Mutsy Sent me a happy new year

These strollers that Mutsy makes seem to be very sturdy. I will only buy strollers that are made for the rugged outdoors. Too many strollers that you find in the super stores have cheap plastic wheels. Cheap wheels won’t work for me. I have to have the big wheels. We live on a gravel road where the mail box is about 1/2 a mile away.

The Mutsy strollers also look to be multi functional. I love when you can use something from birth to as long as possible. My kids were both over 8 lbs when they were born. I knew they were going to be big too so I never got an infant car seat/carrier. I also never worried about the stroller. I just used towels to help them keep their heads up. However, we were looking at strollers with multiple uses.

Here is what Mutsy says on their site.

interchangeability > The quintessential stroller for today’s modern parents,
the Mutsy Urban Rider offers unparalleled flexibility for baby transport.
Featuring strikingly clean lines for an urban-chic feel, your Urban Rider
provides a full-sized, cosseting bassinet for baby and a separate,
completely
adjustable seat to use as baby grows. The car seat adaptor,
dinner tray,
babysitter, shopping basket and Funseat are available
separately. All components
can be easily interchanged.

Mutsy also makes seating. I like the style high chair they make. It is very similar to the Stokke brand which is what we purchased. The child can grow with the seat. They are also able to sit at the table. One less tray to clean when they are sitting at the table. I think they also feel closer to the family meal.

You know, I have found that as I learn about more products, I buy what I know is good. I had never seen Mutsy before blogging. I have seen Mutsy on Momdot and on a few other sites. They seem to be a great company. I don’t have first hand experience so I’m not going to pretend that I do, but if you know about all of your options for seating and strollers then you’ll find you don’t have to settle for a piece of junk. Our first stroller was not very good. We had a Jeep jogging stroller. It drove me crazy. The front wheel was locked in place so I had to lift the stroller whenever I wanted to turn. Don’t ever buy a stroller that has a locked wheel.

Oh and just a quick question, what was your first thought with the ad above?

Rite Aid Money Maker

I went to Rite Aid today and transferred one prescription to get a 25.00 gift card. I’ll get the gift card when I pick up the prescription.

I also purchased the Garnier Fructis Conditioner. I purchased shampoo last time this was offered so I needed some conditioner. It is on sale for three dollars with a Single Check Rebate of 2.00. I added a coupon for 1.00 making the conditioner free.

I then purchased 10 soy joy bars. These are a great snack because they are packed with protein. They are on sale 10 for 5 and then I added a coupon for 3.00 off and Rite Aid is offering 5.00 back for the purchase so I made three dollars from the coupon. If you didn’t get a coupon in the paper you can print a coupon for 1.00 off of 5. Print it twice to get 2.00 off of ten.

My total out of pocket was 4.27 and I used my 10.00 gift card. I’m going to get 7.00 back from the Single Check Rebate program.

While I was there I picked up a Single Check Rebate packet and found that this month there are two ways to get ten dollar gift cards from Rite Aid. You can purchase 25.00 in Kimberly Clarke products (super easy when buying diapers) or you can purchase 25.00 in qualifying medicine such as Tylenol and Pepto Bismol and get a 10.00 gift card. This is a little harder to do but with coupons can work out to getting some pretty cheap drugs.

REI – sale goes to extra 50%

I love to shop at REI but I hate to spend the money on REI. I just bought my son his first pair of shoes at REI yesterday.
While I was there the associate was kind enough to tell me that everything that ends in .83 cents will be going to an extra 50 percent off on Friday morning. So do you want to know where I’ll be Friday morning? That’s right, I’ll be at REI, where I can pick up some KEENS, Merrels and maybe something special for me for cheaper than knock off brands on sale at Target.

LOVE IT

I’m off to RiteAid to see if I can get a gift card for 50.00 for transferring some prescriptions.

Wordless Wednesday Two

Safeway Freebie 20 boxes of Pop Tarts

Yes, today I went and ran some errands. I dropped in at Safeway and I used my 99 cent limitless coupons. To my surprise there were PEELIES on the boxes, making the pop tarts FREE.

I also used my 28.99 coupon to get super size boxes of diapers that are 29.99 at Target. 1.00 saved is a 1.00 earned. I purchased two boxes so that I would spend over 50.00. I have an Entertainment book and used the 5 dollars off of 50.00 to pay for the hamburger meat I purchased. So for my entire visit I paid for two boxes of diapers. I did well today.

