Zula Patrol DVD “Animal Adventures in Space and on-line membership review and giveaway.

It’s fun to learn with Zula Patrol. The Theme song is a very cute jingle and I’m drawn in along with my children. What are we going to learn about today. The Zula Patrol released Animal Adventures in Space to DVD on June 2 and it starts off with a lesson about metamorphosis. How all the different insects and a frog change from one form to another.  Some people are really hard on TV and cartoons for children but this one gets a good rating from me. It’s scientifically teaching children, mathematically teaching children, but it didn’t feel like learning. It really felt like an expedition.

Are you having an “Epic Summer”?

Have you ever had an Epic Summer? I’m not sure that I have. I mean the summer of my senior year in high school was absolutely awesome and some of my favorite memories before being married are from that summer. So that might be my epic summer. But once you have a family what qualifies as an epic summer. Also travel seems to be really difficult. I don’t take my kids very far at all because they hate to sit still. Taking my kids to Texas to see the grandparents was exhausting. I mean, I was thinking how much longer is this flight, will my kids fall asleep? Will they stop yelling at me?

Thinking about the future when my kids get older, I’m thinking about where to take my kids. Yes, Disney World is the dream vacation and would be epic for me, but what’s closer?

Vail Resorts has an idea they wanted me to share. The majestic national parks and forests of the West to transform their village at Keystone Mountain into a family base from which daily adventure trips take place. Set in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, the Epic Summer Family Adventure offers families an action-packed getaway with four or seven-day itineraries.

I have been to the Rocky Mountains before in Colorado. I went with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins and we stayed in a tiny RV, I mean like inches apart from each other and it wasn’t the best way to experience the Mountains. Colorado is beautiful there are rivers to swim in and freeze your bum off because it’s snow melt. There is tons of hiking on small mountains and skiing all year round I think. I’ve never been skiing but I would love to try it some time.

Each day with epic summer your family has an exciting fun-packed day ahead, from hiking up cool mountain trails, going white water rafting, zip lining, trail horseback riding, exploring National Parks, and adventure biking to attending a real cowboy campfire dinner under the stars. And you don’t have to worry about the details. I would love to try out this trip with my family. I mean, my kids are too young to do some of these activities but my husband and I are looking at vacation ideas for in the future and this sounds like fun don’t you think?

Mom Start Moment #saraleesummit

I want to start a new section on my blog called Mom Start Moment. Sometimes there will be words and other times there won’t be, but it will always contain a photo.

So this photo, was me just taking a picture of the get up that Sara Lee needed us to wear to take a tour of their testing bakery. This cap and coat also included a pair of closed toe shoes. I was among three delinquent bloggers that forgot to bring proper pair of shoes so they bought me the ugliest pair of brown flats they could find. ;-)

I’m missing a heat wave in the Pacific Northwest

thermometer I was on the phone talking to my husband who said that it’s hot at home. Washington state is known for it’s rain and mild summers. Lately the summer’s have been getting hotter and hotter. Now I’m still not sure that I believe in Global Warming as described by Al Gore but I do believe that the climate is changing. My husband doesn’t even believe that the climate is changing. Just that we have the technology now to keep up with it better and track it. Anyways, back to the Heat Wave in Washington and the Pacific Northwest.

and for the first time they are predicting triple digits which means that it will be even hotter than either of the two days.

The longest stretch of days at 90 or hotter was in August 7-11 of 1981, when we had a stretch of 91, 93, 99, 98, and 93.  This also qualifies as the hottest week in Seattle history, as those five days were book-ended by 86 degree readings, giving it an average high of 92.3 degrees. We also had a stretch of 5 90s+ in 1941 when records were kept at the Downtown Federal Building.

There have been five times when we’ve had stretch of four days at 90 or hotter — the most recent was July 21-24 in 2006, when it was 98, 96, 95 and 92.

IMG_0284This is where we go for a hot day in Seattle. It’s the Seattle Center and the fountain runs to music.

Most people do not have air conditioners and that’s dangerous. These temperatures are extreme and people to need to find ways to stay cool Drink lots of water, not soda or anything sugary or with alcohol.

Don’t use your oven if you can get away with it as that will heat your house more and be careful using fans. Make sure you take all necessary precautions. And remember that it takes seconds for your car to get over 100 degrees. Do not leave children or animals in your car. I know how tempting it can be. You think, I’ll be right back, it’s only a second. But, it’s awful what could happen.

So I’m glad I’m not there right now because that kind of hot weather makes me whiny. And for MOMS Club of Woodinville, I noticed Walking Club was canceled so you guys take care of yourselves. I’ll see you all next month.

My Opinion

 

I think I’m going with the Purple Silverlake flap and here’s why.

I love the purple more and I love having a strap that goes over my shoulder. I need a larger bag at this point in my life because of having two children and needing to have everything on me at one time.

I like the color yellow too, but it’s too small and I’m not sure I’m fond of the synch. It doesn’t synch but it looks like it does and I think that would drive me crazy. I’m sure both purses are of very high quality but it’s the “plum” colored purse hands down in my opinion.

Traveling is messing with me!

A few items are arriving to the correct address but this CD was not one of them. So, giving  you a review is going to be terribly difficult.

ShareBuds are designed with a comfortable ear piece and plug into your electronic devices, such as laptops, iphones, phones, media players. Then they have two sets of headphones. That way two people can listen to the same thing. I mean it’s perfect for traveling or just hanging out with your friends and listening to music in a small space without waking up the entire house.

These are great for dorm rooms so this would be excellent to give to someone you know going off to college.

Ltd Chix T-shirt review

Laundrylipstick600w I’ve been getting a lot of review items for a Back to School party that I’m hosting with 8 other bloggers. I have so many products that my head is spinning. You know, I even thought when I opened the beautifully pink colored t-shirt from Ltd Chix that it’s just another shirt.

I put it on right away because I had spent the day flying with my kids and I wanted something clean to wear without digging in my suitcase. I was pleasantly surprised to find this shirt was extremely fitted and soft on my skin. I looked in the mirror and thought, who is that hot mamma looking at me. It’s me!

I don’t consider myself as one to have a figure anymore. Babies really do a number on your body. So it’s very surprising when you find clothing that looks so amazing. It’s just a t-shirt, but it’s not. laundrymom200x200This is the motto on my shirt. I’m living the dream, and as a stay at home mom, I really do feel like I’m living the dream. I’m getting to stay with my kids, and do all the chores yes, but I get to watch them grow and mold them into the people I want them to be, respectful and educated.

The shirt has not shrunk in length but they aren’t extremely long to begin with. I prefer longer shirts but I still feel so slinky in this shirt.
