The Munchkin Family

We are the Munchkin Family if there ever was one. When I started my coupon quest I was writing to companies left and right. We spent a lot of money with the Munchkin family. As you can see by my list below. We love their products. They have great learning toys and food training products. They make the best bath toys and clean up is a synch with their caddy. We went through two ducks because it became a wonderful toy afterwards and was pulled up and down the hallway with children inside or full of toys as my daughter learned how to get more toys from her room into the living room.

duck I sent the Munchkin company a picture of my two adorable children packed inside the duck in hopes of getting some coupons for some products that we purchase regularly. I never got a response and was quite sad, however; I have finally found someone at the company to listen to me.

They sent me the Snack N Serve cups. These are great. You can put snacks in them and your kids can fish them out easily. You can snap the lids back on in place and store them. The purple snack cup comes with a no slide bottom so you can sit your child in their high chair and give them their snack. It’s nice. Sometimes I’ll give them their snacks at the table so I can get the dishes done.

Here is a list of Munchkin Products that fill our house and I’m not positive it’s complete.

  • The Sun block Controversy – Giveaway

It is getting to be that time of year when everyone hits the outdoors. We go and play outside and even on cloudy days we wonder, should we have sun block on? The reality of it all is that we should be wearing sun block every day. At least people with fair skin like me aren’t supposed to go outside without putting it on.

Our faces, nose mouth and eyes should be protected every day. My doctors told me I’m not supposed to go outside without wearing my sunglasses. (Please talk to your doctor, anything I post is my opinion or something I read on the internet or something my doctor told me, I am not a medical professional and the internet is not the one stop truth. OK)

We talked to our doctor about our children and the chemicals in Sun Block and she said it would be worse to not put sun block on them. She also said we expose them to so many chemicals it really is too hard to blame sun block on things that are happening to people because of chemicals.

    My Opinion:

AzurRBGlogo_regmark I am going to do the best I can with what I have. If I have some nice sun block then I’ll use it, otherwise I’m putting whatever is closest to me and covering their skin. I do really like the Azur Advanced Pro-Cellular Sunscreen for many reasons.

    1. My face is very sensitive to sun block. Sun Block makes my face burn but I’d rather have it protecting my face than not. So bring on the burn – nope. My face does not burn when I use Azur. No burning, no chemicals.

    2. It doesn’t stink. I tried a brand that is very well known, you can pick it up at Target, it is for sensitive faces and has fewer chemicals than most. It smelled so bad and putting it on my face it was nasty. I couldn’t use it. Yuck, Azur smells nice.

    3. It isn’t thick. Some of the sun blocks made out of zinc are so think they are like paste. This is still very much like a lotion. I really like this stuff.

    New Sun block without chemicals:

Because of my blogging I am introduced to products people want to sell and some are good and some are well, ok. This sun block that was sent to me is quite exciting. Here is a copy of what they have to say:

Azur Product ShotConventional sunscreens contain ingredients that may interfere with the body’s normal hormone
functioning. Growing evidence suggests that those ingredients can mimic estrogen or testosterone and
pose a risk of breast or prostate cancer, and possibly even reproductive problems in children whose
bodies are still developing. Eliminating those ingredients allows the endocrine system to function the
    way nature intended.
Azur® sunscreen contains natural, mineral-based ingredients that provide instant protection against UVA, UVB and the little known UVC wavelengths. Based on the most current data, Azur® keeps skin cells healthy and does not contain any ingredients that negatively affect the body’s chemistry. Its active ingredients form a physical barrier from the sun’s rays, while none of the product’s ingredients break down on the skin or generate an abnormal endocrine system response.
"There are potentially damaging chemicals found in nearly 600 sunscreens on the market today which can potentially cause serious health problems for consumers, especially young children," said Joseph J. Pinzone, MD, MBA, Medical Director for A.I. Specialty Healthcare. "Many consumers are unaware that 84% of sunscreens either contain potentially toxic endocrine disruptors like oxybenzone or do not provide adequate protection from the sun. Consumers concerned with healthy living now have a product with Azur® Advance Pro-Cellular Sunscreen that they can really trust, and is luxurious and pleasing to the senses."
Dr. Pinzone references research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit research organization based in Washington,
DC. Recently, EWG discovered that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not require cosmetic companies to specifically disclose that their products include endocrine disruptors. Visit www.azurskin.com for additional product information as well as news and information on endocrine disruption.
In addition to UV protection, regular use of Azur® provides the skin with important anti-oxidant vitamins A, C and E and natural sunscreen agents, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Importantly, Azur® is rated
as “Very Water Resistant” which means it goes on and stays on, enhancing its effectiveness and protection.

2 Readers can win some sunscreen from Azur. One winner will get a tube of SPF 30 and the other winner a tube of SPF 40.

Visit Azur and let me know what you think.

