Contigo Spill Proof Cups Review and #giveaway

KidsAutoSeal_Full_classicboyThis is a fine example of the power of blog marketing. I saw these cups on a blog and thought I have to buy those. It was amazing when I saw them in Costco and then my husband came home with them. We purchased a set of four at Costco. Now Contigo contacted me and asked if I wanted to do a review. I said, I don’t need any to review. We already have them.

I do not recommend them for any children under three. They are a little hard to push on to drink out of. But as far as I can tell they don’t leek. I find that they are great for me to drink out of and my daughter loves the colors. She’s very excited to learn how to use them. So when she has more strength and coordination I know we’re going to be using these all the time.

They are BPA free which is great and means you can put them in the dishwasher and not have to worry about chemicals being released.

Product Description:

The AUTOSEAL® Kids Mug is the perfect mug for your 4 to 12 year old. They may outgrow their sippy cups, but they never outgrow spilling.

Benefits:KidsAutoSeal_Full View_pink

  • Patented AUTOSEAL® lid is 100% leak-proof and 100% spill-proof. Lid is also one piece, meaning no loose parts.
  • Drinking made easy! Press to sip. Release to seal. AUTOSEAL® automatically seals between sips to ensure no spills.
  • Contoured body makes this mug easy to hold for smaller hands.
  • Non-skid bottom pad helps keep the mug in place.
  • Will hold 9 oz. of your child’s favorite beverage.
  • BPA FREE. Made with polypropylene (PP) #5.
  • Phthalate- and PVC-free.

So we’re not using them yet but we do look forward to using them. My daughter loves using cups and being a big girl but I hate the spills. Even it it’s just water I tend to freak out. So these are great spill proof cups. Keiki Kuddlerz Ring Sling #Giveaway

image

I really do enjoy slings. Slings bring you closer to your child. I do believe it because it was after carrying around my son in the sling that he really seemed to bond with me. Now my little man really loves me.

I haven’t tried the slings from Keiki Kuddlerz but I spoke with her about doing a giveaway. She has some really great fabric choices.

The slings fit women sizes 0 to 26 comfortably and men up to 6’2".  They easily adjust to fit any body shape or size!

They are lined with a coordinating, soft, 100% cotton flannel. Traditionally ring slings are not lined, however they were the first to add lining providing sturdiness and comfort while still remaining cool and breathable. The slings are Triple on triple stitched at the rings for strength.

About Keike Kuddlerz Ring Slings:

Keike Kuddlerz started with a necessity combined with a love. The necessity came when their second child was born. Her oldest only being 18 months old, and being a Mom of 2 under 2 I understand the need for an extra set of arms and she turned to slinging to fill the need of caring for a newborn while chasing my rambunctious 1 year old. She also was like me and needed color! She finally settled on the style of sling they now sell.

What started as a need for my own sling, soon attracted comments and requests from family and friends. Those quickly turned into a small business venture that has taken us 2 years of growth and almost 1000 slings in sales! That’s a lot of late nights of sewing! We’ve recently added to both our intimate family with the birth of another baby in June of 2008 and the expansion of our business opening an official website. And with new growth, comes more love for slinging. There is nothing like slinging a newborn, keeping them so close cuddled up to you.

Hip Fusion Designs Review

About Hip Fusion Designs:

hfd-adNeida is the designer and she makes beautiful jewelry. I received a necklace from her. and it was so beautiful it is still around my neck. I told her I only take it off when I go in the shower, and she said, leave it on it’s water proof, so now I don’t take it off. I love it. You will too. Pictures do not do her jewelry justice. NOPE. There is so much depth to her designs. It’s like looking at a 3D image. Just fantastic.

Neida uses dichroic glass which is two colors. Amazingly, dichroic glass is even commonly used in the laser industry and in scientific measuring equipment.  It’s even used as filters for 35 mm cameras and as headlights for cars. She also uses metal clay is a revolutionary and incredible material made up of tiny particles of 100% pure silver or bronze (or even gold or copper for that matter) which are suspended in an organic binder to create this clay-like material in its raw state. Combining all of this creates art. Hip Fusion art. That’s why she is Hip Fusion Designs.

