I think I’m getting a booster seat?

Do any of you know anything about the Mutsy Grow Up?

I think I’m getting one. I’m working with Mutsy and they have some new colors out.

If I get to choose the color, what color would you choose. I have one boy and one girl, the girl would use it first, so I’m inclined to go with the blueberry, but at the same time the nut colored one on the left looks pretty good to?

If they were both girls I would want the magenta one they have on their site.

It is described as:

The most stylish seat at the table for baby. Mutsy’s Grow-Up! booster seat allows baby to sit in the average grown up chair safely and comfortably. Grow-Up! features a clever harness to ensure baby is securely fastened. The easy to clean, easy to transport seat is ideal from when baby can sit unaided to approximately 4 years of age.

My husband and I both like the idea of having a booster seat we can take

with us to restaurants for a few reasons. One, I like that it will be clean, two, what if we are at a place that does not have any.

When you are at a restaurant that only has high chairs and you have two kids how do you all fit around the table.

Am I the only one with this problem.

Let me know what you guys think?

Do you even use one?

Do you go out to eat at all?

What do you use at home?

Help, a blogger needs to know.

If you haven’t tried the Grow Up in particular you can use this discount code mgmut10 to receive a 10% discount on any Mutsy order from www.goores.com.

Jack’s Movie Debut

My dog has always wanted to be a movie star. Now thanks to Muvee Reveal turning him into a movie star was as easy as can be.

We made an HD movie with our Muvee software. We have found that it was not Muvee’s fault that we could not create a video, our hard drive was on it’s way out and crashed. We replaced it and low and behold Muvee worked. YEAH!!!!

Now that we can play with it more, I wanted to mention that you can do so much with it. You can do voice overs and caption the pictures with text. You can change the focus of your picture. It manipulates HD quality video and pictures. This really is THE software to have if you are looking for video software.

My only drawback is I can’t use it on my laptop. So maybe that’s against my laptop and not them. ;-)

The Green in Me

This week the Parent Bloggers Network has teamed up with SC Johnson’s new product Nature’s Source. They both want to know how I am living more natural.

Two years ago, my husband and I were talking about how the craze on organics was growing. We were so anti-organic you would not believe. I mean, we didn’t have anything good to say about it. In fact we said we loved the taste of our pesticides, because if you have something organic, it really does taste different. It is that “natural” taste that I couldn’t handle.

I had a child!

There is some switch in women that flips when they become a mother. There isn’t a thing in the world I wouldn’t do to protect my child. I started to think about what I was eating. What is my child eating. I started buying organic fruit. I fed it to her, I fed it to myself. I actually liked it now. Yum!. I purchased more.

I had another child!!

Now we are eating organic fruit and vegetables. But what about the chemicals we are cleaning with. The chemical smell of most of them is bothersome. We watch what we clean with, now, we are even more particular. I’m not fully green or fully natural. It has been a very slow process for us to accept that maybe all of these chemicals aren’t so good for us. I find myself inspecting labels and buying recyclable containers. How green can a company be if their own materials are not biodegradable.

Fitness Friday – DVD Series Core Rhythms

So, to summarize my wii usage for the past week, it has been Nada. I have been busy with the kids and yesterday/today depends on when you read this was my son’s birthday, so I have been busy with preparations. Your little man only turns one once right.

Anyways, Since, I do fitness Friday posts that are not just about the wii like all of the other wii fit moms. I was given the opportunity to review the Core Rhythms DVD set. It’s all about dancing and I had no idea that I was getting a DVD set. I thought I was going to get one DVD about dancing. Nope, I got four. The first four are only the Starter Pack. Wow, but it makes sense learning Latin dancing is hard. Do you watch Dancing with the Stars? I do, love it!!!

I have no hips, and for Latin dancing it’s all about the dishwasher move. I have a terrible time. My husband was good at Latin dancing.

For the next four weeks I’m going to share mine and my daughter’s journey through the DVD program. For Disk one, it was just a beginning movement DVD. For those of you who are looking for a strenuous workout, skip disk one. For me, please do not laugh, because it was only stand in place movement. I couldn’t do it. My hips are just funky when it comes to Latin music. Maybe I just try to hard. I look forward to doing more than the stand in place movements because then it’s less noticeable if my hips are doing the right thing or not. There are a number of other DVDs that are part of the program which are available through their exclusive Club Core Rhythms and they have an on-line community for support.

