Wow Wow Wubbzy lives in a purple tree and that delights my daughter Zoe to no end. It’s purple, it’s fun, it’s cute and exactly what you expect from Nickelodeon Studios. The Health administration is predicting a very serious cold and flu season, so teach your children about healthy hygiene habits before they go back to school and get exposed to classroom germs, like MRSA or H1N1 virus. Send school germs packing by encouraging your children to drop their book bags, take off their shoes and leave their coats at the door when they walk in. The Solution:

Besides giving you medical advice that I am not qualified to give I can tell you to be smart. Keep surfaces clean, cover your mouth with your arm not your hand, wash your hands and disinfect toys. Some of the best advice I was given was given to my by my grandmother. She told me that I need to not be so hard on myself when it comes to keeping the house clean. I have to toddlers and they are a handful, (she would know she had six). Just disinfect the toys once a week with Lysol or bleach. Also, with kids back in school, parents need be prepared for what’s being sent home with their children. And I don’t mean homework – germs. This was actually one of the topics we talked about in MOMS Club. It’s that time of year. Cold and flu season.

Uncrustables Curbed my hunger when I was pregnant and breastfeeding at the same time

Their Uncrustables sandwiches are a wholesome lunchtime or after-school snack option, providing the protein that kids need along with the great sandwich tastes that they love. About My Family’s Obsession:

We have loved uncrustables since they first came out. My husband found them in the freezer section and wanted to try them out. It was almost like love at first site, but more like love at first bite. Ever since then we almost always have some in the freezer. Thank God that Costco sells them. Yes I really do thank God for small things like this. Please don’t think I’m a lazy mom that can’t throw peanut butter and jelly on some bread. I can, and do but these are so good and fast when we are on the go.

When I was pregnant and breastfeeding at the same time, I couldn’t get enough food in me. I was loosing weight and my doctor was pleading with me to stop breastfeeding. I said no, and tried to eat more food. Peanut butter and jelly came to my rescue. I ate about three a day with other meals too. I was eating them left and right. I just loved them, and they didn’t make me sick like dairy did at the time. My favorite flavor is grape and peanut butter, but my son Miles he loves the strawberry flavor the best. I think Zoe, likes peanut butter the best.

We eat them as midnight snacks and I love to eat them as close to frozen as I can. I love to give them to the kids this way too because then there is less of a mess and it lasts longer because there is more chewing. Be careful though, you don’t want to crack a tooth.

Start Collection for Operation Christmas Child

The world’s largest Christmas Project, Operation Christmas Child, this year will bring together parents and children as they shop, decorate, and fill empty shoe boxes with goodies for 8 million struggling kids in more than 100 countries.

If you have not heard about this before you should take a look. Kids and families wrap and pack empty shoe boxes with simple items most people take for granted, including toys, school supplies, and toothbrushes. A lot of churches do this, that’s where my family first learned about this wonderful project. It’s so easy to do too. Operation Christmas Child collects the gift boxes and hand-delivers them to hurting children around the world using whatever means necessary—sea containers, trucks, trains, airplanes, helicopters, boats, camels, even dog sleds.

Anyone can participate in Operation Christmas Child right now. The project is a massive year-round effort, requiring months of organization and preparation.

Family Activity Ideas:

Go shopping together to pick out items for your shoe box gift. Check out money saving blogs for great deals to maximize your shoe box gift shopping budget.
Make home-made wrapping paper together and wrap the shoe box. Step-by-step packing instructions are available at www.samaritanspurse.org.
Write a note of encouragement to the child who will receive the shoe box gift. Consider including a photo and an address, inviting the shoe box recipient to write back.
Look at a map and guess which of the 100 receiving countries may be the shoe box’s final destination. Register the shoe box gift using the EZ Give donation form.
