A Mother’s Promise Evenflow on Facebook

I love to drive long distance but I hate driving from here to there in the city driving. So many times there are drivers that are not paying attention. Let’s see, you have all kinds of distractions inside and outside your car. Do you pass by accidents and have to see what is going on, even if you are driving? Why do we like to see how terrible the accident is? Do you fiddle with your radio, GPS, or phone? In the state of Washington it is illegal to talk on your phone while driving. You can not text or talk unless you are using a hands free device that IS SET UP BEFORE YOU START DRIVING.

What about those drivers that are fixing their hair with their sunshade down looking at themselves in the mirror. Or the ones putting on makeup while driving. It drives me crazy. I know, I shouldn’t be looking at them; I should be concentrating on driving. I need to keep my kids safe. I’m not always abiding by as safely as I can. So I have promised to do better to keep my kids safe while driving.

UPS


UPS showed up at our house last night at seven. They had a hard time because it was pitch black outside. It is pitch black outside in the winter at about four. They only brought us two boxes. I’m not being greedy I promise, but our camera broke, my digital rebel has stopped functioning. It no longer focuses. I’ve been having trouble with it lately and I thought I was going crazy because getting a focused picture was impossible. I’m glad to find out it was me. I’m trying to work with Cannon, but I think we’re just going to get a new one. My husband wanted the new Rebel that came out recently anyways. Acutally, my husband already ordered the new one and that is why we are so anxious for UPS to show up with our camera that we paid for shipping on so that it would be here way before Christmas. Hello, we have to be able to take pictures of our babies opening presents. We took video, but I want pictures before I take down the Christmas tree.

As I saw in the comments we’re not the only ones that haven’t gotten all of our packages. What do you do when your santa presents don’t come. Ummmm, Santa is running behind honey, I’m sure he’ll eventually find our house?

My husband called UPS again last night and they said we’ll be all caught up by Friday. I hope so, for all of the people in our area that haven’t gotten their packages. Well, we had a white Christmas without presents. ;-) (we had presents, looks like others were in worse shape than us)



TARGET

I’m not mad at Target anymore either. Many of you need to know. Target rectified the situation with me. Some people are still upset but I’m happy with the 25.00 e-certificate that I already spent. I bought my daughter’s b-day present with it. The item I was eyeing up for her went on sale and had free shipping. I couldn’t pass that up. I also earned some money off of with my Ebates account. If you sign up today at Ebates you get 10.00 put into your account. You do have to make a qualifing purchase within a month I think. So go sign up real quick and then think about which store you want to shop at. I like to shop at Target. I’m just too far from Wal Mart. I do love Wal Mart. We went there all the time growing up. It was hard at first to make the transition to Target. Target is more expensive and isn’t as big. Wal Mart has a lager selection. Well, Target is cleaner.

UPS Let me Down

UPS has not delivered a package to my house since December 17th. My mom sent her Christmas presents to the kids through UPS. So did my father. We purchased another water bottle for me because I lost one somewhere and it should have been here December 19th. It started snowing on December 18th. Then because of the snow, the deliveries stopped.

Amazon still delivered their Amazon Fresh deliveries. They stopped taking deliveries until they got caught up, but one of my friends said she was happy to get her delivery a little late than not at all. Good job Amazon. I’m sure Amazon will credit us the shipping cost for the one we paid delivery for, but good grief.

The mail man never stopped. We have locked mail boxes about 1/2 a mile away from our house. The mail man never leaves boxes at our house unless there is a substitute driver. We get a slip in the box saying we have to go to the post office to pick up a package. Well, starting December 18 the mail man started leaving notices in our box that the weather was so bad he wasn’t bringing boxes to our house. I was confused because he doesn’t bring boxes to our house anyways. Well, we didn’t go pick up our packages until after Christmas anyways. We had three boxes waiting for us. Point being, the mail man still made it to our box. UPS has been completely out of site.

Calling UPS has been a PAIN IN THE BUTT. My husband has been calling for a week now.
“Can I talk to the local office?”
No the only information they can give us is what we can find ourselves on-line.
“Can we pick up our packages?”
No the only information they can give us is what we can find ourselves on-line.
He called yesterday and the lady on the phone was very nice and said we’re going to be packing up any and all vehicles we can find to deliver our back log tonight. We are delivering until 11:00 PM. Did our packages show up???
NO.

UPS, I understand the weather slowing you down but it has been two weeks since you have been out to our house. We had to use chains to go get groceries but we went out three times. What is the big deal. It was just two feet of snow. Don’t some states have snow all winter long? Should I mention that the snow has been melting since Sunday!

