I have been wearing maternity pants since July 06 and I’m still wearing them. Yes, I did have two children in that time. The second was born in March of 08. I love wearing maternity pants. They are so comfortable and I did shell out the money for a few pairs so I feel like wearing them is OK. If you watch TLC’s What no to wear they would say throw them out. But I can’t fit into my old clothing yet. I got on the scale today and found that I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight but i have all of this skin left over. If I have a skinny day and can actually button my old pants I have all this skin that hangs over the side so I look terrible and get depressed. So I put my maternity pants on every day. Sometimes I don’t even take my pj’s off. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about this.

i am the queen of transition clothes. actually, i did wear maternity pants for a couple of months after micah was born. i love the underbelly stuff and the fact that they’re all stretchy and stuff. like you said, they’re very comfy. go to value village and get some cheap pants that you can wear now, but knowing that you didn’t spend much on them, you won’t feel bad ditching them when you can fit back into your old clothes. hence, “transition clothes”.
Maternity pants- “Fisherman pants as a maternity pants”
.Because the butterfly and fisherman’s pants sit low on the waist, they don’t interfere with the Mother’s growing belly ~ They feel so feminine, you will still feel quite sexy all the way through your pregnancy.
I’m with Rachel on this one. I still have some maternity clothes out, but usually use them for pjs.
Don’t get too hard on yourself, Louise. Pregnancy does some funky stuff to your body, and stretching it out is only the beginning of it.
I wore maternity pants for a long time until my fashionista friend got frustrated with me, lol! I ended up buying myself rather expensive jeans as a ‘reward’ for getting back to my pre-preg weight. Like you I was the same weight but certainly not the same shape. I really think you get what you pay for, cause the new jeans are flattering despite my extra skin…
You are not alone. I wore pregnancy pants for along time after my girl was born. I eventually had to buy new pants because I worn the pregnancy ones out.
