Addicted To Freebies
I love to sign up for freebies. I think this is something that I might have inadvertently picked up from my mom. When she goes places, like fairs, or concerts, or workshops, pretty much anywhere and there is table of swag she likes to fill up a bag with all of it. It would drive me crazy when I was growing up. I would just want to go home or go hang out with my friends and she would be dragging me around looking for freebies.
I have refined myself from her habits a bit. I like to get stuff that I’m going to use. Otherwise it is waste and it takes up room in my garbage can and it hurts the environment. So, I try to sign up for only stuff that I am going to use or that will send me a coupon.
Where do I find my freebies? Everywhere. Shopping at the pharmacy stores has been great lately. I had no idea Rite Aid had good deals. I thought it was expensive at first. Wrong! Well it can be expensive if you buy stuff that isn’t on sale. For more deals at Rite Aid, Walgreens, or CVS, visit Centsable Momma, My Precious Pennies, or Coupon Cravings.
You can also find freebies at Target when you combine Target coupons with manufacturer coupons. I had to go to Target today because I had quite a few coupons that expired today that were Target coupons. I combined those with sales and manufacturer coupons and got some baby shampoo for free and some baby wipes for dirt cheap.
I also find freebies through on-line searches and I write freebies listings for MomGiveaways. I submitted a very large list of Freebies tonight so go over there and get addicted.
Rite Aid Breaking it down
At the last minute before I went to bed last night. I was reading my subscriptions and I found a coupon for 5 off spending 25.00 at Rite Aid.
Southern Savers has the link.
This works for Huggies Supreme Jumbo Size, Pull ups Jumbo Size, Huggies Overnight diapers

What you will get back next month
one two dollar rebate
one ten dollar gift card to spend at Rite Aid
You can also get 75 cents for every UPC and receipt at The Caregivers Marketplace
So you can get 12.00 back from Rite Aid and 2.25 from The Caregivers Marketplace. That is like getting two bags free.
I don’t think I’m going to do the medical rebate because I can’t spend 25.00 on things we need. My suggestion if you like to buy stuff because it’s almost free need it or not.
Get as many coupons for Excedrin as you can for 2.00 off.
Buy the Benefiber using the 2.00 off coupons in various papers.
Or any of the other drug combination. There are tons of coupons out there.
Meal Plan Monday
Rite Aid This Week
So This week I’m going to get diapers at Rite Aid. I have a gift card that I picked up last week for transferring a prescription.
3 Huggies Supreme at 9.99 a bag = 29.97 – (3 coupons for 1.5 = 4.50) – 2.00 single check rebate – 10.00 gift card. = 13.47 so three bags of diapers for 14 dollars is great. Now this is how I’m going to pay for them.
I will pay 25.47 ( that is 29.97 – 4.50) use my 25.00 gift card = .47 plus tax and then use my other gift card from the Proctor and Gamble promotion. I will have zero out of pocket. I will get the 2.00 back from the single check rebate and I will get a 10.00 gift card to use next month.
The tax might wipe out my P&G gift card but if I have any left I’m going to use it on the drug deal. Saying drug deal looks really bad. Perhaps I should say on the medication deal. I am looking for the best possible combination using coupons to spend 25.00 with the smallest amount out of pocket.
Pepto Bismal 2.99 (I’m still looking through my coupons for a coupon)
Children’s Tylenol 2 at 4.99 = 9.98 – 2.50 coupon = 7.48
Tylenol allergy cold 2 at 4.99 = 9.98 – 3.00 is the best coupon I can find = 7.00
Excedrin on sale for 1.99 – 2.00 SCR – 1.00 coupon = Make a dollar
Neosporan (looking for coupon and price)
Benefiber is 9.99 – 4.00 SCR – 2.00 coupon = 3.99 (I don’t need benefiber though so this doesn’t help me)
I’ll have to explain this deal after I make the purchase. All of the deals below the SCR lasts until January 24th unless you live in California and it lasts until January 22.