Carolina Pad School Supplies with attitude

carolinapad

Carolina Pad sent me some beautiful school supplies. They were so very exciting to look at. My school supplies were always so plain. The notepad of paper was a solid blue, red, foldercarolinapadgreen or purple. These from Carolina pad were brown with stripes or brown with circles.

I think I would have to say that their chocolate collection is my favorite. I’m really into brown and deep colors right now. Dark colors are wonderful.

Carolina Pad products can be found at Amazon.com, Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Office Max, Staples, Office Depot, and other major retailers.

The products are well designed and include pockets. Most would be able to hold a USB drive and business cards. So with Carolina Pad School Supplies you get style and function. These are great for all ages. Send your children to school with style.

Smart Knit Kids Seamless Socks #giveaway

seemless socks

I contacted Smart Knit Kids and asked them if I could do a review. It’s really hard to find socks that stay on my kids feet. We usually only get socks from The Gap. It’s also hard to find socks at a decent price that are solid colors that stay on feet. Now The Smart Knit Kids Seamless socks are 6.95 a pair but they fit for a larger age range than most socks and they do stay on feet. My son can pull them off but they don’t just fall off as he’s crawling. I like how soft they feel and how elastic they are. They stretch really well.

sizechartWhen I contacted them all I wanted was a pair of purple socks for my little purple girl. Well, they were so generous, they send me one of each color in the right size for both of my children, their sizes run differently as I said above.

Both of my children fall into the small category.

About SmartKnitKids:

Since its launch in 2003, SmartKnitKIDS continues to find new markets and grow every year.  Super soft material and a seam free design make it the most comfortable kid’s sock on the market.
SmartKnitKIDS come in a color for every personality: white, black, pink, purple, and navy.  Ankle, crew and knee-high styles are available up to a youth size 8.

From Whirlpool

With temperatures heating up, many consumers will look to cool down and stay hydrated with a refreshing glass of water. To drink with confidence while escaping the summer sizzle, Whirlpool reminds consumers that this season serves as a thirst quenching reminder to change the water filter in the refrigerator. For this reason, the world’s largest appliance manufacturer declares July as the first official “Change Your Refrigerator Water Filter” month.
Drinking filtered water from the refrigerator is good for the family, the environment and the wallet. Consumers can drink with confidence knowing that their refrigerator water filter serves as a last line of defense against unseen contaminants such as lead and mercury. It is important to note that these contaminants and other filtered substances are not present in all users’ water, but if they are, a filter can address this. Many consumers, however, are not aware that it is necessary to change the refrigerator water filter every six months to reduce contaminants and help ensure an uninterrupted supply of fresh filtered drinking water.
“Most of us drink water everyday but may not think about the fact that water travels through miles of infrastructure — steel, plastic and copper pipes — before ever reaching homes, potentially picking up impurities along the way,” said Will Mayfield, category manager of refrigerator water filtration, Whirlpool Corporation. “Based on this it’s critical to change the filter regularly to reduce contaminants. At the height of summer months, Change Your Refrigerator Water Filter month is a perfect reminder to make changing the refrigerator water filter a habit.”
By using two water filters per year, a refrigerator system can filter the equivalent of 3,000* bottles of water, saving over $600 a year versus purchasing a leading brand of bottled water. In addition, according to a 2007 Fast Company article, it is estimated that 38 billion water bottles are thrown into the trash every year. Consumers can do their part to help the environment by making the switch to filtered water from the refrigerator. “Using and maintaining a water filtration system with a NSF certified filter, like those in the refrigerator, saves money and offers fresher water and peace-of-mind,” says Mayfield.
To make changing the filter quick and easy, many refrigerators have an easy-access system, located conveniently at the bottom in the grille or just inside the refrigerator, in the back near the refrigerator’s ceiling. For added convenience, Whirlpool Corporation provides an automatic water filter replacement program that sends filters right to consumers’ homes, with no cost for shipping. For more information on replacing your filter for any Whirlpool portfolio product, visit http://www.whirlpool.com/everysixmonths.

