Sunday Savings

So for the month of September I kept all my receipts again. I’m NOT going to post the number. Last month I only saved 300 something dollars with coupons. Now this is a good number, but we put a budget together with all of my receipts and found a BIG problem. So, we set a budget. A REAL budget for the first time. One that we can and have to stay within. So the month of October will be the first test to see if coupon clipping can make a difference. We made a WORST case scenario. That means, I didn’t clip any coupons at all. So I know that I can make a difference in our budget. We just wish there was more we can take out of our budget.

We put in fun money and One vacation trip a year. Not including one for this year because I promise we have over spent enough this year.

I am very optimistic with what we have a head of us.

Louise, your budget idea is great. We, too, have a budget – both my husband and I were laid off from work. Ours is very similar to yours – worst case, no coupons – 1 trip a year. When I do save on my grocery trip(s), I deduct all of the money from my checking account – even the part saved by coupons. Then when I balance my checkbook, that extra money is put away for our vacation. I started slow and did only half at first, but am now up to all of my coupon amounts into savings.

great job. it is inspiring to hear that other people are making progress as they go on. It is slow to start because you have to have a coupon collection to make a difference.
