Mobi Books for Me and You

I have a great thing to offer to you. MobiStories and MomSelect has offered my readers $10.00 worth of books. Let me tell you why you want to take advantage of this offer.

Mobistories are digital books that can be downloaded onto your computer, certain phones, ipods, zunes, and media centers. The list may go even further, but I downloaded four books to try out. I chose to download it to my computer and then copied it over to the zune.

We have a free speaker that we got from a Kelloggs rebate that we use for our zune. Now my daughter can listen to the books. She is sick today so she didn’t show a lot of interest in the books. She just wanted to cuddle with mommy, but I really like how she can follow the words of the books. She is a bit young to learn how to read right now but I thought it would be a fun thing for her to listen to.

You can choose books from the following age groups:

Your coupon code is 219A you have to use the whole coupon at once. It will not recognize you the second time and you have to use it before December 31st. They have an excellent customer service department. I had trouble with one of my files becoming corrupt during the download. My Internet crashed. I sent them an e-mail and they responded withing a few hours. I was quite please with this service so you should expect great things from MobiStories.

Most unusual gift you have received? Best gift? Do you re-gift?

I usually don’t re-gift except for White Elephant gifts.

My best gift, was a cutting board my husband got me for my art. It is so easy to use and I can cut matts out to matt my art work. In college I majored in computer science but my emphasis was art. So I like to paint using water colors, oils, and acrylics. Oh wait.

Two years ago, we had a winter storm and we were without power for a week. I was 9 months pregnant and ready to burst. No shower, no heat, no light after four pm. I was miserable. When we called the power company they said we would be lucky to have power before Christmas. I was so depressed at the thought of spending Christmas in the dark. We got power back before Christmas. YEAH.

My most unusual gift. Nothing comes to mind.

Meal Plan Monday

Click on the picture to get more of Meal plan Monday.
Monday – Turkey Poppy Seed Chicken
Tuesday – Leftovers
Wed – Chili tator tots
Thurs – sausage cheese ball (not for dinner we’re eating at our MOMS Club)
Friday – not going to want to cook
Sat – mac and cheese,
Sun – pizza
I’m trying to cook healthier. We don’t eat junk, but we need to be eating stuff lower in calories. I’m having a very hard time coming up with something to eat today but I don’t need to go to the grocery store. I just need to drop into Costco and get some green beans, but I’ll put that off until next week. So no trips to the store.

Coupon Mastery

So today I did it. I got all this for 11.80

Total before coupons was 93.77

This is a Turkey, 2 Dr Peppers, 11 pouches of tuna, 4 packages of sausage, four more fresh packages of sausage, 7 cans of baby food 3 packages of pop tarts, and 1 kit kat. Now this is funny. I had to buy the kit kat so that I could use a 5.00 off 50.00 coupon. I was at 49.79 or something like that so she said I had to buy something else to use the coupon. It was worth it.

How did I do this?
Coupons!!!!
Albertsons, takes competitor coupons. My five dollars off 50 was from the Entertainment book.
I had a 15.00 off turkey coupon from The Parent Bloggers Network, I had 2 free coupons for the Dr. Pepper for buying a turkey, I had 11 1.00 off coupons for the tuna (on sale for 10 for 10). The sausage was on sale for 2 for 5 with a coupon machine giving me 1.00 off coupons, so it ends up 2 for 3. Then each sausage had a coupon for one free fresh package of sausage. I went to Albertsons earlier this week and for buying all of this sausage I got a Catalina coupon for three dollars off. So I got all 8 packages of sausage for 3.00. WOW. I did spend more than I planned on because some of the packages of tuna I purchaesd were not on sale, but I wanted them anyways because they looked like a good flavor. Coupons do work!!!

Aloha Friday

Ok, so today is the day of rest for those of us who participate in Aloha Friday, but I am participating in the blog party over at momdot so I’m not going to be taking it easy. I also have to drop some entrecards. I am trying to get traffic to my site. I hit 300 last Friday, for some of you that is a very small number. I’m quite proud. (just don’t tell anyone that I dropped right back to 150).

Is there a name you wanted to name your child (if you have one or what you would if you don’t) that you did not name them because it was too embarrasing of a name to choose?