I don’t need anything at the grocery store except lime juice and a red sauce.

Skin MD – winners and A New Giveaway

For my last review I gave away three samples Number 1, 7, and 8. If you won I sent you an e-mail or left a comment on your blog. I’ll give you a while to get back to me because it is the holidays. I was contacted by Family Review Network right after I posted and they are offering one to giveaway in conjunction with Skin MD. A Whole bottle of a wonderful skin care product, one bottle is worth 25.00!

All I have to do for my readers is to post my review again with a few additions. Well, you guys are worth that. :-)

I love testing new products. I have received a new lotion to try from Skin MD. They have recently come out with a shielding lotion that has SPF 15. I’m so excited by this. Not only is it a lotion that I can use on my sensitive skin but it has SPF. You should never go outdoors with out sunblock on. Especially if you have fair skin like me. Update, it’s still keeping my hands from getting dry.

I have very sensitive skin and it is dry during the winter time. I also have some weird unexplained allergy to some chemical. I haven’t been tested so I have no idea what it is. I thought it was dust because every time I clean I get this itchy red skin. But it doesn’t happen if I just run my hand through a dusty shelf.

Well, after reading about chemicals in products and how they affect people I began to realize it could be the chemicals. I recently tried Vaseline’s New lotion line and it made my skin incredibly itchy. I had to run my hands under cold water for ten minutes before they stopped itching.

Well, Skin MD does not make me itch and I like the smell of it. My daughter who is 23 months old likes the smell of it as well. She does what every she can to try and get to the bottle. She loves to put on lotion, but she wants to lick it off too.

I also recently tested some lotion from Bath and Body works, MySurvey, can’t share the details, but the smell was so strong it made me sick. My husband also complained about the smell. With Skin MD he didn’t even realize I was testing a new lotion type.

My daughter has Eczema sometimes and recently has broken out with a rash under her neck. I put some of this lotion on her and her neck stopped bothering her. I’m not claiming it as a miracle cure for Eczema. My daughter has very mild Eczema and only occasionally.

What Is A Shielding Lotion? You can click on the link for their definition, but this is my take on it. Shielding lotion is a lotion that will keep in good oils and natural things that your body makes and keeps irritants and chemicals out. This is good for people like me with an allergy.

New Years Resolutions

My New Years Resolutions are stacking up on me. With the holidays and my daughter’s birthday here my diet flew out the window. So number one is getting back on the diet. My diet is mostly eating healthy with more protein and fewer cookies. I have a tendency to eat a dozen at a time.

My husband bought me a pocket bible, well it’s a little bigger than a pocket size but it is still small enough for me to keep on me. So my resolution is to carry it with me and read it. He also bought me a new devotional bible so I hope to be able to do a devotion at least three times a week with the goal of every day. I have learned that I need to make obtainable goals or I’ll just give up.

I need to get more organized so that I can get more done. Sometimes at night when I have posts I need to write for different sites; I completely forget what I was going to write about. For example tonight. I was going to write a post for Props and Pans, but I just can’t remember what I was going to write about. I was going to submit a Monday Must Have, and I forgot what it was that I can’t live without. Ironic isn’t it. I also need to write some posts for my best friend under Freebies over at Mom Giveaways, but now I just want to crawl into bed and it is only 8. I’m getting old in my young age.

Now, as part of my first resolution, I need to go out and walk every day. No matter what the weather is. It will be good for my kids to get the fresh air as well. We need to walk to the mail box and not get in the van and drive. I started driving to the mail box as soon as the rainy season hit. Yep, I’m lazy!! It’s a mile there and back.

Oh, and I want to write better posts to help you save money. Where to you shop? I need to write my meal plan too.

I also need to stop procrastinating every month in writing my MOMS CLUB Newsletter every month. I have so many pages left. I better go work on it.

Merry Christmas

In honor of Christmas I wanted to say

Merry Christmas.

It was a great day with the kids. We didn’t go outside because there is tons of snow and my kids can hardly walk in it. It is beautiful outside but when will it stop. Today is “supposed” to be the last day. We shall see. Tomorrow the rain starts and the flooding begins. Where will all this water go?

Wait, it’s Christmas.

I am happy and thankful and cheerful. ;-)

I am thankful for God, my family and to all of you! Tomorrow I’m going to try really hard and review the Chronological Bible that has been sitting on my shelf for a while now to review. It is really nice!!!