From Kodak

Did you know that “Smile Week” is August 10th – 16th?! That’s right! So why not take a stance with Kodak and encourage people to smile, while even dropping some compliments along the way? J

Purdue University students Cameron Brown and Brett Westcott – better known as the “Compliment Guys” – are taking their show on the road beginning this coming Monday to help bring smiles to people’s faces . Their trip is part of a summer tour sponsored by Kodak to spread compliments and smiles to U.S. cities.

Brett and Cameron started a weekly ritual in 2008 outside the Purdue University chemistry building with a “Free Compliments” sign, offering kind and encouraging words to people who walked past. They’re also doing it on Twitter at www.twitter.com/ComplimentGuys.

They’ll be visiting 10 cities from July 20 through July 30—I can send you the whole list if you want. They’ll be posting videos from their trip, as well as blogging about their experiences at http://www.brightsidetour.com/.

Says Cameron, “Making people smile and brightening their day is something we love to do.”  We encourage you to share this story with your readers and hopefully they will smile at this cool tour and realize the importance of giving compliments to their families and friends on a regular basis. You’ll see the enormous positive reaction if you check out the Twitter account and how easily Cameron and Brett were able to cheer someone up, just by offering them a simple #compliment.

From Clorox

A new free resource for moms from The What to Expect Foundation and Clorox called “What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart.”  This guide gives parents helpful tips for a healthy home during each milestone of a child’s first few years.

download for free here

The name of this guide may sound familiar to you if you’re familiar with Heidi Murkoff’s What to Expect Series.  Actually, Heidi worked with The What to Expect Foundation and Clorox to develop the “What to Expect: Guide to a Healthy Home” in 2006.  The “What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart” is a new supplement to the original healthy home guide that’s shorter and is broken down by your child’s age.

A few healthy tips from the guide include:

· Set up small changing stations with baby wipes and diapers in multiple rooms in your house to make diaper changing easier on you… especially if you have multiple floors.

· Disinfect frequently-touched surfaces in the home – such as doorknobs, light switches and hard toys – with disinfecting wipes to help prevent the spread of germs.

· If a stuffed toy isn’t machine-washable, put it in a plastic bag in the freezer overnight to help get rid of dust mites.

Try this neat trick: The last page of the guide is a great print-out for moms to post on the fridge or distribute to playgroup members for quick tips.

From Lysol

Americans’ kitchens actually harbored more germs in 2009 than in 2008.  Despite the threat of H1N1 and other illnesses, Americans kitchen hygiene habits have gone downhill.  Key findings include:200368629-001

  • The UK, Germany and Saudi Arabia all had cleaner kitchen sink faucets than the U.S.
  • Kitchen surfaces (faucets and sponges) harbor more germs than bathroom surfaces – faucets and sponges are dramatically worse than the toilet flush handle and bathroom door handle. The U.S. fared very well globally in other parts of the home, but our kitchens are hotbeds for germs.
  • Despite American home owners claiming to clean their kitchen sink faucets (specifically the handles) once per week, 60 percent of faucets analyzed failed the hygiene test – dramatically worse than 2008 when only 25 percent of kitchen faucets failed.
  • The new study also found that 65 percent of Americans claim to clean or change their kitchen sponge or cloth every month or more , but 70 percent analyzed failed the hygiene test-  only a 5 percent improvement over 2008, when 75 percent failed the hygiene test.

Star Wars Mimobot amuses my DH to no end

http://www.mimoco.com/sites/default/files/sw4/vaderprequel_04.jpgThis was really great news that I found out tonight. My DH is getting a lot of amusement out of his Star Wars Mimobot.

Now you might be asking what is a Mimobot?

My husband knew right away what it was. I was able to choose from the Mimobot USB Flash Drive collection. I said anything from the Star Wars collection please. They sent us Darth Vader. This USB Flash Drive is a 2.0 Gigabyte drive. It’s great for holding files, photos, extremely small programs. What was so much fun is that it’s Star Wars. They make quite a few different nerdy awesome USB Flash Drives, so for men like my DH it’s a great gift idea.

I was excited too. It also came with a little carrying bag to keep it safe and protected in. But the point of my review is that my GEEKY man loves it and was showing it off. He was pushing it up to the camera when we were doing a video chat one night while I was on my adventure with the kids.

