Built on decades of applied research, New World Kids: The Parents’ Guide to Creative Thinking (Foundry Media, 2009, 978-0-615-19060-0, $14.95), is a handbook for developing young minds to learn and grow in a future requiring visual literacy and innovative skills. My Opinion:
I really feel that schools and how learning is taught needs some work. I know it’s impossible to change how schools are run. We don’t even have enough teachers as it is. So I live in a delusional world of thinking.
Growing up I remember being in special classes for smart kids. So we were allowed to express ourselves in visual, musical, or artistic ways. Why didn’t all the kids get to do this. I mean we don’t all learn the same way right? And why isn’t logic taught in school?
I love this book.
New World Kids The Parents Guide to creative thinking illustrates in words, pictures, and examples for parents providing tons of ideas on how to get creativity stirred in your children. There are plenty of ideas and with your own creativity it can be applied to any age. I like to just look at the pictures in the book with my two year old. When she’s in the right mood of course. Lately she’s been very opinionated. Welcome mom to having a two year old. But the creativity never stops.
