Time Out the Window

I know I am really hard on my self about everything. My husband tell me this is something I should really try to work on so that our kids have a higher self esteem. I agree with him but it is so hard. Right now, I feel like a terrible mother because I’m wishing for a little more time to myself. They are both sick right now and I should be more compassionate to them. I’m just trying to force Zoe to nap a little bit longer. And Why, well yes because she is sick but also because I want to blog a little bit. However, I can’t think of anything to blog about. This always happens when i sit down to blog. I really need to write a list down so that whenever I sit down I have something to write about. Time, there is not enough time in the day to do everything. Dishes, i have yet to finish those and they have to be done or I can’t give my children their medicine and Miles won’t have a clean bottle to drink out of. I miss the days where I got to be lazy. I also haven’t really been working on acquiring donations lately. I have to coupons for free chocolate bars I think I’ll add those to the MOMS club donation gift basket. I should also do some follow up calls to find out where the donations I have already requested are. You know, I really love the companies that respond lickidy split. Oh, I hear both of the children now. Gotta go now. They both should get a snack and maybe I’ll be cheered up by a run to the mail box after snack time. Hopefully I’ll have something fun. But after two really good days I doubt I’ll have a third. We’ll see.

Have a great day oh wonderful readers of mine.

I made four dollars buying shampoo

I didn’t have time to gather all of my coupons to go to Albertsons today. My goal is a coupon for everything I buy. Not always possible but I try. Today was the last day to qualify for a rebate so I had to take advantage of the sale. At Albertsons, they had Pert Plus 2 for 5. Now it is regularly over four dollars for one. Then I had two two dollar off coupons making the purchase 2 for 1. Then I got home and mailed off my receipt and expect to get five dollars back. So I have made a profit of four dollars. This is how I save money at Albertsons.

I know that many people like CVS. I don’t have those to shop at. Other people like Walgreens and get register rewards. I’m all for this, but sitting down and figuring it all out with coupons and where are my coupons, just tires me out. So, for now I’m settling with Albertsons. I’m doing well with it though. Let’s all take baby steps in savings. I do plan on saving a HUGE bundle on my next Albertsons trip. I’ll show my details after my trip. I need a nap right now.

Big Day in Mail

Saturday was a big day -

I got a hat
5 dollar gas card
25 dollar best buy card – they finally rectified my bad experience with them
a pack of gum
20 dollar card to use at children’s store – this is from spending too much money :-)

(and you people think I’m frugal)

Today I got
two coupons for free frozen meals – Michelina’s
Kellogg’s rebate for cereal – try Blueberry Frosted mini wheats
My Kashi cookie
Free tube of toothpaste
benefiber sample from Walmart

and bills of course. Our cable company is unhappy with use because we haven’t paid for two or three months. Well, we called three months ago to have it turned off. It’s not our fault the tech hasn’t come out and turned if off. In fact, last month when we called and got the operator id number because he assured us that we didn’t need to worry about any more bills coming in our mail. Well, you can imagine what they think we owe now.

Sunday Savings

I haven’t done this one in a while. It looks like Walgreens has some good deals this week, but it takes math and coupons and time. I think i can get paid to buy some stuff, but I have to look through all of my coupons. This is how I cut my coupons as I need them. I do however have to cut up some coupons for other people this week because of my contest on the other site I had. Never should have said I would pick five winners. :0) It’s ok. My kids are in bed and the rest of the night is mine. Oh, I also have some free stuff to get at Albertsons. I’ll let everyone know what works out tomorrow.

As far as surveys go. I haven’t gotten any products lately because I haven’t had time to take any surveys. Yuck I know. Kids have had runny noses and fever for a week. Oh, there is one of them now. I thought they were asleep. Sickness. More to come.

Zoo, Farm, Tornados too.

I live in a zoo is just the beginning. My kids are both under two. One of them is walking and you can always tell where she has been by the trail of toys left behind. It’s like when she finds something else she wants to play with one toy gets left behind. Room to room we go where she stops no one knows. Now that my six month old is sitting up, she brings him toys. So they can sit and play together. But when she leaves him that’s when the noise starts. We have crying, or just grunting. Sometimes his screeches sound like chimpanzee. He loves to talk and tries to sound like his sister. She talks well, she tries to talk you can’t understand a word she says but it doesn’t stop her from trying.
We have a dog and she loves to feed him, but every now and then she likes to put her hands in his water dish and try his food. I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s letting her brother try the dog food. That reminds me of the first time she had dog food. She was just crawling found some on the floor and started choking on it. At least she was smart enough to crawl over to mommy and show me something was wrong. Life with kids. I know it won’t be long before she’s swinging from the chandeliers and her brother is hanging on to her feet with glee in his eyes.