Mommy Grace – Giving Mommies Piece of mind giveaway

9780446545419_154X233Moms need to be reminded that the work they do is hard and rewarding. We need to find ways to realize we are strong and that we do a good job with our children. We also need to forgive ourselves for our mistakes and remember that letting our children see we make mistakes shows them it’s ok not to be perfect. We are all human and with that comes imperfection. God still loves us and our children. We were made in His image not exactly like him.

Mommy Grace is just the book to help guide you in your quest as an imperfect mother. I found quite a bit of peace reading this book. I found myself laughing and thinking about how often I let myself feel guilty when I shouldn’t.

Coupon for Borden and a giveaway

When you purchase Borden® Cheese, 100 percent of the proceeds go back to hard-working American dairy farmers and their families.

I had no idea that Borden Cheese is farmer owned. Borden is such a big company to me. They make cheese, milk, and snacks.

It is nice to see a company take care of farmers.

Now they have new flavors of cheese slices. I can’t wait to try them. I’m going to sample them soon. I think I’m most looking forward Alderwood Bacon Chedder, but the sun dried tomato basil looks yummy too. I’ll have to post about which one is my favorite after I try some.

Mostly I wanted to tell you about a contest. If you click on my button that says single sensational act you can enter to win groceries for a year, and if you win, I get 1,000.00. Please enter. Just think of all the groceries you can win.

UV Swim Suits only 9 dollars

    protectabubwwlogo1 copy

This is a crazy sale. The company Protect A Bub has decided not to continue their line of Swim Suits and Hats therefore, friends and family can have them for nine dollars each. WOW. I’ve already passed the deal onto my MOMS Club friends. I’m thinking of getting a set for each of my children.

swimsuitsandhats1 We will be selling our swimsuits and hats at cost since we do not plan to continue carrying this line in the fall. If anyone is interested in swimsuits, swim hats or paint your own hat kits-let me know.  We will sell them in bulk to an overstock store at the end of the season and of course, I prefer friends and family to be able to buy them at cost.  If you would like to order some (or want to forward to someone who might), email me at info@protectabub.com.  Please put in the subject line "swimsuit" and write your name and ship to address and what you would like to order.  It would likely be around $5 to ship for the first unit and then $1 each additional unit for shipping.  You can include a credit card number or send paypal or check.  We will email you an invoice.  Feel free to forward if people might be interested. The swimsuits — $9 (turquoise yellow, pink-yellow, navy-turquoise and limited sizes of turquoise-red)  sizes 0-8  – I think they retail for around $24 – 29. Long sleeved swim shirts — pink-yellow or navy-turquoise size 2 – 8 (also $9 each).  You can view them here–UPF 50+ Sun Protective Swimwear, shorts set, sun protective swim suit – Protect-a-Bub. There are paint your own hat kits with the white hats that we will sell for $6 each (retail 24.95) they make very cute party favors.

They also sell sunshades and stroller rain covers. They will be coming out with a new shade of brown sun shades in the next few weeks. Also they are upgrading their car seat shades. For any product you purchase that is not in the sale category you can save using the code in my sponsor listing on the right.

I’m going shopping before they run out.

    Fruit Jerky by Jerky

I never thought of dried fruit as Jerky until Jerky.com sent me some Pineapple Jerky. Since Jerky is just dried meat, dried fruit is jerky.

Jerky is essentially the drying of a meat product for either immediate or future consumption. With this method of preservation, the normal processes that would render meat inedible (bacterial growth and fungal contamination) are held at bay, keeping the food safe for consumption for an extended period of time. This method has been around for centuries and has long been the preferred process of preserving meat products (as opposed to freezing or using chemical treatments).

The Pineapple Jerky that was sent to me was extremely juicy for being dried fruit. I love pineapple, but they can be so messy and it’s a pain to have a knife ready for chopping one up. I have looked for dried Pineapple before, especially when I was pregnant. I had the hugest craving for it. I sent my husband out looking for it once and he even went to Whole foods and couldn’t find it. Yes, he found some but not specific to my instructions. I wanted some that was not covered in sugar. Why do companies feel that they need to dump dried fruit in sugar I will never know. We finally tracked some down at Trader Joes but I found it very difficult to chew. It satisfied my craving but I ended up throwing most of it away because I was tired of chewing it. Jerky’s jerky is so easy to chew for jerky. I am very pleased with my sample of jerky. I hope they send me more, or I’ll just have to order some.

My husband loves the venison jerky. That will have to be something I might consider purchasing some time. I did eat a ton of  Beef Jerky while I was pregnant too. It was a great way for me to get protein without a whole lot of calories. Also, with my first pregnancy we had a power outage for a whole week. So it was either peanut butter or jerky. And what would be great for dads on Father’s Day? Beef Jerky Gift Baskets right?