Bic Soleil – 2.00 SCR (still looking for the coupons)
Powerade – buy 5 for 5 get 1 SCR use the coupon 40 cent off coupon from the paper = 5 for 2.00
Glide – 1.00 SCR – 1.00 Coupon (not sure what the price is yet)
Electrasol – 2.00 Single Check Rebate combine that with coupon in the paper for 2.50 off = free.
Wine Catastrophe Giveaway
I have to also say that I haven’t had anything to drink (well much) for almost over two years. I’ve been pregnant every Christmas and for New Years. This was the first time for me to drink more than one Mike’s Hard Lemonade. I’m getting ready to open my wine bottle and I’ve seen my friends do this so I feel comfortable. My husband isn’t so sure about my ability because I have never done it before. “Do you know what you are doing” He asked
None of this is the point. The point is MyBlogSpark has generously offered two of my readers a Savorings the moment gift basket. I love Pillsbury and I did try the Savorings. I couldn’t wait for my coupon so I went out and bought the Pepperoni flavor. I made it for dinner. Pepperoni is very greasy so I used a paper towel to sop up the extra grease. I cut up one for my daughter and I made green beans.

Fitness Friday
So it is Fitness Friday, oh my goodness it’s almost Sunday. That sums up my week just about when it comes to exercising. Let’s go through the journal
Monday: I went to Rite Aid and Safeway and REI and I forgot my stroller. So, I carried two children about 50 lbs plus the diaper bag down the stairs at REI and through Rite Aid, well I got a little bit of a break because my daughter was willing to walk. Safeway I used the cart until she got a little grumpy and I carried her bit while my son rode in the cart. Then I was exhausted and I crashed at home and did nothing the rest of the day.
Tuesday: I went to the drive through window of the bank and Albertsons. We used the car cart so both of my children pretended to drive while I shopped. Thank God for car carts at grocery stores.
Wed: umm we stayed home and played. I didn’t excersice at all
Thur: more of the same
Friday: I went to REI and fought the crowd to get some shoes for everyone except dad and dad got pants and a coat. Next month I am not allowed to step foot in REI. Twice in one week Crazy. But I did get a good deal. If only losing weight was as easy as saving money. Then I went to Rite Aid to pick up prescriptions and I carried my son because it was a quick trip in and out.
My eating habits this week were terrible. I had cake twice for a nap time snack and I didn’t drink a lot of water. I didn’t even look for a Wii this week. I’m going to budget it in for my B-day in May.
I’m going to have to set some small goals for myself.
- Drink water
- No cake
- Eat more Protein
Wish me luck
Aloha Friday Flower Power
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too and I decided to join her, until I became addicted to memes. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response and I’ll post my other memes.
If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends! You should start with Kailani
My question…
What is your favorite flower?
Mine is and has always been a rose. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved roses. Now I try to grow them in a state where the sun doesn’t shine. Ok, it shines a bit in the summer and then the deer eat my roses.
Twas a month after Christmas
Every creature was stirring, especially my spouse;
The stocking were thrown in the floor without a care
In hopes they would go away and disappear;
The children covered the floor toys all around
While mom had visions of peace and no sound
With Windex in one hand and Oust in the other
I set out to clean and thought “Why Bother?”
When I look at the tree and the lights all a glitter
I yell pack yourself in this box or go find me a babysitter.
Away to the shed I run in a dash
To grab all the boxes before the dust gives me a rash
The clear Zip Lock bags let all my junk show
With lustre and brilliance stacked all in a row
With all the hard work the stacks finally disappear
While I’m thinking Why repeat this next year?
With the joy it brings, so lively and quick
The Glade candles still burning I should cut the wick
The family is happy and oh what a sight
The cleaning is done, I’m sleeping tonight!
To participate this week, blog about how you are cleaning up after Christmas this year.
We had a small family Christmas, we got out the tree, decorations, and lights not too much. Well add on the stockings, dishes, and nick nacks and putting it all away is daunting. I’m not really done. I’m still at the stage of asking it all to put itself away. That’s right, I haven’t even started yet. I’d rather sit on the couch and blog.
I have promised my son I would put it away before his first birthday in March. That is the best I can do.