I wanted to name my daughter a lot of different things. Galadrial or Arowin from The Lord of the Rings. Cortana from Halo. (my husband and I are gamers)

My son, I wanted to name him Lucious but my sister said that is bad bad bad. So we named him Miles after Miles O’brian on Star Trek. If you are a Trekky you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Do you shop on Black Friday? What time do you start? Do you complete your shopping this day? What’s the best deal you have ever found? What’s your shopping strategy?

I do not shop in Black Friday, it drives me crazy. Parking in parking lots drives me crazy. People drive me crazy. I am a very friendly shy person and being around pushy people is scary and makes me want to find the quickest exit.

I hate confrontation and Black Friday is one big line of confrontation after another. I do like to shop the day after Christmas though. Really nice sales and not as crazy as Black Friday.

My shopping strategy is online.

Short and sweet carry on to the next blog.

DAY SEVEN QUESTION

Tell us who is on your naughty list? Who is on your nice list? Why?

Target is on my naughty list.

For those of you who have no read my post. Target was on the new saying that they are expected to have lower than normal prices on their website to compete with Walmart, but don’t get your hopes up because they may not honor the low price. I ordered a car seat from Target as did MANY other moms and I got an order confirmation, and even ebates got an order confirmation from Target. Then they sent me a cancellation. Saying we’re sorry, this was a price mistake.

Hmmmm. Well, I think they should honor the price. If I was in the store they would honor the price, why is it that websites don’t have to honor their prices. People are so upset over this they have decided to boycott Target. I don’t know how I can boycott Target. We don’t have a Walmart. I’m going to try to use Rite Aid and order on-line more so that I can boycott Target.

My Nice list?

My children of course. I love my children and they are so special and sweet. As are all of your children I’m sure.

Back to the naughty list…

I am on the naughty list. I am so far behind on my blogging because of this blog party. I don’t know how most of you are able to post to this party every day and do all of your other posts. I have a three reviews and some more I’m supposed to be working on and all I want to do is have fun in this party. I’m still not done posting to all of the day three participants, let alone starting on day four.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bumkins – Review and Giveaway

Have you heard of Bumkins? Bumkins is another company that I worked with when I was in retail. I knew they made bibs and diapers, but I had no idea how cute the Dr. Seuss Line is.

That is my little man. What is he wearing? He is stylin in his new Bumkins PJ’s.
Bumkins also makes wonderful Bibs. We have been using Bumkins Super Bib for over a year now. The first one we got was free from Microsoft and we loved it so much we had to go out and buy more. I promise you will love them. Use them and throw them in the laundry or in the sink and wash by hand (I prefer the laundry). We wash them over and over and over. They are so durable. We have nine or ten of these. My next purchase is going to be the art smock. My daughter is interested in the finger paints in her room.

This is my little man playing with the ornament you can win. Well you can win a whole set of them. I just got one. (oh and I don’t think that Bumpkins meant for babies to play with them, I just thought it was cute).

To receive the Free Grinch Superbib and automatically be entered to win a four pack of Dr.Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas Ornaments! Just enter grinch08 at checkout to receive your complimentary bib.

Blog Party Day 6

First I wanted to answer some questions from yesterday.

The trick or treat was organized by warning the neighborhood first. My MOMS Club dropped off bags to a neighborhood a week before Halloween with information on the bags saying we would be back at 11:00 in the afternoon to pick up the bags. So we got our kids all dressed up for Halloween and drug wagons around the neighborhood and picked up the food. We ended up with 20 bags of food.

I was hoping for more, but we noticed a few notices in the neighborhood for water shut off. That is one step away from losing your house. It was a nice neighborhood so I was surprised to see so many.

Favorite holiday memory from YOUR childhood?

My favorite memory is when my family would put the tree up. We would turn on the Christmas music and have a glass of eggnog. Then we would decorate the tree. My dad says we used to fight over who got to put up the star, but I don’t remember fighting all I remember is getting everything out and putting the ornaments on the tree.

We also had a candle decoration that when you light the candles the fan at the top would go around and around. It would also jingle a bell on every rotation. These are the kinds of memories I hope my children can have.
