Idbids NMC Toys.com Review

We were sent a plush toy from NMCToys.com. NMC Toys was created by two parents of small children that wanted a place to find great quality toys that encourage learning.None of their toys come from China. They don’t want to take any chances on the quality of their toys.

We received Scout.

imageScout the Cloud will teach your child the "iddy biddy" steps they can take to save the environment. Made of 100% organic cotton and dyed with environmentally friendly natural, metal free vegetable colors. With the purchase of each individual Idbids, your child can go online with you to learn how they can protect the habitats of animal friends.

Scout is extremely soft. My husband even commented on how soft he was. My kids think he’s funny. I think he would make an excellent chew toy. I mean, teething toy. Kids can suck on him as they are breaking in new teeth and I don’t have to worry about the quality of it.

It does say however that it is only for ages three and up because of small pieces. I can’t figure out what those small pieces would be unless they are taking extra precautions that the legs might fall off. Which, I don’t think will happen because it looks like a solid made toy to me.

The idbids are a set of plush toys that teach children about the environment. There is Scout the cloud, Waverly the water drop and Lola the flower. Each doll retails for 16.99.

Clear Ears swimming, shower protection review

clearears

Cirrus Health Care sent me a free pair of ClearEars ear plugs to review on Mom Start. I’m always interested in ear plugs because I need them to help me sleep sometimes. However, these are not for overnight use. They hurt my ears after having them in my ears for too long.

ClearEars are for during showers, after showers, or during swimming or after swimming. They dry out your ears with out the use of alcohol. I felt them working which is why my ear started hurting because there was no more water to be absorbed.

  • Works fast in only 5- 10 minutes.
  • Safe for kids and adults.
  • More convenient than ear drops providing on the spot relief.
  • Earth friendly as ClearEars can be reused to help plants retain water. See package for details.
  • Alcohol free, dries and relieves.

My Weekend with #Ford Fusion Hybrid

    IMG_9798

Ford is a smart company because before they let me test drive one over the weekend I never had any intention of buying another American Made Vehicle. However, Ford has managed to make a vehicle in a medium price range feel like a luxury vehicle. Ford knows moms.

IMG_9807We were not given a vehicle with all of the upgrades either, it was modest, it had Sync, Syrius, and a 6 disc CD player. I loaded it up and tested out all of the technology in the car. My husband plugged in our Zune, we used the built in phone capabilities with our phone. So I was calling all my friends and family by using verbal commands. The Sync system is awesome.

IMG_9805I have never driven a hybrid before so I had no idea what to expect. I turned the key and there was no sound. The lights on the dash came on but that’s it. I was thinking I didn’t turn the car on so I turned the key again. It was still silent. I wasn’t sure what to do. I took the car out of park and we started moving, I guess the car is on I thought to myself.  Wow it was scary but really cool at the same time. Every time I stopped at a light or stop sign I still felt like the car was not on.  The dashboard was quite distracting at times. All the digital displays. You can see how much power the battery has, how much gas you have, how many miles you have gone what you are getting in miles per gallon and your average miles per gallon. The display is customizable which is a good thing because I would not want my teenager driving with all of that going on. Maybe when they start driving they’ll be used to that much going on at once. We’ll just have to see when that day comes. I’m not looking forward to that day. I know that computers have been running cars for quite a few years now so I’m quite comfortable with all the features it has.

    IMG_9799

The interior is very nice. I love new vehicles. They are so much fun to drive and the Ford Fusion Hybrid is fun to drive. Compared to my Doge Caravan that I have been toting my children in this thing felt like driving a sports car. I felt like it corners really well. My husband even thought it cornered really well and he drives a Toyota Corolla every day.

He complained that the engine didn’t seem too powerful but for a hybrid it was alright. I thought the engine performance was great, but again, my frame of reference is a Dodge Caravan. IMG_9806

We were able to sit in it comfortably as a family. It was quite roomy. My husband had plenty of feet room without making the kids feel like they didn’t have any room. Sometimes it just doesn’t feel like cars were made for car seats. We use the latch system with ours and it was extremely easy to install.

    IMG_9796

I could see our family taking a long trip in the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It does get better gas mileage in town though which is opposite of most vehicles. In extreme driving situations it gets 81 miles per gallon. I forgot to write down what our average was, but it was really fun to watch the meter when it said we were getting 60+ miles per gallon.

The true test would be to see how the Ford Fusion Hybrid stands the length of time.

How often do you divvy up your gift

Whenever you are purchasing a large gift for someone how often do you go in with everyone you know. I think it’s done really often or at least it used to be. I know my mom and all of her brothers and sisters go in together to purchase gifts for my grandmother every now and again for Christmas. Well, they did when I was a little girl and they all lived closely together. Now they live in different states.

When I was in college I worked at the same place my husband worked. He left the year before I did and then I graduated. Well the place we worked decided to give me a little wedding shower, birthday party, and graduation present all in one. They did a gift all together; they really liked both of us.

So what if you don’t live close to everyone that you want to divvy with. What do you do then?

Edivvy is just the place to do that.

There you can find unique gift ideas. They have ideas set up by category such as wedding, sports, housewarming and Father’s Day. It makes organized the whole thing very easy. E-divvy is bringing back group gifting.

I don’t know anything about it, I just thought it was a neat idea. There is so much you can do on the internet you know!
