Aloha Friday – Crying

Kailani says “In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.”

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

Seal – Romantic Singer

I love Seal. I have one of his CD’s and I love to listen to it. I actually haven’t listened to it in a while, but he is a fantastic singer. He is married to Heidi Klum. What a fantastic family.

Abe’s Amazing Promise

Tales Tales Tales, it’s what my daughter wants to watch. Veggie Tales! I’m very happy to accommodate when she asks to watch Veggie Tales. Today was the first time she even attempted to say veggie. I was so proud.

Why do we like to watch Veggie Tales in our house, they have a good moral/biblical message with them. Most of the stories reinforce a bible story and any way to bring the bible to life in my house is a great deal.

We have watched Veggie Tales: Abe & the Amazing Promise thanks to The Family Review Network and it was a hit. Again, again again, those were Zoe’s words when it was over. I think we watched it three days straight. The only reason we watched Veggie Tales Sing Alongs: Very Silly Songs is because the DVD wasn’t in the DVD drive. I know I can trust what is going on with Big Idea’s Veggie Tales. Most of the TV now is trash, we don’t even have cable anymore. We just turned it off, so we watch DVD’s and shows we pre-recorded a while back. I want my children to watch positive shows that will help them grow, and I feel that Veggie Tales is the way to go.

About Abe’s Amazing Promise:

Learn the story of Abraham and Sarah as they wait… and wait… and wait… for a promised child. Kids will learn God always keeps His promises, even if we have to wait awhile! Special appearance by our favorite radio host “Delilah” – performing the voice of Sarah!

Junior Asparagus is anxious for the new show production to be finished. Bob the Tomato responds to a fan’s letter about “waiting” by directing a Bible-times interview with Abraham, Sarah and their promised son. Bob & Junior’s patience is tested by splitting camels, a confused nurse, an easily distracted film crew, and a host of other laughable filming disasters!

The Evil Cashier

I hate going to Albertsons when there is only one cashier and it is the evil cashier. I’m sure you all have those evil cashiers that don’t quite understand how coupons work and thing that their understanding is the “only” way to ring them up.

I was too tired and already stressed out to argue with her, esp over 1.00 but she always hands be coupons backing saying, it didn’t scan. Well, sometimes you have to do an override. She WILL not do overrides.

I saved about 50 percent even though I didn’t get all of the coupons I was supposed to get. I also didn’t stick to my list today, I just bought things because there were coupons and they were on sale. I bought snacks for me and the kids and I usually don’t get myself any snacks. The only reason I went in today was to use my four dollars and I spent 40.00. I averaged 1.21 an item which isn’t too bad. Actually I saved a little over 50 percent, because some of the coupons were not counted in the savings. I know, it’s confusing. I had seven coupons that are buy this product at this price, so she did have to over ride those coupons and just type in a price, those don’t show up on my savings receipt, but I know that would add about 12 more dollars to 38.56.

I cringe every time I see this cashier. I always hope another one will come on because there is a line, but no line today so I couldn’t avoid her. My husband says they must take coupons out of their paychecks because they shouldn’t be so grumpy. They should be happy that someone is getting to save money. Just do your job. I’m sorry you don’t like ringing up coupons, just do your job and ….

I shouldn’t get so worked up over it. I should take a nap, but my son must be hungry and teething because he is refusing to take a nap.

Thomas is Coming To town

Thomas is coming to town. Thomas & Friends are live on stage, A Circus comes to Town. Thanks to Mom Select we received a family four pack of tickets to go see Thomas the Tank Engine.

When Thomas makes a bit mistake, all of the engines on the Island of Sodor must
work together to prepare for the exciting event under the Big top, and, Thomas
must prove he’s a really useful engine once again. With thrilling adverures
along the way, Percy, James, Gordon, and of course, Thomas, join with Sir Topham
hatt and the townspeople from the Island of Sodor, to welcome a colorful cast of
cirsuc performers in an engaging story that demonstrates the importance of
friendship and cooperation.

Oh boy, my daughter knows the word “chu chu”. She saw the tickets and knew they were for the “chu chu”. We had to give the tickets away because we won’t be able to go. They went to a family with two boys who both know who Thomas is. Check out the schedule to see when Thomas will be visiting you.

We live in an area that Thomas comes every summer. He comes and takes the kids on a ride over the Snoqualmie Falls. We didn’t go last year because my son was too little but we’ll be going this year. I’m really excited about taking my kids to meet Thomas for the first time. All the kids around here know who Thomas is because of the train ride in the summer.

I don’t need to get groceries, but I have four dollars to spend at Albertsons that will expire this week so I have to come up with something to get. I could use some spreadable butter, pasta is on sale, and I’ll just have to see what I’m low on and what’s on sale. I know that starting on Wednesday, General Mills is going to be on sale at Safeway. Good sale too. Buy 2 get 3 free. With five coupons you’ll hardly be paying anything, and add 10 percent. I’m going to Safeway next week.

Pledge Fabric Sweeper Giveaway

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Well, I’ll go ahead and give you some words. I received the Pledge Fabric Sweeper to review and I was really excited about it until I opened up the box. I got it out and I thought, this is going to pick up my dog’s hair? I thought it would break when I tried to use it. Looks are deceiving. It works very well.

I used it on my carpet, it sucks up dog hair like a vacuum. You can see from the picture how it looks like it vacuumed. To the left there is a gray area still covered in dog hair and the middle section is clean.

Now you can see it is full of dog hair. I have a German Sheppard and they shed so much hair. Growing up we had a Sheppard too and my step mom would use tape to get all of the dog hair off of the couch. This would have been much faster and last a lot longer than tape. With tape you have to keep pulling more off because it gets full very quickly.

The Pledge Fabric Sweeper is a great new product for people with pets. It would work great on my curtains, it’s not really meant for carpet but I used it on my carpet to show the most dramatic testing. It is made for:

  • Upholstered couches and chairs—so you can sit back and relax.
  • Pillows and cushions—Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper is great for removing pet hair from throw pillows, couch cushions, and bed pillows.
  • Car interiors—great for cleaning pet hair off upholstered car seats so you can roll down the window, without stirring up pet hair.

How to use:

  • Slide side-to-side on upholstered furniture using moderate pressure. Use short strokes of about 8-12 inches in each direction (as indicated by the arrows on the sweeper).
  • Fabric Sweeper is self-cleaning! As you go in one direction, one roller picks up the pet hair from the surface. When you go in the other direction, the second roller cleans off the first and pushes the pet hair inside.
  • If pet hair builds up on the rollers, repeat the side-to-side motion a few times on a clean area of the upholstery.

The Fabric Sweeper is on sale this week at Target for 4.99 but you have a chance to win it here on my blog.
