My Description:

REBECCA FREZZA May 2009 high res photo credit Ken Cox I think that just knowing that Roscoe Orman is on one of the tracks makes me feel like muppets are dancing in the background. If you watch Sesame Street, you know that they have hip artists redo the lyrics to their hit songs and sing with the muppets. It just makes kids and adults happy to bounce to familiar tunes you hear on the radio. Putting in this cd gave me this vibe.

Hip, hopping jumping action comes alive in this cd. I want to get on my toy motorcycle and ride while listening to these tunes. These are great motivational songs to get your kids bouncing and giggling.

I also feel this would make a great stocking stuffer.

New Trailer Release for Gotta Catch Santa Claus

I really want to see Gotta Catch Santa Claus and I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s because William Shatner plays the voice of Santa Claus or perhaps it’s because it is a CGI. I’m not really sure it could also be because it’s about proving that Santa Claus is real.

Scheduled to be broadcast nationally on ABC Family during their annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming block, this funny and exciting new film is enjoyable for the entire family and features six fun new holiday songs.

The trailer is here:

Listening to KSM Read Between the Lines Review

clip_image001I was sent a review stream of music by ksm. The new album Read Between the Lines is like stepping back into the 80’s but with some No Doubt vibe intertwined without the depressive parts. I felt like I needed to bleach my hair blond and put on my leggings. (good thing all of these things are in style again)

My son was more into it than my daughter but my son has an ear for more genres of music. You know from banging on a drum all day to screaming just for fun.

The all girl rock band fall into in the age range of 15 to 18, and they all play their own instruments and write their own songs. That’s a lot of talent in the five girls. Their cover of Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me” was used for the new ABC Family show Ten Things I Hate About You, and their latest single is called “Saturdays and Sundays.”   They’re currently on tour with fellow Disney artist Mitchel Musso, and just finished opening for Demi Lovato.  The girls are also doing a series of short webisodes about their album and life on the road  (I’ve included a link above).

Free Red Velvet Cheesecake

Did that get your attention?

It got mine when I read it. The Cheesecake factory has a new kind of cheesecake out and I haven’t tried it yet. I wanted to last time I’m there but it’s hard to break away from my Godiva habit.

To get the free cheesecake you need to make a very small donation of soup.

Per The Cheesecake Factory website:

The Cheesecake Factory has partnered with Feeding America for The ‘Drive Out Hunger’ Tour. Throughout the month of September, in support of Hunger Action Month, we’ll be touring 30 cities in 30 days holding an event each day to collect cans of soup benefiting the local food bank. Join us in supporting this cause by bringing two cans of soup to the event at each city and receive:

- A complimentary slice of Stefanie’s Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake™ – for the first 500 guests who donate two cans of soup.

- A special gift to use on a future visit to The Cheesecake Factory® for every guest who donates.

- Being a part of the bigger picture by getting an official ‘Drive Out Hunger’ Tour photo taken and uploaded to our Photo Mosaic page online.

- Live radio remotes featuring your favorite local radio station personalities and music.

Yndico Is book and song review and #giveaway

A description from the back cover of Yndico Is::

imageYndico accidentally causes a rip in the fabric of time and steps through to a dimension where past, present and future merge simultaneously. Will she find her way home guided by the enigmatic Issy, a child from everywhen and the holder of incredible secrets and enormous powers?

.

Yndico Is (Collector’s Edition) is the first book written by singer, songwriter Sandra Olajide. She writes a story about a young girl that gets lost and has a hard time find home. She’s not lost in the normal way people get lost. She’s lost in the fabric of time and that makes this story a bit of a science fiction. It is an extremely unique novel and very difficult to categorize; looking like a children’s book, I forgot that it wasn’t a children’s book. When it arrived, I handed it off to my children and they opened it to find there weren’t pictures on every page.  Yndico Is will be enjoyed most by tweens and older.

I enjoyed it. I liked the character Issy. I like that at the core of finding your way you find that you are you and no one can take that away from you. It reminds me of Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz and how all along she had the power to take herself home, only she had to believe she did.

The first book in a series, Yndico Is (Collector’s Edition) is part fantasy, part science fiction. It is also a story that will get you thinking and will leave you wanting that next book to be out sooner.  The second book in the series is scheduled to go on sale on February 7, 2010.

Mom Start Saving – Getting into a groove

I’m still trying to spread the word about my new meme. I’m also trying to get back into the groove of not spending extra money because with buying a new house we don’t have extra money anymore. I think I’m going to work on my budget this coming week and over the course of the next two months my husband and I are going to figure out how much we spend on our new utilities.

We are going to downgrade our trash can to save a little money

We are not turning on cable.

We only have internet – this is a must

We need to stop going out to eat and I’m going to be joining Menu Plan Monday every week

We need to make a grocery list and find a coupon for every item on it.

We need to try and make my blog more profitable

We need to work on potty training my daughter to save on diapers.

We need to do better with using coupons.

I need to stop getting coffee and being lazy by going to Mc Donald’s just because it’s only 5 minutes away. Living in the city now is biting my budget. ;-)

I think for October my grocery goal is going to be 400.00 including Costco and I’m going to go down 100.00 dollars if I make that goal to see if I can get down to 200.00 dollars or less.

Here are some Great Deals

Use these to place an order online at Dominos for delivery or pick up. You can place an order in the future too like tomorrow for lunch, or your busy night later this week for dinner.
BANLCH – Large cheese pizza $5.99
CINNASTIX – free order of Cinnastix with any online order (rumored to work
for delivery only)
BAN5OFF- additional pizza for $5 off
BAN3L4T – B1G1 free
ONLINE – free order of Cinnastix
I have not tried these codes myself. I’ve read that you will only be able to use two codes per order. One person said they used the last two codes to get 2 large one topping pizzas and Cinnastix for $12.58. I just used the last two on two specialty pizza’s and cinnastix. It worked just fine.

Your Baby Can Read Review and #giveaway

Your Baby Can Read - Success StoriesWe were sent the introduction kit of your baby can read. It came with a DVD for the kids to watch and instructional DVD for me to watch and flash cards and a book. I’ve been quite impressed with the quality of the book and flash cards because the kids have been playing with them unsupervised.

I’ve been too busy to sit down with them and work with them for the amount of time every day that the program really requires to work. I do believe it works though, especially after reading all of the material and seeing the charts and graphs about what to expect on word recognition verses actual reading and how it increases exponentially starting around age three.

Your Baby Can Read introduces words using pictures. In a way, it’s just backwards memorization. You see the word and have to remember what the picture looks like. So the word is no longer abstract. They can see all the letters. So the symbols come together in their brain.

parentsThinking back on blogging while moving into a new house, I should have taken a break. That way I would have more time to dedicate to doing reviews, but right now I have to spend so much time unpacking and cleaning everything that I’m really not sitting down with my kids and teaching them. They are learning but I know my little sponges could learn how to read if I would follow all of the instructions that were provided in the DVD. And if I would read more to them. I don’t think once a day is enough and that’s about all I’m doing right now. Read to your children that’s what I need to do and you should to. The props that you get from these Your Baby Can Read sets are pretty cool though. It’s just memorization but isn’t that all learning is sometimes.
