Win The Best bubbles Mr. Bubbles #giveaway

village bubble bath

As a mother I do not get much time to take care of myself. Blogging is my hobby and I have dug in deep. I’m always working on something and not getting paid for it. So one way I like to relax is to take a nice hot bubble bath, and I really want my bubbles to stay bubbly for a while so I can relax in the heat for a long time. I actually like to read in the tub.
One of my favorites is Mr. Bubbles, but I thought he was only for children. The Village Company now makes bubble bath for adults as well. Well, perhaps they have been making bubbles for adults for a while now. Well, I have just discovered them. The Village Company sent me quite a package to review. I received Mandarin Lime Milk Bath, White Tea Milk Bath, Mr. Bubbles 3 – in – 1, Mr. Bubbles Bubble Bath in Watermelon, and Mr Bubbles foaming soap.

These products can be purchased at Amazon.com, and in stores like Target. I never noticed them before but last time I went into Target I found them and looked at all the different products. The Village Company makes so many relaxing products. They make the Sesame Street line for children, the Mr. Bubbles line for children and Village Naturals.

The Village Naturals has the bath milk that bubbles very nicely. They also have a therapy line for aches and pains and stress or tension. The Naturals line also comes in foot essentials with a foot soak, foot scrub, and foot balm. They also make body scrubs in either sugar or salt.

I haven’t tried all of their products but when I run out of bubble bath, instead of spending a fortune at Lush, I’m going to go to Target and get my satisfaction with out breaking the bank.

The scents that I got to try for bubble bath are wonderful. The Mandarin Orange was sweet but not overly so. I smelled so good after my bath. The scent lingered in my skin while I was falling asleep.

IMG_9644We were fortunate enough to get a large supply of children’s products to try out as well.

Mr. Bubbles Foaming Soap is for ages three and up and I’ll tell you why. My kids can not keep it out of their mouths. I have to watch them like a hawk when they are playing with it but my daughter loves it. She loves how it squirts out of a can. My son also loves to try

IMG_9639

and make the sound. I love the way it smells.

Now the Bubble bath is something we’ve been using forever. They have a sensitive bubble bath and a bubble bath with different scents. For instance this was the first time we were able to try the watermelon. It’s a fun scent for the kids and I like it too. I prefer my adult scent like the White Tea but kids verses adult moms you know!

The only issue I had with any of the products was with the 3-in-1. The three in one doesn’t make as strong of bubbles. It still bubbles you know, but they don’t last or fill the tub with bounds of bubbles. It’s just fine as a soap and a shampoo but bubbles are mediocre. All the other products are excellent bubble makers. ;-)

chickenjoe This was great! Trout Fishing in America is blue grass, soul moving music to entertain the depths of children’s hearts. Our Naughty Spot is the time out pad #giveaway

Time Out PadLet me introduce you to the Time Out Pad. This is one of those products I actually hunted them down and asked them if I could review it. I’m so very grateful they said yes and are letting me keep it. It has helped us so much. We were just using a dog pillow in her room as her naughty spot. She would get up and start playing and unless we were close enough to hear it we had no idea. Now if she gets up a siren goes off and tells us that she is no longer sitting on her naughty spot.

http://keendistribution.com/pressroom/photoLibrary/timeOutPad/JPG_HiRes/TOP.jpgThe recommended age is for two and up. I have to say that it’s true. We tried to use it on our 15 month old and well it scared him. Poor guy he was in trouble and then he was terrified so as parents we felt conflicted. Do we comfort him because he was afraid or make sure he understands that he was in trouble. Well, just don’t use it unless you know your child can understand the sounds.

The sounds:

Simply set the built-in timer to the desired time-out duration (usually one minute per year of the child’s age) and sit the child on the pressure sensitive pad.

If the child gets up before the end of the programmed time, an alarm sounds to alert the parent or caregiver, and the countdown will pause until the child sits back down.

Once the full time-out countdown has elapsed, the finish tune is played to let everyone know that the session has ended. The child should then apologize and be rewarded with a big hug!

