Aloha Friday Digital or Not

alohafriday5 Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response”. You should go to Kailani’s site and link up with Mr. Linky, but don’t be rude, be sure and answer her question.

My Question: Are you into digital? Digital photos, Digital frames, Digital scrapbooking?

Me, yes and no. I love digital photos, we take 1,000’s of photos a week and I can’t store them all so I don’t print any out unless I’m mailing them to grandparents. I love digital frames and screen savers that keep changing my pictures. I love to look at my children. But I’m not a digital scrapbooker. I like to add stickers and different colors of paper. I like to glue it all together and put it in a book. I do have a terrible time picking out of the mega loads of photos we have, but I still like putting it all together by hand. What do you think?

Fitness Friday – Latin Dancing

So after skipping a month I am ready for my Latin Dancing giveaway. I posted the first link of my month long Fitness Friday Latin style here.

My second week ugg, didn’t happen but by the time I put the disk in it wouldn’t play. I think my kids scratched it. It is possible it came as a coaster but I think it was my children. I was lazy and depressed and ate pounds of Godiva chocolate and when I finally stepped on my Wii fit again this week, it said you have put on two pounds since you last got on. You need to use the me every day to see good results. You did not make your goal. So, I’m motivated to try harder. (of course this motivation comes after wanting to throw the fit at the screen)

It was my Wii that inspired me to finish reviewing my DVDs from the Core Rhythms

Before I finish up my review, let me tell you. Core Rhythms does not leave you hanging. They have two different websites that will help support you and provide a community in your quest to lose weight and get back into shape. They do recommend that you seek out your doctor before beginning an exercise program

CORE RHYTHMS PROGRAMKick Start DVD

This one is considered to have a slow tempo to teach the three basic moves of the workout. It is kind of boring but ESSENTIAL in learning how to dance. My husband and I took dancing lessons and we had to master the basic steps before our teacher would let us move on. It was quite frustrating sometimes. This award winning interactive DVD allows you to choose from front, back, split or zoom-in-on-the-core camera angles. To read more of my review click Latin style.

Full Workout DVD

This one is a 45 minute workout is quite a bit of work. I do like how it starts slow, builds and then they do a cool down period. I think these are key elements that all workout videos should have.  View every step from front or back. You can use the interactive help option to get help from Jaana and Julia’s tips.

Quick Workout DVD

This was by far my favorite one. I probably would have enjoyed Latin Dance Made easy but wasn’t able to review it. I was able to do the Samba and Meringue and work up a sweat and feel quite a tug in my middle area. It was an awesome workout and I know that my waist would love it if I continued to use this DVD alone for 20 minutes a day. Again, you have the option to choose the camera angle. That’s pretty neat on the DVD’ creators part.

Latin Dance Made Easy – was my scratched DVD but here is a quote from Posh Point of View

Here, dance champions, Bob and Julia Powers, teach three popular Latin dances, Salsa, Meringue and Rumba, that you and a partner can take straight to the clubs.
I know you want to try it out and see how well it works I will keep you updated on my progress. My neighbors and I are going to meet every Tuesday and dance away the inches and pounds.

Trivial Pursuit for Xbox 360

http://mktplassets.xbox.com/NR/rdonlyres/8526ECAD-0C99-40A8-999D-17D6DC20718A/0/cboxtrivialpursuit.jpgMy husband and I spend time together by playing games. In fact right now we’re playing Scrabble which is also a new title from EA Games and Hasbro. We play it on the Xbox 360 and it is only available as a download. It is part of Hasbro’s Family Fun Night. Which is not completely complete for the Xbox yet.

We also have Family Fun night for the Wii.  Love playing boggle. EA seems to know what they are doing when it comes to making Hasbro’s board games turn into video games. Our only issue is Hasbro or EA charging 10.00 to play Connect Four on the Xbox 360. Good Luck selling that one. We’re waiting for the price to come down, because we can already play it on the Wii. ;-)

Trivial Pursuit Screenshot GalleryWe now have the opportunity to play Trivial Pursuit for Xbox 360. It’s a lot of fun to play against my husband. You know when you play Trivial Pursuit as a board game and the game can take forever because it’s so hard. Well, this one is still hard but it has a game play Trivial Pursuit Screenshot Galleryoption that is guaranteed to take around 20 minutes. This is the option we have been playing the most. In this mode you can choose to land on a special piece. That special piece will have a wheel that you spin and you can get the option to wager against your opponent, you have the chance to steal their pie, or you can teleport to any Trivial Pursuit Screenshot Galleryspace on the board. My husband has been having all the luck because he keeps stealing my pies. I think he has won ever time we play. Oh and we downloaded a bonus pack where we could play just movie trivia. I do much better at movie trivia.

Clear the Board is a single mode. It’s a fun way to test your own knowledge. Each square you land on can only be answered once, and it gets marked off whether you get it right or wrong. If you get it right you’ll earn more incrementally towards your pie. The board will shrink as you earn the pies for a certain color because the color/category is no longer available.

Trivial Pursuit has a lot of features like how you are doing, how many answers you are getting right vs. how many you are getting wrong. The percentage of Sports & Leisure questions you answered, number of correct responses in a row, etc.

Well, my geeky self and my geeky husband love to spend time together. We are either sitting side by side on our dueling computers or we are playing video games together. He loves talking about me at work because I speak computer language and I play video games. Some of the guys he works with ask him to stay late and play video games with them, but he says no, I’m going home to play games with my wife.

One last thing, I’ve been trying to work into this post. I know that EA is famous for The Sims. We love to play The Sims too. My husband used to make outfits for the Sims. He made Star Trek Next Generation characters and Wraith from Stargate Atlantis, oh and Stargate SG-1 uniforms. I love my Geeky man. ;-)

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble – Wii Video Game

I had the fortunate opportunity to work with Atari recently and they sent me a copy of Ready 2 Rumble Revolution for the Wii.

