Today’s Savings
I had to get a lot of groceries today and I don’t feel like I saved a lot. We needed some things and others I bought because they were on sale. I really need to work on staying focused on my list only. So I spent 203.74 before sale and coupons. I saved 44.36 buying brands that were on-sale and I used 22.74 dollars worth of coupons. My grand total was 133.24. I read on-line about how people save a bundle but I can’t figure it out. Maybe I’ll get better.

Best Buy Problem
I went into Best Buy last weekend with my whole family and was very disappointed with the service they provided us. We went in because of the Sunday ad. When we got there they had no idea what was going on with the ad and they had no concern about helping us with it. Go wait over there. So we asked again, then we were walked over to customer service who wanted to be helpful but when he asked his manager if he could help, she said no there is nothing we can do for them we don’t have anything to honor that ad with. She didn’t even come and explain things herself.
I complained over e-mail and got a letter back that said the same thing the manager said about the ad. But my complaint has nothing to do with the ad. I’m upset about the way we were treated. I have mailed a letter to them to see if they respond to that, but I’m not counting on it.
Freebie Sites
Since I became addicted to cutting coupons it jumped into freebie sites and taking surveys online. Anything I could do to save a dollar here and there. I think my goal is to save our family about 200 dollars a month in expenses that we usually spend. The coolest part about coupons and freebies is that you get more for less.
This site http://tinyurl.com/28pr is a link to the top freebie sites according to votes on-line. I think The Free Shoppe is the best one on the list. They don’t send junk and they seem to be friends. I like reading the discussions. I do not recommend the Freebie Empire that is at the top of the page. They send out a list of links every day and a lot of them are repeats and JUNK. They even ask that you vote on every e-mail that they send out. It is how they “know you got the e-mail”.
Shopping for free
I was shopping at Larry’s Market in Redmond and I saw in their add that if you buy 20.00 worth of Kellogg’s products then you will get a voucher for 20.00 for next time you come in. Then in the coupons there was a mail in rebate for 10 dollars, so I made money on the deal. I used a coupon on the Kellogg’s products so I also got some bananas for free.
The next time I went into Larry’s I purchased a ton of groceries. I used coupons and my voucher and another rebate and my total cost was 5.01. It was so much fun getting those groceries.
Sun Maid Raisins
I have been writing to companies and asking for coupons. I wanted to do snail mail to make it more personalized. Sun Maid actually sent me four 35 cent coupons for any Sun Maid product. They are the only company so far that has sent my SASE back as well. They didn’t use it so they sent it back. I’m keeping a list of companies that I write to and who sends coupons and who says NO.
Update***
They are still the only ones that sent me a coupon with my envelope.