So now she knows when it’s over to say she’s sorry and the best part is the “I love you mommy” or “I love you daddy”. She is amazing and I hope one day she’s not embarrassed by my blog.

It stores easily because it is very small and you will probably see them playing with it if you leave it out or trying to make the button turn green sooner than it’s supposed to but she hasn’t been able to damage it.

Saving Grace is actually about Saving Grace

saving grace  Saving Grace is going to start it’s third season on Tuesday June 16th on TNT. It took me three episodes to figure out what was going on. Of course I didn’t read anything about the show before I started watching this season’s first few episodes. I didn’t want anything to sway my opinion of this show. Starring Holly Hunter. I think I’m addicted. My only dissatisfaction would be that I don’t like all the cussing. for a show about saving Grace’s soul and having her turn her life over to God there is so much cussing. Grace’s relationship with her best friend played by Laura San Giacomo (whom I was related to by marriage) is so believable and fantastic. I hope I can find it on Hulu or somewhere on the internet.

Episode Description:

“We’re Already Here” – Tuesday, June 16, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT)

When Grace tries to reach out to Neely – the young drug addict who shares visions of Earl – Grace winds up in the middle of what could be a plot by an anti-government group linked to the recent death of a police officer.  Grace’s clumsy, off-the-books investigation goes especially bad when Neely is injured.  Meanwhile, Grace and Ham get caught in a compromising position, and Butch makes a surprise announcement.

Episode Preview:

Starting Saturday June 13th Crayola and Cartoon Network are on Tour

The Get Animated Tour is in it’s fifth year this year. This 40-city tour is designed to motivate, energize and educate kids ages 6-14 about healthy living choices by using the power of Cartoon Network’s shows, characters and brands.

The tour will run all summer-long and feature interactive areas designed around select Cartoon Network series as well as activity areas for kids, including: the Crayola “Everything Imaginable” tent featuring three different Crayola activity stations; an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) area where kids will toss over-sized “nutrition label” dice and compare the two face-up labels for a prize, while learning to understand the nutrition facts label on food packaging more effectively; and a Subway section where kids will have the opportunity to compete on stationary bikes with a video game to beat a countdown clock.

So I have never heard of this before and looking at the website and reading this I still felt like a dodo bird. I think I’ve finally figured it out though. So for those of you that are a big slow like me this event is to inspire the whole family to get up and moving “get animated” Children can download a game tip guide and bring a game they created themselves to the tour. So not only are we animating our bodies but your children can animate their minds as well.

Here is a rough schedule for the tour. I checked Seattle and it’s already been updated so just check www.GetAnimated.com  to find out when the tour will be in your area.

Sweets and Treats Tracy Singer CD #giveaway

In 24 days a new children’s cd will be available for purchase. Sweets ‘n Treats by San Diego based Tracey Singer. He is a new voice on the kids’ music scene, and his debut CD comes with impressive credentials.  Set for a July 7 release, Sweets ‘n’ Treats, was produced by two-time GRAMMY nominee, children’s musician Buck Howdy. But before I tell you about the music you need to get to know the artist

About Tracy Singer:

tracy singer A consummate professional trained in the “Great American Songbook” tradition, Tracey Singer has, for many years, enjoyed a very successful solo career as vocalist/pianist, performing pop and jazz standards in an array of settings ranging from restaurants, clubs, and performing arts centers to corporate and private events.

While maintaining quite an active performing schedule, Tracey is also an at-home dad to four children under age nine!  He explains, “After one child turned into two, three, and four, the overwhelming influence that those kids had on every second of my life convinced me to turn, musically, to writing and performing music for the one audience I have come to know best – children”

With that many children he must know what’s going to entertain them.

SWEETSNTREATSCoverArtSweets ‘n’ Treats is a humorous CD with music for children. Now I didn’t like the first song which is actually the title song Sweets ‘n’ Treats. It’s for kids, my two little ones liked it and shook to it but not me. I did like Stinky Joe. Anyone who can sing to children and tell them that smoking is bad gets an A+ in my book. His style is all over the place with some children as background and some with a rock and roll feel. Overall, it’s a CD I can add to our queue of music.

