Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response”. You should go to Kailani’s site and link up with Mr. Linky, but be sure and answer her question.
So my question for today is
Do you think that blogs are going to be moving towards Vlogs or not?
I think know, I don’t think everyone is into Vlogs. I was talking to Jennifer James from MomBloggersClub and she feels the same way that I do. A lot of people get annoyed with sound or they don’t have the patience for video to load. They would prefer to skim the page. I don’t ever have my sound on on my computer. My kids are in bed and my volume is off. When I do VLogs I keep this in mind. I write up a different version of what I said on my Vlog. What is your opinion on the subject?

I would have to definitely say NO. Most people don’t want to watch a video of someone talking not to mention the sound. People usually read blogs when it’s quiet or while working on other things. I don’t think I could ever get into video blogging unless it was for a specific purpose.
Yup, I think more blogs will become vlogs, or a combination of the two, but there will never be a complete shift.
I’m in total agreement with you.
Maybe a one or the other type of deal & some people will combine frequently but I don’t think it will ever be just one or the other.
Some will but I think for the most part no.
Vlogging is a lot of work for the average blogger.

I never have my speakers on. If I want to watch a YouTube video I have to turn the speakers on, then they go right back off. Also, some people have older, slower computers and this has always been the case. I just don’t see vlogs replacing blogs.
I am not sure because with so many blog readers without speakers and throw in bloggers who do not have alot of time I think that maybe there will be a few more vloggers but for the most part no
I don’t think vlogging will replace blogging. I think it will remain one big aspect of it though. I follow a lot of blogs and only a select few do a video every once in a while. Once I feel more “camera ready” I will do one myself. I do put up videos of my child doing something. That’s fun. Aloha and take care.
I don’t think I’d be into vlogging personally. I wouldn’t want to be in a video and posting it of myself for the world to see. I think blogs are better; love to read!
I enjoy watching an occasional vlog but wouldn’t like it if they entirely replaced blogs.
I’m not much into videos, I’d rather scroll through the written word!
yeah I am not really in to the thought of vlogging or watching them for that matter I like to be able to move back and forth through posts at my own convience and I am personally not about to film myself and post it.
It seems to be gaining in popularity but I don’t think everyone will jump on the bandwagon. Personally, I don’t like being videotaped. I sound so silly!
I wouldn’t be surprised if it did go to more Vlogging. I know on the odd day when I look at a news website/blog I’m finding there are more and more video (w/o a written version. blech). This is really disheartening to me… we live in the sticks and have only dial-up and terrible satellite options for internet. Currently we have a 200mb limit on our sat system & when this is reached we are turned off for 24hours. You can bet if we hear sound from a webpage of any sort we are either looking quickly for an off button or closing the page entirely. So, thanks to all the people that don’t have sound on their pages! It really eats up bandwidth – and there are more of us out here in the sticks than one might think.
Have a great weekend everyone!
There will always be a mix because there are still people who don’t have the computer to keep up with watching a vlog or creating one.
Vlogging seems like it would be fun once in a while, but I often don’t watch videos because I’m blogging while the kids are asleep.
