Hanging some planters in the windows would freshen up the outside. 

All PlantersWith our new house we  got a very cute small land area with a very small back yard. Thank goodness it’s small that means very little upkeep. I have a ton of options when it comes to landscaping and adding plants to the indoors and outdoors. I’m not very good with plants indoors. Keeping up with planters, indoor planters and outdoor planters is not my forte but I could always get creative with what I put in them. I could go a little more modern and use the planters for other things around the house like the toys. I’m a genius. This box would make a great modern toy box for the kids. I mean they want to climb into everything anyways..

I think outdoors though its a lot easier to water them. You can just turn on the sprinkler and let it go for a while. Then when you remember go turn it off. At least in the climate we live in it rains a lot. Maybe that’s why my plants outside live longer than the indoor plants. I just don’t know where to begin almost with all the options I have. I mean the whole house inside and out is like a canvas just waiting for me to decorate it.

EA presents Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Nintendo DS

HarrypotterThanks to my trip to San Francisco provided by EA Play, I have a copy of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince game on the DS to giveaway. I didn’t see the game on the DS but I saw it on the Wii and I was so impressed. I think EA pushed the graphics of the Wii to the max with this game. Rated E for everyone.

The Story
Harry Potter and the Half Blood PrinceIn Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the Video Game, Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the casdstle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.

Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different, but equally unavoidable adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates. And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealously, but determined not to show her feelings. Yet as romance blossoms throughout Hogwarts, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

Gameplay
Like earlier video game releases in the Harry Potter franchise, the action in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince the Video Game revolves around the exploration of Hogwarts and the action that results from what you uncover. The game features a variety of play modes and unique features. During their adventures, players will have a chance to engage in exciting wizard duels, mix and brew magical ingredients in potions class and take to the air to lead the Gryffindor Quidditch team to victory. Players may even get sidetracked by Ron’s romantic entanglements as they journey towards a dramatic climax and discover the identity of the Half-Blood Prince.

Lose-A-Palooza and Weight Watchers are raising money for Share Our Strength

The Lose For Good campaign was created to empower people to get healthier while also giving back to others in need. And as part of that campaign, we’ll be launching a one-day event where everyone can get involved and would love to have your support.

Safeway and Warner Brothers Want you eating right doc.

LogoBugs bunny and the gang are pushing healthy food at your local Safeway; you can find it labeled as Eating Right. I’ve seen them on the isles advertising healthy food. You can find them in the produce section, frozen food section and even in the canned food section. You can find them everywhere in Safeway.

EREatingRightWe shop at Safeway from time to time. I even used to be a Safeway Survey taker but I ran out of time for that so I left that program. But Safeway really does care about consumers opinions. They know that health is a concern for parents and getting kids to eat right is a challenge.

Kids Mixed Fruit Fruit Cups - 4-4 OzWith the help of Warner Brothers Safeway has a new product line and they sent my family some samples. They are regular items that have healthier benefits than others. For example, they sent us a can of cheese ravioli that you just pop the top off and throw in the microwave, well it’s whole grain macaroni. I’ve learned about the importance of whole grains. It’s a substance our bodies need and better than plain flour. They also sent us a snack bar and fruit cup to enjoy a healthy well rounded lunch.

Kids Mixed Berry Milk Chocolate Coating Chewy Bars - 6-.88 OzEverything tasted fine and was a welcome convenience since I’m still unpacking and moving into my new house. It’s been fun in a way because I keep getting new boxes in the mail and then I can go back to an old box. Some of the junk I have is so old that I completely forgot about it.

Mom Start Saving – my new meme

Yes I do think there are a ton of memes out there but what is one more. Especially when it’s all about helping other moms save money.

I purchased three papers today because I thought there was going to be five inserts. My papers only had three. All of the Red Plum inserts were missing. I’m sad because there were supposed to be pop tart coupons in the red plum. I’m going to have to ask my friends and find out if their papers had them in them.

Albertsons is having a great three day sale on Kelloggs products.

1.88 each and there are  lot of dollar off coupons out there right now and if you combine them with the doubler coupons that were in the Pacific Northwest you can get them for free with overage.

It was mentioned that in Oregon if you purchase five then you get another 1.88 off of all five but I can’t verify that because I didn’t try it in Washington.

Meal/Menu Plan Monday Link Up

It’s about time I get back into the swing of things with my savings for my blog and for my family. One of the best ways to start saving is to make a meal plan. Then when you go to the grocery store you have a specific list and you can match up coupons.

Monday – Left Overs

Tuesday – MOMS Club

Wednesday – Left Overs

Thursday – Egg burritos

Friday – Sausage and Biscuits

Saturday – Poppy Seed Chicken

Sunday – Left Overs

 

I will need to go to the grocer store and purchase some banana’s, and chicken. I have some doubler coupons for Albertsons that I got in the Sunday paper and they expire on Tuesday so I’m going to have to pick up some things with my coupons. Probably going to get some poptarts and veggies oh and coffee creamer.