Track List:

  • Sweets ‘n’ Treats
  • Camping Trip
  • Christmas in July
  • Mall Mom
  • The Moon is Here
  • Swimming
  • Nana Nana Boo Boo
  • Where Did Summer Go?
  • Best Friend For Life
  • Baggy Pants
  • Foxy Joe
  • Stinky Smoke
  • A Toddler’s Lullaby (Sweetest Dreams)

Reading on the Kindle vs. the Kindle 2 review

    kindle

My husband purchased the Kindle for me for my birthday. He has the original one and I have the second one. I love it. I quite reading at night because my hands would hurt so much from my arthritis that holding a book was impossible. The Kindle is so light. It is easy to hold and lay in bed with. I know a lot of people sit up when they read, but I lay down and then fall asleep reading.  I love being able to read again. I read all of Twilight and never had to wait for the next book to come in the mail or to hunt one down at the nearest book store.

kindle2So ordering is simple, you can order from Amazon.com or you can order directly from your kindle. We have wireless set up in our

house and we just order our books from bed.

The biggest improvement is that it doesn’t fall out of the case. My husband says his falls out all of the time. He takes it everywhere with him. He reads it at work, when he’s stopped in traffic, and at bedtime or just to relax.

I really liked the metallic bar that the original one had but I like how mine looks just a tad bit nicer. Mine also has a button redesign where you can’t easily turn to the next page. I do feel like the large button on the right should be forward page like it is and the large button on the left should be previous page. I’m always hitting that button and then ending up in the next chapter.

It has the ability to read out loud and my husband is very fascinated with but I like to read to myself, unless it’s my husband reading to me. So if it had my husband’s voice and not some electronic female voice then I might enjoy it a little more.

I also really like being able to change the text size. At night when there is very little light I can move the text size up a size or two. You can use it to search the web but most websites aren’t made to be viewed from the Kindle. I don’t think my blog is.

    Specs:
It’s only 1/3 of an inch and only weights 10.2 ounces. The books are delivered wirelessly in under 60 seconds. The battery life is amazing as long as you remember to turn off the wireless.

One drawback is that it doesn’t come with a case but all the pros outweigh this.

    It’s Green!

If you have an avid reader that hates used books, or just likes to read and read and you have a small house that can’t store the books, this saves space, paper, and time.

Modern kid toys and products by Boon #giveaway

    IMG_9622About Boon

It’s funny how such a simple thing can lead to so much. It all began with a messy toddler bathtub. Designer Rebecca Finell’s wheels started turning and the Frog Pod was born.

But the problem solving didn’t stop there. She had lots of ideas for other parenting innovations so she sought out a partner, Ryan Fernandez—who could create a successful business—and together they founded Boon Inc. Today Boon offers a wide range of products that help parents all over the world.

We’re committed to creating nothing but the most innovative gear—and keeping it affordable. Our design studio is always in motion, tackling one parenting challenge after another. And don’t forget our commitment to quality and safety. Call us if you have any questions. We want you to be thrilled with our products! Plus, we like hearing from you.

IMG_9625Boon makes items that have a modern appeal to them. They are very clean lined. From Bath toys to bath safety everything stores nicely and is fun while serving a purpose. They also create modern high chairs that look like salon parlor chairs and make lights or eating accessories.

     IMG_9628

Boon sent us flo. Flo is a faucet cover that protects little heads from hitting the faucet and provides bubble bath excitement with a wonderful gentle flow of water that makes washing hair much less of a fight. (at least it is helpful in our house)

I was disappointed in how loosely it fit our faucet, because the kids just yank it off and have a fascination of drinking all the water in the tub from it. We were also disappointed in the bubble dispenser. It was very difficult to use. So my recommendation is don’t expect it to stay on the faucet during bath time and don’t use it for bubbles. Use it for fun and a great water fall during bath time. It provides the children with a lot of fun and great soap free hair.