Tomorrow I plan to go to RiteAid. I’ll let you know how that turns out. I plan to spend nothing out of pocket.

Where to save on Groceries

First off I have to say that the Sunday paper is FULL of coupons. I purchased two papers to get all of the coupons. If you want to see a preview of the coupons before you buy a paper you can view them at
The Coupon Clippers
Safeway
has a lot of good coupons in their paper ad. I cut out the ones that I will use, such as the 99 cent Pop Tart Coupon and the large box of diaper coupon for 28.99. That is a dollar cheaper than the big box at target. Both coupons are for endless supply. I’m stocking up on diapers from Safeway this week. You can always visit Super Coupon Girl for more ways to save at Safeway.

Albertsons
has lots of good deals. I’m going tomorrow and they’ll change their add tomorrow. I cut up a ton of Safeway coupons so I can use the extra Safeway coupons at Albertsons, so I’ll be stocking up on Pop Tarts for my husband. You can’t beat 99 cents a box except free, but I’m out of manufacturers coupons.

RiteAid
gave me two gifts for last month. I received a check from their single check rebate program. It is so easy to use and I get money back from everything I purchase. The other gift was a 10.00 gift card for spending 25.00 on Proctor and Gamble. This week you can get
GARNIER FRUCTIS Shampoo, Conditioner or Stylers Price: $3.00(After $2.00 mail-in rebate, your final price is $1.00!) add 1.00 coupon and it is free.
Soy Joy nutritional bars are free after rebate. This should be a money maker as there are lots of soy joy coupons around. These are great for donations or snacks for kids.
Diabetic Supplies are often free after coupons and sales at RiteAid. Those are the only things you can get free this week but there are some other good deals. Check your paper or go online

Walgreens
I looked at the Walgreens ad but it makes me sick to my stomach and very dizzy to go into their stores. I was working two jobs a few years ago and I did the graveyard trip at Walgreens so I CAN not step foot into Walgreens without getting sick, because I got sick working two jobs. I was way too tired and hungry and it was just bad.
However, that shouldn’t stop others from making money while shopping. The ad this week did look pretty good and a lot of people have scenarios up.
One example
-Ajax 3/$1, with flyer coupon.
-Garnier fructis $2.99-$2 easysaver q-$1 man q=free or $0.01 overage if the cashier doesn’t override the coupon.
-Loreal makeup b1g1-Kelloggs cereal 4/$10 use 4 $1 coupons=$6
You can always visit Super Coupon Girl for more ways to save at Walgreens.

CVS
is not local to where I am. I am jealous of those that live near one because making money at CVS seems to happen all the time. They also have a survey program where you can earn gift cards to spend in their stores. It is just too good to be true. So you can use Keeping the Kingdom First and The “Cent”sible Sawyer and “Cents”able Mom.

Target
I walked around Target looking for good deals on Sunday and I didn’t find anything that I had to have. There was a shirt I wanted for 2 bucks but it was a Christmas shirt and I wasn’t sure how much I would wear it so I didn’t buy it. If there is any Christmas stuff left it is on sale for 90 percent off right now. This includes soap and makeup gift sets. Combine with a coupon and they’ll be close to free. I bought two shaving sets last week for just three dollars with coupons and on clearance. For all of the deals on the Target ads and coupons combinations visit Attention Target Shoppers.

Meal Plan Monday Jan 5

I received four cookbooks for Christmas. Yes I love to look at cookbooks. I also love to cook. I don’t always have time for elaborate meals so I like to take a recipe out of a book and make it quicker and how my family will like it.
I also want to start making things that are lower in calories.

Tex Mex Chicken Soup

was on the menu for today, and it was great other than the fact that I burnt the noodle. My daughter though, she loves it. She’s great with a spoon

So for the rest of the week.

Tuesday – Tostada Bowls

Wednesday – Biscuit Sandwiches

Thursday – Taco Salad

Friday – Alfredo Pizza

Saturday – Leftovers

Sunday – Macaroni and Cheese and green beans

I need to buy:

Hamburger Meat

Nacho Cheese Soup

Mustard for a recipe for the following week

Zucchini

Lime Juice (next time I make fish)

Whole Olives

Lettuce

Ranch Dressing

Enchilada Sauce

New potatoes (next week recipe)

egg noodles for the Alfredo pizza

mushrooms

Pardon my Dust

I’m working on my site and changing the colors fonts and layout. You might come by to check out what I have so far. Something might get broken; I’ll fix it as soon as I can. I’m working on the HTML.