Do I need to say that it’s so easy to use? Ok, I will just in case. I mean,  you plug it in, drag your files over and it’s copied and then you copy them to your new machine. Makes transferring files or working in a computer lab a synch.

The Swahili Inspired T-shirt line Ufadili Review

Ufadili sent my family a green shirt that is a size four for my daughter. Actually I picked a boys shirt in hopes that my son can wear it as well and it’s quite big on my son it still looks absolutely adorable. I hope that it’s ok, but I’m still finding myself without pictures of my children. It’s all of these trips and life going crazy my pictures are somewhere and I hope to update this post and all the others with personal photos. I mean this green shirt I picked out is of a monkey and the word monkey under it in Swahili.

My son as you know has red hair and this green shirt looks amazing against all those red curls. He also has blue eyes and, yes I am one proud mamma. I’ve washed it and there is hardly any shrinkage because it still feels my daughter. The 100% cotton shirts are packaged in 100% eco friendly packaging and to me that is wonderful because for companies to fully go green they need to change their packaging.

About Ufadili:

Clothing that teaches you and your children how to say things in different languages, shares unique and interesting facts, and they also give 30% of the profits from your purchases  to helping people, animals and the planet?

That is Ufadili.

Ufadili was founded on the idea of a place where the simple decision of buying a shirt for a child or a onesie for another be a great connecting experience that connected us artistically, culturally, educationally and charitably to the rest of the world. In this spirit came the concept for Ufadili , a name inspired by the Swahili word " ufadhili " meaning "kindheartedness, goodwill".

Baby Legs Review

Product Description:

BabyLegs LLC began as a solution to keep little legs warm, and now the uses are wide. Nicole Donnelly created BabyLegs to keep her dear daughter, Sara’s, little legs warm, while she was diaper free to allow bad rashes to heal. This impromptu invention not only allowed Sara’s rash to heal, but also protected her from many elements, made diaper changes quick and easy, kept her knees protected while crawling, and provided sun protection. BabyLegs can now be found all over the world.

Baby Legs, do you know where we wear them all. I have put them on my arms. I actually love to wear them on my arms. I have purchased two different pairs. One of them is the British Flag and I love to pull them up over my shoulders and down to my wrists. They keep my arms warm as I am always cold and they just feel supportive and help my arthritis.

Why are they great for my children?

Here I am again without my photos of my children in the product. My husband doesn’t like them. He thinks they are only for girls, but I thought they looked so cute on my little man, esp the British Flag one. They keep him from getting carpet burn and keep his legs warm when he was only wearing onesies. Now that he’s wearing pants and shorts we don’t use our baby legs very often.

Baby legs just sent a new pair to me to review however, I can’t review them right now because I’m not at home. My husband has them and will keep them until I return from Texas, Chicago, and Boston. WOW, being a BLOGGER is AWESOME.

See Kai Run Shoe Review

Have I told you lately that I love you.

Have I told you there’s no one else above you.

You fill my heart with gladness

You take away all my sadness

Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.

See Kai Run, your shoes fit my kids. Your shoes excite my kids, well lets be honest they excite me more than my children. They are so colorful. Why am I writing this post? I’m writing this post because See Kai Run sent me a wonderful pair of shoes to review. I picked them out knowing of course that I would love them. I mean, I have purchased two pairs previously, and then was allowed to pick out a pair for a feature on my blog. Want to see what I picked out?

I hate that I can’t find a photo of my son wearing them. He loves his new shoes because he knows when we put them on he gets to go outside. ;-)

These are the Carter it retails for 40.00 and is completely made of leather.

  • Handcrafted from butter-soft sheepskin leather
  • Flexible rubber sole – healthy for developing feet but sturdy enough for outdoor play!
  • Generous width and wide toe box for plenty of wiggle room!
  • Padded collars for extra comfort
  • Adjustable Velcro closures make shoes easy to get on and ensure a great fit
  • Breathable leather insole and lining

I’m missing a ton of fun right now my kids are in the tub with my parents. I can hear them all giggling. These are really great shoes in my opinion. I’m always going to love See Kai Run. You can read my past reviews of See Kai Run here.