For my daughter, she did the hand motions and pushed her hips out right and left. She was so cute. I’m going to have to VLOG it for you next week, if I get my camera from New Baby.

Aloha Friday – Breakfast

Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response”.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants!

My Question:

What’s for breakfast?

I’m hoping my husband makes pancakes. Otherwise it will just be a cup of coffee. and I’ll feed my kids cranberries and cheerios and a glass of milk.

Time Flies – happy birthday Miles

How can he possible be one year old today. I do not know where all of the time went. I look at you and your sister and I think, oh my gosh I have the best kids. They are healthy and mostly happy. You look at my kids and think, they never cry, yes they do. I’m a mom, I have those days where I want to pull my hair out wishing it was bed time, and then I have days like today and I wish time would just slow down. My babies are growing and I’m missing it already. He’s only one.

He’s crawling and cruising. He is amazing. We went to a tea party today. It was a MOMS Club event and I was telling one of the moms it was his birthday and another mom must have heard me or she speaks baby well, because she told me, he said it’s his birthday. And he did, he said birthday, but I thought it was in his language that only mom and dad understand. She knew he was trying to say birthday. He’s learning all of his words from his older sister, who is trying to teach herself the alphabet. She loves to show her daddy the letters and tell him what they are.

I don’t remember learning my letters until Kindergarten. So yes I have the best kids.

Did you see the dancing bear? Save 2.00 on Snuggle Creme

I have always thought that the snuggle bear is so cute. I want one to cuddle with. I’m a teddy bear girl, i have been since, high school. Funny right? Never had an attachment to a doll except Rainbow Bright. And she was more of an obsession and still is just a little bit.

This reassuring collection shows high school students and their parents that there is no single right approach or perfect school and that it’s the “who” that counts the most, notâ? theâ? ‘how’…orâ? ‘where.’”– Sally Rubenstone, Senior Advisor, College Confidential (collegeconfidential.com)

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Teens Talk Getting In… to College really puts the whole college application process in perspective. Still a Family A guide to parenting through divorce giveaway.

I had the chance to read Still a Family A guide to parenting through divorce and want to give my book to one of my readers. I am not divorced and I have no plans to get a divorce. I grew up in a family that was divorced. My mom has been divorced twice and lived with a man for a few years, so I know all about heart ache, feeling pulled in one direction or another by a parent.

I was too young when my parents got divorced for them to try and sit down and explain it to me, but I was old enough to realize they were arguing A LOT. I remember one time I started crying because of something on tv and they started arguing over who made me cry. That made me cry harder.

I find that Lisa discusses topics that are important to all parents. How does arguing in front of your children affect your kids and taking time for yourself. We all need to do that. My parents also used me as the go between. Good grief there was a lot of tension in my family. Now I find myself being the most passive, not wanting to get into an argument person there is. I just give in. That’s me.

I also find that you should not talk about about the other parent in front of your child. It is more important to teach your children love and respect than hatred and anger. I often wonder how I came out the way I did. Anyways this is a good book.

Book Description from Amazon:

Book Description: from Amazon

Divorce can have a devastating effect on children. Yet for families who carefully consider and manage the intricacies associated with this difficult and upsetting time, the family, as seen from the child’s perspective, can remain strong, healthy, and as loving and supportive as it ever was.

Still a Family clearly and concisely lays out the specific emotions and reactions parents need to anticipate from their children while going through separation, divorce, and its aftermath. Rather than weighing parents down with complicated plans, confusing information, and legal terminology, this book takes a common-sense approach, providing readers in a state of emotional distress with the practical, down-to-earth advice they need to sensibly and comfortingly guide their children through this often painful process. The book covers the most common mistakes divorcing parents tend to make, as well as addressing special issues that come up for kids of different age groups. This is a much-needed repository of wisdom and practical counsel for any family going through a time of heightened feelings and fragile relationships.

Dr. Reynolds is a marriage and family therapist who teaches a mandatory class for all divorcing parents through the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies. She knows her topic well, and she presents her material in a reader-friendly manner that will appeal to parents from all walks of life
