I’ve always been brought up to think that “milk does a body good”. Now you see the milk campaigns with stars everywhere. They have a milk mustache and a smile. Great campaign right? I know I’ve seen tons, it’s almost like Sesame Street, if you haven’t done the milk campaign you’re a nobody. Actors from Dr. Phil to winners from The Biggest Loser have been seen sporting the milk mustache.
Now you can go to a website to learn more about milk and find some other mustaches. WhyMilk.com.
I like learning about milk because I know it’s still great for my kids and I find learning
about nutrition important for not only me but my family as a whole. We eat yogurt and we use milk and yogurt to make smoothies. My kids adore chocolate milk and my daughter asks for it every time we have breakfast and when we go to Mc. Donald’s. I love to have hot chocolate made of milk. We drink none fat milk but I love whole milk, it’s so good. Just trying to keep the calories down.
As you can find on Why Milk, Milk is a nutrient powerhouse and it’s naturally that way. We get calcium, vitamin D, protein, potassium, and vitamin A. Milk increased our bone health. My step father has been drinking milk his whole life and still drinks a large glass of milk with dinner. He never misses and he’s never had a broken bone and he accounts that to milk.
Regularly drinking milk during the growing years is associated with greater height, bone size and bone mineralization, while research has linked skipping milk to reduced height and increased fracture rates.
Forearm fracture rates of children and adolescents have increased sharply in the United States in recent years, and many researchers are worried that falling milk consumption and displacement of milk by carbonated drinks may be a factor.

What do you use when you go out with your baby and you need to lay them down. Do you buy pads that you throw away every time. Do you use something that is paper thin and your child is uncomfortable. Have you wondered if there is anything better out there. I’ve wondered but I haven’t every sought out anything. I’ve used paper to change my baby. I’ve placed them on blankets before to change them or so they can sit on someone else’s carpet and I won’t be afraid that they are going to spit up and make a huge mess.
Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad may be the answer. I haven’t tried it, I’m about done with the baby stages and my kids are huge. I mean that in a healthy way. The plush pad seems like it would make a great baby mat.

While I was working in retail I was around a lot of interesting toys. I also heard a lot of opinions on different kinds of toys. Some people would come in and say I hate toys that promote war, and others would say I don’t want my kids playing with guns.
Based on the idea of the Toy Soldiers, Kaskey Kids created toy Sports Guys. Brice and Christy Kaskey founded Kaskey Kids in 2001. Christy is a mother of four sports loving children and she saw how much they enjoyed sports in all of their play. She remembered playing Cowboys and Indians and remembered filling every bucked with little action figures. So she wanted to find some sports action figures for her children. Thence came Sports Guys and Girls.

Each set of Sports figures comes in a resalable plastic case. You can purchase action figures in Baseball, Soccer, Football and Hockey. This particular set that you see above includes:
Red and Blue teams face off. A fully adjustable scoreboard keeps the game as exciting and realistic as possible!
Set includes:
Enter To Win One Set of your Choice. We had these at the boutique I used to work at and we would sell these really quickly. They are a unique toy and inspire imaginative play.
Visit Kaskey Kids and tell me which set is for your kids.

One Step Ahead was very generous and gracious when I contacted them and asked if they would like to be on Mom Start for a review and giveaway.
One Step Ahead loves mommy bloggers and for me I was able to choose from few different products and I chose the Jumbo Hopscotch Splash Mat. The Splash Mat retails for 24.95 and is recommended for ages two and up.
I didn’t read the directions so this is my story. I took i tout of the box and hooked up the hose to it. I was surprised that it had to fill up before it worked. It didn’t take long though and then the water was spraying out in between each of the numbers.
My daughter didn’t like the water coming out very strong so I turned the pressure down and then she would play in it. She’s not very into getting wet but I was able to encourage her and she was counting up and down repeating after me. We had fun on it until the mosquitoes came out.
I really liked it and I played on it with them. I haven’t had any problems with it. I found it very slow to release all of the water in it. We live in Washington so I expect it to get yucky before too long, but we’ll enjoy it for as long as we can. She can practice reading her numbers and we can remember colors and the shape of squares. She played with the little sandbags as well. It came with four and it was still very difficult for her to share one with her brother, but she did.