Ready 2 Rumble RevolutionThe hilarious Ready 2 Rumble franchise is flexing its muscles and planning a major, star-studded return to the ring with the launch of Ready 2 Rumble Revolution, the newest game in the much-loved series.  Bringing the franchise to Wii™ for the first time, the game retains all the knockout features of best-sellers Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 1 and Round 2, while delivering a knockout punch of style and attitude.  Tailored to take advantage of the motion-controlled realism of Wii, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution makes landing a punch more fun than ever.

The game has the voice Michael Buffer who is famous for “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble®” trademark call. (which is one of my favorite parts, it really brings the came a lot of character. The characters are brought to life with hilarious moves, detailed facial animations (also something I really enjoyed), damage textures and fighting techniques including special moves, combos, extreme knockdowns and special “Rumble” combos (I would only get these by accident).  An all new Championship Mode lets gamers create their own unique boxer and nurture (this was one of the first things I did) his skills through mini-games, developing him as a fighter and creating a completely personalized Ready 2 Rumble Revolution experience.

Key Points of the Game:

Intuitive Gameplay – Using the Nunchuk controller as one glove and the Wii Remote as the other, players dodge, weave and punch their opponents. The controller’s speaker and rumble device provide sensory feedback.
18 Wildly Caricatured Boxers – A new roster of caricatured boxers presents parodies of celebrities from the world of sports, music and movies. Highlights include the caricature of Michael Buffer, “The Voice of Champions™”, and his famous “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble®” trademark call. Each character is brought to life through hilarious over-the-top moves, improved facial animations and damage textures.
Special Moves – Tons of outrageous special moves, combos and extreme knockdowns enhance the fighting experience while “Rumble“-Combos enable players to pull off moves from Kung Fu, Wrestling and other martial arts.
Contains 8 Modes of Play – Arcade, Quick Fight, Team Fight, Tournament, Championship, Mini Game, Tutorial and Create a Boxer modes
Championship Mode – The all new championship mode allows players to create their own boxer and nurture his skills through mini-games developing him as a fighter.
Single-Player AI – R2R Revolution can be played multi-player or single-player. In single player mode, AI allows for more strategy-oriented fighting experience and adds to replay value

Pre-Order Ready 2 Rumble: Revolution and receive:

My Thoughts:

I found this video game to be quite a work out. I haven’t played it a lot, it’s not exactly the game I thought it would be. I was hoping that I would be able to create a female boxer. I’m sure if I had read the description better I would have found that out in the beginning. Looking at it from the standpoint of the Wii’s graphics sucks, Atari did an excellent job making their characters. The characters look like boxing figures and they made great use of the Wii controller, it feels like just the slightest difference is a different hit. It also has no response difficulty like some of the other Wii games I have played. The tutorial teaches you how to use the remote and make different kinds of punches; while at the same time,  you can exit the tutorial at any point. I hate games that make me do the tutorial. I did get a huge kick out of how the characters looked after being hit. Ka pow!

I also found it fun and humorous to play. Thank You atari. You are welcome on my blog at any time.

My best friend from high school deserves to spend a few nights at the Hershey Spa. She has always been there for me. In high school she convinced her parents to let me live with them. My parents had to move out of the city and I wanted to graduate from High School with all of my friends, and I got to. We very far apart but she always makes me feel special and loved. She sent me cards and birth announcements when her children were born. She flew up for my wedding when her and her husband had no money to speak of because he was a med student. Now he is a doctor and he is an intern and working all of the time. So she is left to take care of her two children by herself. She also spends time blogging (trying to earn a little money on the side) and has helped my blog become what it is today. She gives herself in everything she does. She recently lost her dog, he was her first baby. Her dog had to be put down and she is in tears over this. Her daughter is too young to understand that he died and asks mommy where he is. So that makes her sad again. She also finds herself in her normal routine and going to get food or treats for him and just breaks into tears again. Yes, she will get over this and life will go on, but this could be the one way I pay her back for EVERYTHING she has ever done for me.

So Do you think I have a chance?

Peter Walsh Organized my Blog

OfficeMax Set me up with Peter Walsh and we got my incoming, working, outgoing all organized. My work space was a mess, I have this bin, and a box and a filing cabinet that I don’t use because my husband keeps it locked and I never know where the key is and it’s a choking hazard for my children anyways, so I just stack. I have stacks and stacks of stuff everywhere. InPlaceSystembyPeterWalsh_Logo

In Clean Sweep Style that Peter Walsh is famous four he said that 80% of my files will never be looked again, so I was able to sort my stuff into one stack. No need for the box, my box has now become, outgoing prizes that sponsors were too lazy to mail out themselves. If you enter a contest on my site, I hope you are prepared for the package to take weeks to get to you because I have a hard time making it to the post office.

I am sad to say Peter didn’t actually come to my house and reorganize my whole house or a room, I was invited to a webcast sponsored by OfficeMax. OfficeMax sent me Peter’s new line of organizational tools for my office. His line is wonderful. I’m going to purchase his coupon organizer purse as soon as it is released to OfficeMax stores. It’s so cute and serves a purpose I need.

InPlaceSystembyPeterWalsh_DesktopSorter The tool to the left is my favorite. I put all the files that I need to reference for my posting in this little guy right here. It is easy to pull out and file folders fit inside it. I can even take it with me if I’m going to an internet cafe. It’s urban enough to be my purse. Just throw some diapers in there and I’m good to go. Here is a short summary from Peter Walsh. Take a peek and clean that workspace.

image Because I have organized my workspace, I actually have more time to do things. I’m enjoying my kids again and not pulling my hair out. ;-) Thank you Peter!!!
