The Evil Cashier

I hate going to Albertsons when there is only one cashier and it is the evil cashier. I’m sure you all have those evil cashiers that don’t quite understand how coupons work and thing that their understanding is the “only” way to ring them up.

I was too tired and already stressed out to argue with her, esp over 1.00 but she always hands be coupons backing saying, it didn’t scan. Well, sometimes you have to do an override. She WILL not do overrides.

I saved about 50 percent even though I didn’t get all of the coupons I was supposed to get. I also didn’t stick to my list today, I just bought things because there were coupons and they were on sale. I bought snacks for me and the kids and I usually don’t get myself any snacks. The only reason I went in today was to use my four dollars and I spent 40.00. I averaged 1.21 an item which isn’t too bad. Actually I saved a little over 50 percent, because some of the coupons were not counted in the savings. I know, it’s confusing. I had seven coupons that are buy this product at this price, so she did have to over ride those coupons and just type in a price, those don’t show up on my savings receipt, but I know that would add about 12 more dollars to 38.56.

I cringe every time I see this cashier. I always hope another one will come on because there is a line, but no line today so I couldn’t avoid her. My husband says they must take coupons out of their paychecks because they shouldn’t be so grumpy. They should be happy that someone is getting to save money. Just do your job. I’m sorry you don’t like ringing up coupons, just do your job and ….

I shouldn’t get so worked up over it. I should take a nap, but my son must be hungry and teething because he is refusing to take a nap.

I have cashiers I try to avoid, too. No fun to go through their lines when they’re the last interaction you have with the grocery store. It makes having to go back the next week even more of a chore.

Yes, we all have cashiers that we try to avoid. I can’t stand dealing with a grumpy cashier – or worse, somebody who feels the need to spill their entire life’s problems on me, as if I didn’t have enough of my own.

i have one at rite aid i avoid. She always tells me I can’t use a more than one of the same coupon even when I purchase enough products. She reads the coupon wrong. They say ‘one coupon per purchase’ and she takes it to mean ‘one coupon per transaction’. I had this happen once at savewe-alot too with baby food. Cashier tried to tell me I could only use one, bvut I told her they’ve done it before. Plus I would have asked for manager if she didn’t do it.
