Nerves Of a Sheppard

Growing up, my dad hated dogs. So it took a lot of begging from my stepmother to let us have a dog. We had a poodle named Pixie and my sister and I used to dress her up. I wasn’t big on dogs for a long time.

My husband grew up with dogs. His family was poor and homeless at one time, but they always had a dog. So, when we got married, we decided to have a dog.

Yes, I say that like have a baby. Everyone says you should get a dog before you have children. I think you should. Potty training a puppy is not as bad as feeding a newborn, but you do have to get up at any hour during the night to let them go outside. My first baby, I fell in love with him.

We named him Chewbacca (star wars). He grew into his name. He chewed on everything, the furniture, shoes, balls. He was very easy to train though. The funniest thing was how he liked to walk himself. He would carry the leash in his mouth while we walked. :-)

Well, Chewbacca was a great test to finding out that we did want to have kids. So, five years later we had Zoe. Now, we went through other dogs looking for a compatible playmate for Chewbacca and that is how we ended up with General Jack O’Neil (stargate SG-1).

Chewbacca didn’t like Zoe, so he had to go. It was really hard to say good bye to my dog. Jack however, loves Zoe. He would always come get one of us whenever she was crying. It was harder on Jack to teach Zoe to sleep through the night than it was for her father and I.

Jack also has some nervous issues. I “think” he would protect us if someone was tyring to break in, but I’m not sure. If they were to raise their voice, he might just scour away and hide. He is a German Sheppard though, so he looks big and scary; however, he is the sweetest and most loving dog. Just don’t raise your voice.

Burger King has new iDogs. We bought one last year as a birthday gift for my husbands sister. It was pretty fun. I think it was actually a turtle.

Yoplait even more coupons

Three new flavors: Pineapple upside down cake, Strawberry Short Cake , and Raspberry Cheesecake. I think I am most interested in trying the shortcake flavor. I have yet to try them because I have a back stock of yogurt.

Here is more from Pssst :
“Yoplait is expanding its Yoplait Light offering to feature even more delectable options Americans enjoy – and each new flavor is a healthful alternative to higher-calorie choices. For example, one 6 oz. cup of Yoplait Light Pineapple Upside-Down Cake yogurt contains 110 calories and 0 grams of fat. Compare that to a slice of traditional Pineapple Upside-Down Cake from the bakery or dessert menu, which delivers on average 367 calories and 14 grams of fat*. In addition, each serving of the new Yoplait Light cups contains 20 percent of the recommended daily value of calcium and vitamin D and 110 fat-free calories – the only leading yogurt with calcium and vitamin D in every cup.”
I have had Yopliat Light before, just not these tantalizing flavors. You can’t tell that it is light. It is just as good as full fat yogurt and it is better for you. My daughter loves yogurt and feels really special when I give her one of mommy’s.
Here is a coupon you can print yourself,

Pssst – Share – coupon and recipe

I still have coupons for the chicken broth:

Mashed Potato Gratin
Prep Time: 40 Min
Start to Finish: 1 Hr 10 Min

Unsalted butter for greasing casserole
2 1/2 cups Progresso® chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
4 large russet potatoes, peeled, finely chopped (5 cups)
1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste, if desired
1/2 cup Progresso® Italian style panko crispy bread crumbs

1. Heat oven to 375ºF. Lightly butter 2-quart casserole. Pour broth into 2-quart saucepan. Add potatoes; stir in 1 teaspoon salt. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender. Place colander over medium bowl; drain potatoes, reserving broth.

2. Rinse and dry saucepan. In saucepan, cook 2 tablespoons of the butter and the garlic over low heat 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Return potatoes to saucepan with butter and garlic; mash with potato masher.

3. Add 1 cup of the reserved broth to potatoes; mix until smooth. Stir in remaining 2 tablespoons butter and 1/4 cup of the cheese. Adjust seasoning to taste with salt and pepper. Spoon potato mixture into casserole. Top with remaining 1/4 cup cheese and the bread crumbs.
4. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown.

My babies Shoes

Look at these shoes from Pediped. These shoes are now her favorite shoes. She used to only want to wear her Keen sandals no matter what the weather was outside. Now she wants to wear these. These can be found on the Pediped website. They are the Jane style.

As I mentioned before they are so flexible. They are soft and must be really comfortable. Zoe, wears a size five in most shoes. She is a six in Keens (she just outgrew the five). I was being frugal and thought well, she already has a size five; let’s get her the next size. We got her a size six and put in the extra pad and they fit her. She’ll take them off herself if she doesn’t like the way they fit.

Instead with these, she throws a fit when mommy takes them off.
She is turning out to be just like Mommy and liking shoes and hats. She is actually more of a fashion bug than i am.

She carries purses and brushes her hair. I know she is going to stop all the boys in their tracks. (of course I am biased.)

You can find many different shoes at pediped. They have shoes for newborns to size 29.

Marie-Therese Gown GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Marie-Therese Gown GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Wow, this is an awesome gown. Go check it out and if you want to enter, she makes it very easy to enter. I love dresses. I wish I could dress up all the time.

Moaning Monday

I also want to start a new regular post.

I would like others to join me and I’ll probably start using Mr. Linky.

I’ll have to make a cute little button that everyone can share as well; Like people do for Wordless Wed.

Anyways!

It is Monday and it is RAINING in Washington.

The rain makes me so depressed. It rains and rains and we don’t see the sun for almost all of winter. YUCK. We also had Dr. Appointments today and I forgot what time my kids appointment was. So I called the Dr. at 9 and asked when we were supposed to be there and she said, 9:30. OMG. My husband and I grabbed our kids, and diaper bag and ran to the car. Even without traffic from our house it takes that long to get to the Dr. I couldn’t believe it when we made it.

I have never seen my husband move so fast.

Then I had to go to the Dr. I think going to the Dr. on a Monday is very fitting. Mondays are the beginning of a week and just not very great. Well. Thanks for letting me vent. I’m going to try and get some rest and drop some ec’s. I have such a long list of things to post. I didn’t even look at it today. Hmm.

Monday Meal Plan

Let’s see,

This week, well we’ll take Monday off because that was today

Tue – Homemade Mac and Cheese and Green beans
Wed- Same
Thu- Enchiladas
Fri – Same
Sat – Same and Sandwiches
Sun – Pizza

I forgot to make pizza last week. It looks like I won’t have to go to the grocery store except to get bread.