One of the moms in my MOMS Club is always asking where she can purchase the POM Juice. I guess that Costco used to carry the POM Brand pure pomegranate juice. I see it everywhere now. The first time I had some was in Austin with my sister. She loves the stuff. I only had a taste because I was afraid to drink it all myself.
POM recently sent me some juice to try out. I enjoyed it. My kids love it and I watered it down and they still loved it. I think I actually like it better watered down a bit but it’s so good for you.
According to the POM Wonderful website they have been tested and backed by medical research for improving Cardiovascular health, Prostate Health, and it’s a verified Antioxidant Superpower. MMM Bring me the power.
It’s extremely healthy, it has quite a few calories per serving but it’s packed with health.
If you have not heard yet, Sears and Kmart brought 15 bloggers to Chicago this past week to show us how they are updating their home line. They paid for all expenses and sent us home with different sheets. I just wanted to share another video that I took while I was there. My camera battery died and all I was left with was my Vado. This next video is an introduction to the new furniture that Sears and Kmart have and exclusive with. Country Living is now going to be featured in all Sears and Kmart locations. They are able to product quality furniture at a wonderful price point. I was amazed at learning how they can still have quality and be wonderfully priced.
Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response”. You should go to Kailani’s site and link up with Mr. Linky, but be sure and answer her question.
My Question:
Have you ever been star struck?
I was in Chicago on Wednesday this week meeting some of the best bloggers in fashion and mommy hood. I also met the design team from Sears Holding Corporation. I was completely star struck. I felt like a little newbie among the pros. Here’s who I met.
Liz from CoolMomPicks
Tanya from Mommy Goggles
Amanda from Mommy Mandy
Gabrielle from DesignMom
Miranda from KeeperOfTheCheerios
Paul from TheSmartStylist
Jennifer from TheMomSalon
Stacy from MomCentral
Erica from 5MinutesForMom
Janel from ApartmentTherapy Chicago
Piera from JollyMom
Christine from FromDatesToDiapers
Stephanie from AdventuresInBabyWearing
Felicia from GoGrahamGo
Lori from ACowboysWife
and a whole other cast of characters that I will introduce you to as I have time, but it was amazing. They are all just people and knowledgeable and helpful. I learned so much about Kmart, Sears and social media.
So coming back from Chicago I was on the plane to Seattle and I can’t believe how much turbulence there was. The Pilot warned us before we took off that there was going to be a little weather but a little was an understatement. I love to fly. I don’t want you to think I’m afraid of every little bump there is but I was nauseous there was so much turbulence. I’m still on the plane and now we’re experiencing normal turbulence but it’s a lot better now.
The pilot knew the weather was going to put us behind so he said he was going 900 mph with was as fast as the plane could go without falling apart. Did I want to hear that? Nope. However, he did say that he was the “A” team and I did feel confident even though I was still afraid. He did the best he could with all the information he was given. I mean who expects a 1500 mile storm to appear?
He was going fast to keep time and make it in early or perhaps he was trying to beat the storm. However, the storm beat us literally. We had to travel 700 miles out of the way and ended up in Canada to get away from the storm. I was holding onto my arm holder and I bumped into my neighbor. I’m hoping the rest of the flight goes well.
Since I’m in a bit of a negative mood here I want to complain about how packed in these seats are on this plane. My flight to Chicago, I had a little big of leg room. This flight, I have bumped the person in front of me 4 times. She’s probably extremely annoyed but she’s been kind enough to not even give me a dirty look. Thanks! I’m honestly not sure that I could have been that nice. Oh wait, she finally gave me a glare.
This last row on the plane does not fit. There is no room. I can not recline and I can barely fit my computer on the tray table. My tray table doesn’t even fit. I can’t wait to get home and I have at least another hour and 55 minutes left. Good grief, it’s like the flight that’s never going to end. But this isn’t my worst flight experience ever. I have a lot of flight stories for someone that doesn’t travel a lot.