I was inspired to write about my zoo adventures from The parent bloggers network. They are having a giveaway for Iknow products. They look really great. A fun way to learn about animals. Cd’s, flash cards, iKnow tv.

See Kia Run – review, contest link, and Donation

Aren’t these cute. These were donated to my MOMS club for our gift basket raffle. I wonder how many tickets I can buy myself. I love them so much so I don’t want to give them to the club. I want to keep them.

See Kia Run. When I worked at Kids Club I got to order shoes. I loved ordering shoes and this brand was our best seller by far. It was a good price point compared to the other shoes we sold. I love them. The facts :

Why See Kai Run?

Healthy Fit

  • Very flexible soles are healthy for developing feet.
  • Wide opening and toe box accommodate even the chubbiest little feet.
  • Velcro closure allows for adjustable fit and easy on and off.
  • Leather lining is breathable and durable.
  • Padded collar adds comfort and helps our shoes stay on little feet.

Quality Construction

  • Leather used for our footwear meets the most stringent available U.S. and international guidelines.
  • Sheepskin leather uppers are butter-soft and more durable by weight than cow leather used by many other brands.
  • Durable construction and rubber sole stand up to heavy play indoors and out.

Urban Style

  • Hip, urban styles in modern color palettes.
  • Bold designs and detailing.
  • Modern takes on classic styles.

I took this information from their site. To me, they are flexible hard sole shoes that are perfect for first time walkers. Zoe’s first pair of shoes were the April . They were perfect for her. They bend completely in half and they were easy for her to take off if her feet were hot in the car. The shoes above are the Levi . They are both on clearance and you can order them directly from their website. I’m such a huge fan and I had no idea you can order them from their site. You have to look at the site. http://www.seekairun.com. The shoe line is named after the owners first son Kai. I met Kai the first time I bought shoes for Kids Club.

Oh and I bet you are wondering, she said something about contest. Yes I did. At some other websites you can find a contest and enter to win a pair.

There are probably more out there but this is all I could find for now. I’ve been trying to win myself a pair. Visit See Kai Run.

Christian Charm School

I was given the opportunity to review a new e-book entitled Christian Charm School through my friend Courtney. I thank you and Alyssa for this opportunity.

The e-book is by Alyssa Avant.

It is an e-book for girls and it is a workbook called Christian Charm School.

About the author: Christian Writer and Speaker, Alyssa Avant
Dynamic speaker and creative facilitator Alyssa Avant uses fun-filled events and the word of God to inspire girls and young women to embrace individuality and true, God-given beauty. Her events help girls gain self-esteem and leave all who attend with a greater understanding of their value and potential. Using biblical principles and her own experiences, she gives young people the courage to reject worldly values and look to God for affirmation and validation.
A Special Message from Alyssa
It is my heart’s passion to help bring out the beauty that is in all of us by God’s own design. Through uniquely designed events and empowering information, I help girls discover how they, too, can be different, set apart, and truly beautiful in the eyes of God and others for being who they really are. It is my hope and prayer that I can be a part of your ministry or organization’s efforts to touch the lives of young people.
More about author

My take on Christian Charm School:

I had a little trouble sitting down and getting into this because of all the distractions going on around me. So I had to get into a quiet place and really look at this and think about it. My daughter is only 21 months old, but as I read this and got into it. It made me think of all the things I want for my daughter. I was listening to Focus on the Family on the radio and children’s self image issues/eating disorders are on the rise in our country. Not only obesity, but also anorexia/bulimia. I have lots of self-image, confidence issues myself and do not want to pass them on to my daughter. Christian Charm School is something that would benefit other children. Alyssa goes through four workshops that touch on very important issues young girls face in a very simple biblical way. One thing that really touched me was the biblical passages and their relevance. Her book reminded me of the importance that faces everyone with the time we need to set aside for study and prayer with God. Not only does she with how we treat our bodies through diet and exercise but also how we treat the inner body through Jesus. She has other studies available as well. Thank you for sharing this with my family.

Cleaning the Teeth

What do you do when your kids don’t want to brush their teeth. I have no idea, my daughter hates having her teeth brushed. We sit on top of her and hold her hands down and brush. She cries and then it’s over and time for bed. Sometimes she’ll cry on the way to the bathroom. Now, I feel terrible doing this and so does her dad. The Dr said, just do it get it over with and move on. It is terrible. We even use starter tooth paste to make it a little more enjoyable. I’m just at a loss when it comes to brushing her teeth.

I’m hosting a coupon giveaway on my other site. Visit http://www.momstartjustadvertising.blogspot.com/ to enter the contest. Lots of coupons!
